  1. After interviewing him he said he was fine. Classy guy, we always knew that but he was overwhelmed with the collection. He's gonna let us know the exact figure raised soon.
  2. I chaired last nights meeting. The money raised so far by supporters in one evening is colossal. The messages of support are colossal. the emergency committee fans, businessman, speedway community in general, BSPA support is colossal. We are overwhelmed with your support.
  3. Critical meeting turned into extraordinary meeting. Thank you all from the emergency committee. Pledges of over £14,000.00 from supporters with around another £6,000 from interested parties. Still not out of the woods but we're fighting. Next stop.....finding an investor to clear the debt.....then we roll.
  4. this meeting will take place on Thursday 24th March
  5. I can only speak for the past 3 seasons but Friday nights attendances are far higher than Saturday nights. That's just a simple fact.
  6. A "Critical Meeting" is to be held at the Sir Joshua Reynolds public house at 7.30pm to discuss plans for the future of the Plymouth Devils. Team manager Lee Trigger will be in attendance and hopefully at least one promoter. Supporters are urged to attend to discuss the possibilities and range of options available. BSPA have been informed of the meeting of which they will have a full report following the discussion. Can I emphasise that this meeting is not an official PLYMOUTH DEVILS meeting but a meeting to discuss and propose effective rescue plans and viable sustainability. Please attend if you can. Sir Joshua Reynolds The Ridgeway Plympton Plymouth PL7 2AW
  7. To explain the above posts. I work closely with the promotion and there were no companies turned away due to skills group sponsorship. This would be incredibly hypocritical as skills groups business is about promoting quality training. So the more business involved with speedway the better it is for skills group.........This is one way to promote, build partnerships and expand.
  8. Devildodger and Mikeyt provide the best updates on the site imo. I rarely miss home matches so thanks devildodger for putting a little more than "from the gate." Mikeyt also elaborates on each race which can only be good for the sport.
  9. Great result for the devils tonight. Saturday will be tough against the Monarchs but there is an air of optimism and expectation at the SBA now so lets hope to keep it rolling
  10. Sorry to be late with reply but that is 100% correct. NO BIKES WERE ON TRACK!!!
  11. There were no bikes practicing on Saturday afternoon. I was there from 8.30am to until 10.30pm. Track prep was going on throughout the day. It was clear that running 2 events in one day with inclement weather would have been extremely difficult. Cannot understand why people would say practice happened when it never did!
  12. Point taken Mikey and as usual your post is constructive. But there is something about this guy that shows he is professional and dedicated to the sport. His epuipment and kit is immaculate. Doesn't make him a good rider but we shall have to wait and see. He can go one of 2 ways and I can't predict which way that is, only to say we have 13 meetings before our first league meeting with the first away to Peterboro then 2 challenge matches against Somerset, we will have a better idea then.
  13. I am a little surprised at the Benko bashing. We don't really know to much about him so lets all put him in the minus 3 point category. Just a few points to bear in mind before sharpening the axe. 1. Jozsef Tabaka, regarded as a decent PL rider, head to head Benko comes out on top. 2. Good on big tracks beating the likes of Aleksander Conda. 3. So keen on coming to Plymouth has spent time and big cash on practising around a temporary 140 metre track. 4. Arrived in Uk 10 days early to practise as much as possible on our small track. 5. First few laps on SBA didn't look very good, made adjustments and made massive strides. All that said doesn't make him a 5 point plus rider but no-one at this time can say he's a 3 pointer. IMO Plymouth have signed an exciting prospect who likes to ride wide, now get on you bike Benko and show what success hard work, dedication, sheer guts and determination will bring. PS. sorry to hear about TABAKA, recover soon.
  14. Congratulations Newcastle and thankyou for providing a top class field in a so called meaningless match. Well done George and apologies for not interviewing you tonight. Many Plymouth fans will echo when I say "Go win the league now as the class your team show on and off the track deserves success." Well done guys
  15. The main back straight stand people can smoke. The new smaller stand that starts at the end of the back straight is non-smoking. We can only request that people do not smoke here. There are no smoking signs in this area and I will repeat this through out up coming meetings. Apologies to your wife. I will also request a steward to remind patrons about the non smoking area. Common sense to make things more comfortable for everyone.
