  1. If I have read a Polish website correctly there will be a Unia Tarnow/RKM Rybnik match at 20.20 CET on Tuesday 23 May 06 on Edusat Sorry, looks like I got it wrong, Edusat didn't show speedway
  2. Yesterday evening (Friday) when searching for something interesting to watch on the Hotbird Satellite I found Polish speedway on a channel called EDUSAT. Two meetings were shown, the first was an individual won by Marcin Jedizejewski ?, and the second a league match, possibly 1 or 2 Liga. I don't know the teams because there wasn't any on screen details for this one. Perhaps one of our Polish friends will know. For anyone with a Satellite receiver (not Sky) details are: Hotbird 13 deg East, frequency 11283V, 27.500, currently free.
  3. Rail timetable at rozklad.pkp.pl/bin/query.exe/en?
  4. maddas69, thanks for the information, I already have other equipment.
  5. When is the start of Polish speedway on television and on what channels will it be broadcast ? I am able to get most of the channels from Poland on the Hotbird Satellite, Polsat, Polsat Sports, Polsat Sports Extra, TV Puls, Tele 5, etc. Thanks
  6. See 'motospeedway-espana.com', there's not much on it at the moment but it may be worth saving.
  7. It's 75 Km from Venice to Lonigo, suggust you hire a car
  8. SCB, have tried twice to download the GP programme but have not been able to get it, can you check it out ? Thanks
  9. Thanks for the replies, it looks like a late night to watch the top Polish league on 'Polsat', then the lower leagues on 'Tele 5' Mondays, which might clash with the British Elite
  10. Does anyone know if Polish Speedway will be broadcast on satellite as it was last year by TV Puls ??
  11. I watched the U21 Final on Satellite TV, I thought the racing was poor with very little passing after the first bend, Matej Zager tried it and was excluded !. Why was one of the semi finals rerun for the second time when there was only 2 riders, they would both have qualified For the final anyway. Perhaps the referee can tell us, I think it was Mick Bates.
  12. Anyone with a Satellite TV system (not Sky) can watch the final live on 'TV Puls' from the Hotbird Satellite tonite at 6pm.
  13. I don't think it was Jim Squibb but his son Barry who competed in Rallycross
  14. I've got a copy of "British Speedway Leagues 1946-1964" and R. Stringer rode for Odsal in 1949, his total points score for the season was '0' so I would think he was a junior. This might be Zilinger.
  15. What a pleasant surprise to read about the Saints again, it's nice to know that there are other old fans of Bannister Road still around. My memories go back to the late 40's when we had Jimmy Squibb, Alf Kaines, George Bason, Pete Lansdale, Alf Bottoms, Tom & Bob Oakley, Cecil Bailey, then there was my favorite, Phil Bishop. I still love Speedway, until 2 years ago I was a regular at Poole but now it's just the TV and this forum, plus my memories. Happy days
  16. Does anyone know if there is Italian Speedway on RAI Sport in 2004 ??

    Old Bike

Went to the Milestones Museum in Basingstoke yesterday, an added attraction was 'A Century of Speed in Hampshire' and included in this was an OEC Speedway bike made in 1953 by the Osbourne Engineering Company of Portsmouth. I can remember the OEC, does anyone know who rode them ? The bike was loaned to Milestones by the National Museums of Scotland.
  19. Sounds like it's my old mate Andy !
