  1. I can understand why Compton is where he is in the listing as his NL average is worse than Johnson and Hopwood. Do think its a gamble and I don't think he will do any better than the previous two, in terms of the fast track system overall I like it but maybe restrict it to 1 berth next season. Certainly Kerr, Rose, Steve Worrall, blackbird, garrity and Newman are 6 real improves in my eyes.
  2. Thought this was a really good meeting and with both sides likely to make the play-offs the ifs and buts are pretty much irrelevant. Whatever the views on the pirates they are a well run club and a night out is worth the cash. Ward is just awesome to watch. As for the Brummies I miss them and want them back in action asap. In my view Play-offs will be awesome if its Lynn, Poole, Coventry and Swindon. (Just my view, have nothing against Lakeside or Eastbourne).
  3. Hopefully Woffy like the other top riders who still entertain us in the EL such as Darcy Ward and NKI don't read the comments on here from people who enjoy being critical of our league and use any excuse to have a go at them. If they need a breather due to such heavy workloads then have one but please keep riding in the EL as I love watching the best riders in the world on a regular basis. For those who don't care, don't ruin it for the rest of us.
  4. Sorry but a lot of what has been written is nonsense. Woffy is a top bloke who goes out of his way to raise the profile of speedway in general and in the UK. He couldn't be more friendly and accommodating if you actually meet him on a race night. So if with all the media, race nights and being ill he needs a break then give him some space and stop being such idiots. Honestly if most of the people on here were half the person Woffy is then it would improve this forum considerably.
  5. Gutted it was off was looking forward to watching a Brummies win as we start to climb the table.
  6. My concern is the lack of a consistent process for deciding when it is or isn't safe to continue riding. This meeting and that Aces v Poole one last year seem to benefit one team then get stopped. It just needs a clear rule. As for swindon last night and poole last year playing it to there advantage. Come on let's not be naive all teams do that given half the chance.
  7. There probably wasn't a page set up as I guess most Poole fans think it will only lead to other forum users having a go about them either a) being arrogant as they predict a pirates win or predicting a loss which would be seen as under playing the pirates so they can brag when they win. Personally I don't blame them, I think kings lynn will win as they have better reserves and at WR Janowski is a class above Bridger. That said am still looking forward to Janowski (the pirates weak link in Gavan's eyes) being sacked and joining the mighty Brummies.
  8. Kings Lynn had in advance picks as both Lewis's were assets. Am hoping for a safe heat 15 as the track is now a joke and has been for a few heats, riders are all over the place but I guess that's not a concern to anyone.
  9. Will be 3 points to Lynn as predicted. The conditions certainly provided entertainment as the riders struggled to stay on their bikes. As I mentioned before hand didnt look that safe. Apart from that pretty dull meeting really nowhere near the entertainment of Poole v Bees the previous night but guess every meeting can't be great. Lewis Kerr will be a wealthy man by the end of the season.
  10. Think Josh G in the pirates line up will be under pressure for his place soon losing to fast track riders doesn't go down well at any club e.g. Swindon and Simon G, so Josh G doing the same will be noted by Matt Ford when he looks at improvements. Though Millik is wild he does show some promise, though I get told not to say it the track is definitely tricky tonight Gavan - I must say I am really looking forward to Poole's weak link joining the Brummies when they sack him as Janowski will add plenty of fire power to our line up!!!
  11. Look at the Pirates tonight I quite fancy the Brummies chances of beating them when we meet, they are all over the place and only ward shows any consistency and he was still beaten by Schlein who is hardly on form. Brummies for the play-offs I reckon. A lot of riders falling tonight. Was surprised to see NKI and Pawlicki down in the last one.
  12. Sad to see several 3 rider races but can't really say its the track with Hopwood, sadly he is well out of his depth. Fair play to him for trying but he is slower than Lee Smart Gater1 no problem happy to enjoy the meeting and banter before the usual wind up of poole begins after they lose by 12 to 16pts. have yo say Love or hate them the crowd is the biggest of the season for the stars with Poole in town much like it has previously been at my beloved Brummies
  13. Don't mind the new format although I would only have one fast track rider as the second rider is just out of his depth and tends to get his points when the other rider falls. Well unless you own two fast track riders such as Kings Lynn and Coventry who will have an advantage over the rest all season.
  14. Am concerned whilst I appreciate the big crowd turning up wanted a meeting the track looks dangerous tonight. Just hope all the riders safely get through the meeting.
  15. Kings Lynn to win at a canter, best team in league by a mile. Think it will be about 12 to 16 point stars victory. Do expect some good racing though as long as the rain hasn't ruined it. Big points for NKI, Woofy and Kerr
  16. Don't sell your team short you will easily win this one. The Poole reserves are weak and NKI and Woofy will go through the card. Poole are likely to be 4th this year so Lynn will have harder matches than this stroll. Look at tonight an average Bees line up beat the Pirates at their home!!!
  17. Gavan - bees won fair and square however don't go overboard. TR worked out well and Ward's crash in HT15 with Pawlicki leading helped. I guess your quotes are on expectations in that you always expect Poole to win. Whilst my beloved Brummies won and got on the points tonight I would still gladly swap our team for Poole's and take my chances on winning the title. Please also start a campaign on Magic as if he was dropped I would happily have him as one of our heat leaders.
  18. Brummies magic its the start of our rise up to the play-offs. Pirates were bottom in May last year and won the league so why not us this year.
  19. Coventry favourites with one change your kidding me!!!! Have you not watched Kings Lynn this year. None of the bees would make there team.
  20. Lynn by 16. They are by far the strongest team in the league, best heat leader in NKI and as important top reserve in Kerr. Must be bookies favourite now. There is then a pack of a few who could make play-offs. Not sure why people are tipping Poole as they lost at home to an ordinary Bees team tonight. Maybe the season isn't lost for the awesome Brummies:-) great win for us tonight start of the rise up the table.
  21. Great win for the bees tonight congratulations. Sorry Kings Lynn fans but really can't see Darcy Ward riding tomorrow he is struggling to control the bike when under pressure with that knee so needs a break (well the surgery really). Bees looking good and before anyone says TR's played there part then yes they did but they are the rules. Still think Kings Lynn are favourites for the title and the rest are playing catch up!!!!!
  22. No SteveO am a Brummies supporter but having read so many of the comments on here I thought I would just add that if it was Poole doing this move everyone would be calling foul. I have absolutely no problem with the change although as per usual there seems no clarity on next steps for the robins. My understanding is the list of draft riders gets updated when the NL is finalised and that these riders as long as they are british can also be used. Ps Crazy Robin take it easy was just my view, you should try being a Brummies fan this coming season with a heat leader trio of Barker, King and Kennett!!!
  23. Not a bad team from Poole and I think they will sneak 4th. Kings Lynn will be top, Swindon second and Belle Vue third.
  24. So the first team to go back on the draft, letting bates go so they can grab another rider they had in mind. And there was everyone predicting that it would be Poole doing that first. I have no idea what the rule is on this but am sure other teams will follow Swindon's lead.
