theyre probably not picks in that sense, there will be some form of agreement. poole always seemed to have the best reserves under the old scheme despite having the last pick, I don't think its as clear cut as they make it.

If we’re signing Lambert we might as well have Rowe on a similar average, and there is no way we could realistically fit both in the team without having two big hitters (which we won’t have)
More than doubling the attendance i wouldnt say is achievable. Knocking a £5 off it maybe would work if you encouraged people to spend money there/actually promoted the sport
the whole season has basically been a dead rubber as the top four have been confirmed for months, might as well just start the season with the play offs in future.
These lines are not true, this year the season would not have 'fizzled out' at all as it would have gone down to the last meeting of the season.
Your second line is because of the play offs! The reason the regular league meetings don't mean anything is because everyone is waiting until the end of the season. Why do we have a full regular season that means nothing for the sake of a handful of meetings that do mean something at the end of the season?
The first paragraph is exactly what happened this year anyway, the top four were basically confirmed after two months of the season. This year is a great example of how the league system would have worked with it going down to the last meeting of the season to determine the champions
