Morley riding for Lakeside so RR, Lambert back and Chessell in for Baseby. Away win but with all the points?
-
Well i'm pleased Morley is now hitting some form. Carr did beat him 3 times last night and I can't help thinking that last seasons Morley would have done better against him. Last season he had this knack of getting in front and just about staying there. Will this be his last season for us and his last in the NL? I can see him finishing with quite an expensive average. Baseby again looked like more than you could ask for a number 2. His average is also creeping up. Who was it who said that his average (at the time of signing) was 4.5ish for a reason?! Mason was again solid. Surely this is his best season (at home) for many a year. Ironically, it might be his undoing. With currently at least a 7.54 average, can we fit him in next season? Will he bow out on a high? Compton is flying now - so pleased for him. How are we going to fit all these riders back in next season? One thing i hadn't contemplated was that in having teams like Scunthorpe, and pushing for the playoff's, our averages will go through the roof! And Lambert still to come back. Hopefully this weekend for the Stoke and Buxton away meetings. As for the reserves? Does anybody try harder than Danny Ayres? Boy do the crowd love him. Garrad can certainly gate, but his control on the bends (particulary bends 3/4) let him down. I shut my eyes for the first time ever in a speedway meeting during heat 7. Maybe this is our season. If Morley can find just one more gear, If Baseby and Compton can hold their form, If Mason can pick up a few more points away from home, If Danny and Jason are at their best and with Lambert to pick up from where he left off. Just maybe we can get to the final...

We have given youth a chance, and when the right youngster comes along i'm sure the management will try and fit him in. The way the averages are going we will have no choice next season. Kingston would still be in the team had it not been for his employers saying they could not continue to release him on Monday nights. We still have Freemantle on the books but nobody has a clue about when/if he will return to the side after suffering concussion at the start of the season. As for 'the future of British Speedway not looking good with promotions like Kent'? Surely they should be applauded for sticking their neck out and getting a club off the ground in Kent - especially when clubs are folding?
-
I used to think you were OK. Your hatred towards the management has for some reason made you want to wind up Kent fans. Do yourself a favour: Get behind the club/riders or support another team!

Plenty of interest from TWG. More playoff points coming our way and I can see Mr Ayres getting a maximum tonight. Weather has just turned semi-dodgy but i'm sure we'll get a meeting tonight. #blow your whistle

Yes it might be. But don't forget we are only in our second season, and if the management were to do a Scunthorpe, they would probably not keep the crowds required (although I would attend). Since the beginning, the management have given plenty of youngsters a chance - but for whatever reason, most have not made it and been moved on. Kirby, Woods, Coles, Harris. Yes, we could do with another 4 or 5 like Jack Kingston, but for now, we have 5 guys in their mid-twenties. They are all improving so why shouldn't they have a team place? p.s. No Speedway in November! It might turn out to be but wouldn't you take your chance?! -

Pop down to CP and witness what David Mason is doing with our young inexperienced riders. Whilst you are there, come and enjoy Simon Lambert on bends 3 and 4. He is currently injured for around 3 more weeks (through no fault of his own). With a bit of luck he won't need NL next season so you PL and EL lovers can enjoy all of him #go-on-the-lammy. Oh, and as for Benji Compton - he is back to his best after an injury and financial issues. His reward?: Poole EL draft rider at reserve. BYW. -

Easy home win and some vital playoff points. Get the confidence a bit higher and hopefully some passing practice for Danny and Jason. I used to watch Moggo snr at Canterbury #getting old! -
Sod it, i'm going to take the bait. They had Ben Wilson at #1 - he has been snapped up by a premier league side. Their guest, James Sarjeant, has EL experience and is on a 9 average. Their #2 Chris Widman is the 6th most improved rider this season and he does well at our track. I really rate him even though he had a night to forget last night. Ben Hopwood has ridden CP a dozen times (and guested as our #1 this season) - he also rides EL. Lee Payne was on EL duty i think so they brought in the wonderful Marc Owen. He has ridden our track a dozen times, can pass anybody and he also rides EL. Jon Armstrong needs no introduction as he has scored bags of points for your team. Yes they were without James Mcbain at reserve but Shuttleworth is decent enough and Kirby is an ex King who scored 7 paid 9 against us a few weeks ago. Oh, and Stoke have won their last two visits to CP. #BYW

Well well well! How foolish of me (and probably everybody else), to think that we did not have a prayer; Stoke were totally blown apart. Everybody played their part in this very impressive win which moved us to 3rd in the table. Surely if this kind of form continues, and with Lambert to come back, the playoff's must be nailed on. Baseby looked very fast, Mason was mind-reading everything in front and behind him, Compton was at times untouchable, Ayres looked fast and comfortable in front, Garrad beat James Sarjeant! and Morley got a much needed win under his belt. Bloody bloomin' marvellous. Blow your whistle. What is the point of the club taking all those pictures if they do not use them?

no entry charge with last weeks ticket.

Can Boxall double-down?! I don't think he is even averaging a 6.00 at RH. Kingston is a good shout - i've just messaged him on FB lol.
-
not a chance - this one is ON!

Yes I know, my inability to understand the guest ruling as resurfaced. So, there is no way we can use a guest? I hope the answer is yes..... To be honest, i think Stoke have got some cheek pulling in a guest for both riders. We did them a favour by lending them Lambert the other night only for him to get injured! I had never contemplated a rider guesting for a playoff rival until this weekend. On one hand I want Lambert to get bookings and earn cash - he has plenty of talent and has hit some fine form. On the other hand, I can't get my head around our best rider helping out our closest rival. I know Boxall rode for plenty of other NL teams last season but we never had a chance of the playoffs! So it happens in 3's does it? Oh, and the bronze helmet is a joke! Lambert can't defend his title so the pleasure falls to one of his team mates? David Mason to increase his record anyone?

change it if it bothers you that much.

have the chessell and Blake pictures been updated yet?

whistlegang replied to Mimmo's topic in National League Speedway
*Mimmo* Final mention of the meeting, and pride of place has to go to 'Demons' guest for the night, Simon Lambert. Now in his 11th year of racing, I've never witnessed such a dominant performance from the Gosberton Risegate racer before. His performance even had a certain local promoter on his feet applauding. I just can't believe what I witnessed from this likeable young man, and after a troubled start to the season, I hope it's onwards and upwards from here on in. Bloody marvellous. ---------- I hope you don't mind but I passed on your comments to Simon. He certainly is in fine form right now. As a Kent fan, I could not see us replacing Boxall, but I am so pleased to have been proved wrong. Any idea if the DVD can be purchased for this meeting? -

I agree but imagine the flack the management would have got if it had stayed dry.....
