Rye House Vs Plymouth Sat 19th March 7pm
Penny Cross replied to barraider's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I take your point Shads.A bit early to judge riders form atm. However 2 points concern me re Charlie last night. Had his front wheel in the air more often than normal.Barely getting it down before the pit gate each race. Seems very low on confidence. Never looked likely to challenge for a 2nd place in his races. Also constantly looking over his left shoulder for the guy behind him. Totally accept he needs a few meetings to dial in after his lay off. -

Great to see speedway back at Smallbrook. Very best of luck to Brendan Johnson. He deserves a good season after last years nonsense from Eastbourne. -

Still up to his tricks I see. At a Plymouth v Somerset meeting a few years ago, both Masters and Kyle Hughes had a coming together. Hughes was stuck under his machine when Masters came up and kicked him, steel shoe et al. Not the most popular visitor to the SBA. -
Glasgow V Plymouth Play Off Qf
Penny Cross replied to Gazc's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Fishers rides definitely cost the Devils. Very poor return from R/R and guest. At SBA, it was 3+2. At Ashfield it was a big fat 0. Would have been good for at least 6-7 at home and maybe double figures away. Good luck Tigers. -

Fisher.........nuff said ......even before a wheel was turned. -
Get over it for gawds sake. In Allen Trump, Plymouth have a person who has done far worse than that! He wouldn't think twice about doing the same. It has happened plenty of times before, and will continue to happen. Not saying its right at all, but every Promoter could and should be looking at what's best for their club in the same situation. Perhaps Lewy, you should be looking at the disgraceful outburst on twitter from Kyle Newman. Using lots of swear words and blaming everything and everyone for last nights result. Not once apologising for his own inept performance. Even Ashley Birks and David Howe have asked him not to be so disrespectful. Had Plymouth won, all would have good! So in just this last week he has unceremoniously slagged off Scunthorpe and Sheffield without a word of contrition for his own failings. What will he say about Rye House later ? We all know he hates the place with a vengeance. Some of his actions leave me baffled. Rarely does he chase after another rider who beats him in a good race to shake his hand after the race. Its ok when the other rider looks for him though. Rarely shows any passion when winning a race, allowing the fans to celebrate with him on the wind down lap. Poor at team riding. Take thursday, in a good position with Eklof for a 5-1, didn't bother looking until the last lap, cleared off allowing Lanham through and eventually causing Eklof fall when trying to rescue the 5-1. Poor actions from our captain. Nothing new there though, as its happened plenty of times this year.

The way Newcastle rode last night, Wright could easily have scored the same.
-
Poor decision to drop Wright. Simota has had all season and ridden worse than Wright for most of it. Only now as reserve has he managed to up his average, still below his starting average. Given that Wright only came in a month ago, its to be expected hed struggle a bit. As a reserve, I would have expected him to get amongst the points. So much for our Promoters claim that theres too many foreigners, and Brits are not given enough chances!

Nowhere near as convincing a win as when against Somerset and Edinburgh. After all if any one of the Rockets had fired up, obviously Kennett excepted, it could well have different. Quite agree about Holders ride. If every meeting had one race like that, we would all go home smiling, even if it was against your side. While on his SRBF collection duties, I said to Jack, about Ht9, 'what ever big Bro can do'...' His reply was' Chris... Chris who'? Very impressed with Risager. Ht7 and ht11 were probably his best rides as a Devil, well, certainly at the SBA. With recent changes, the momentum has swung the Devils way as far as the play offs go. Rye House away will be the tricky one, as normally Newman is appalling there. Maybe wiser to get a sick note for that one, as I'm sure R/R would help the team. Long way to go yet, though. Agree its about time Sky got their backsides down here.

Belle Vue Aces V Poole Pirates 03.08.15

Don't be silly. Poole doing their best to get Aces into play offs. Better to face KL or BV than Swindon in the Semis. -
Poole Pirates Vs Wolverhampton Wolves 22/7/15
Penny Cross replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Well done James Sarjeant.Got a less than welcome reception, then getting excluded for moving at the start. He then fell awkwardly in Ht12.Once on his feet he acknowledged the few that clapped him. Good lad. Ride of the night belonged to Paul Starke in the rerun of ht12.Speedway at its best whether GP,EL,PL or NL. Great ride. -
Plymouth V Workington 17/7 Pl

The race that turned this meeting. Copied from live updates: Heat 11: Simota, Newman, Howarth, Harrison 50.97 5-1 35-31 Line Up: Newman, Simota, Howarth, Harrison Comments: Untidy start. All 4 back. Rerun: Newman and Harrison down bend 2. All 4 back. Both up and ok. Rerunx2: A captains ride from Newman! Out of bend 2 in front of Howarth who he held up enough for Simota to squeeze round the outside of both of them on bend 4. Read more: http://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/thread/14743/plymouth-workington-pl-17-15pm?page=1#ixzz3gBb6iq2C Complete and utter farce from referee Jim Laurence. How on earth wasn't Newman excluded for falling and bringing down Harrison? There is no way it should have been all 4 back. Ostergaard did the same in when P'bro were here a few weeks ago, and was rightly excluded. Newman did EXACTLY the same in the same meeting , yet got away with 'all 4 back'. It turned that meeting too. That's twice Newman has got away with poor riding. Shocking decisions. In the rerun, I don't agree that Newman team rode either. He was busying himself with Howarth. That in turn left room for Sam to blast round the boards. Nothing intentional about trying to get Sam through. It was only when they reached the back straight next lap that they settled down. The result of Ht11 would probably have been a 3-3, maybe even a 2-4, thus Comets would have got at least a point. As it was, it was the 2nd 5-1 of three on the bounce, and Devils were visibly lifted. Holder basically didn't turn up for his first 2 rides, before taking Wells round the outside, much to most peoples surprise. Wells got it back before Holder hit the notorious 3rd bend bump, catapulting him into the fence. Very good in his last 2 rides though, he actually gated! Both Risager and Simota rode probably their best meetings of the season at the SBA. Edited to add ; To Matt Bates. If you want to get on in speedway don't be in McDonalds at 6.40pm eating when you should have been in the pits by then. Not very clever. -
Hi Andy, Ive just purchased an Amazon Fire Stick with Kodi added. Loaded easily enough, within 30 mins of opening the box! However, when I try to watch Swindon v Poole 2015, I get Polish speaking commentators, over and above Nigel and Kelvin. You can hear both commentaries. Those 2 on their own is bad enough, but Polish as well is a bit much!! Is there anything I can do?

Can only see an away win here. With R/R at No.1 for Fisher, its going to be a tough ask for the Devils to win. Official Plymouth website:http://www.plymouthdevils.co/devils-prepare-for-comets.html Team Line Ups* Plymouth: 1 R/R for Ryan Fisher, 2 Morten Risager, 3 Jack Holder, 4 Todd Kurtz, 5 Kyle Newman. 6 Sam Simota, & 7 Matt Bates (G) Workington: 1 Kyle Howarth, 2 Rusty Harrison, 3 Rene Bach (captain), 4 Kenneth Hansen, 5 Ricky Wells, 6 Matt Williamson, 7 Matthew Wethers. Wells is always good value, as is Wethers. Bach, Howarth and Harrison are all capable of winning races. I suppose it really depends which Hansen rides, as he can be red hot or stone cold. If recent home performances are anything to go by, all the Comets need to do is set up to gate and go, as too many Devils don't seem to have the appetite to chase. You get the impression that the Promoters are waving the white flag. If as it says on the Devils website, its been known for a week that theres doubts about Fisher, why hasn't a guest been lined up? Maybe they did try, but as usual, little communication with the fans. I get the distinct feeling that its a case of now getting through to the end of the season. It looks and feels like the end of PL racing. NL speedway next season or nothing. I hope Im wrong, but that's how I view things.

King's Lynn Vs Poole 1st July
Penny Cross replied to Star Lady's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Poole only just lost without Holder! The only thing that puzzled me was not having Watt in Ht15. Otherwise, KL got out of jail by Janowski lifting and baulking North. Excellent ride from Lambert though. Have been a fan of his for a while now, before he joined KL. He could do that regularly on the German circuits while U16. -
