  1. Where is Richard based? He has already committed to the Pirates for 2025 which is a fair drag from Cumbria (his place of birth) but Lynn is some 60 miles less so not sure if traveling was/is the main reason fot turning down the Stars unless of course he is based somewhere between Poole & Leicester?
  2. Lindgren will be required either for the final or the 3rd/4th playoff
  3. The 2 year experiment by the Witches (that nearly paid off this year) of a very strong top two and reserve duo is at an end. For next year with Doyly all but signed and doubts about Emil's availability being voiced by the promotion (read that as "known" for next year) the promotion will be opting for a stronger middle order to put less reliance on the top two whilst reducing the effect (which came to fruition this season) of not having anything like suitable guests being available to step in should a heat leader (or two) be sidelined. The big loser of not having Emil riding in the UK next season will be UK speedway. His commitment, professionalism and charisma has been a breath of fresh air these past two seasons and frankly the powers that be should be seeking to ensure Emil does ride somewhere in the UK - come what may!
  4. I am not wrong at all. The point b) was a consideration decided upon by the teams not me.
  5. Your "love" is given via rose colored glasses isn't it. after all, All four play-off teams agreed to the format proposed. a) To satisfy the TV notice period, and b) To ensure as much as possible, the best attendances at all four playoff matches. Meanwhile, Sheffield will be recognised as finishing top of the "regular season", though no prizes given for that (shame) and should they win their tie v BV then they will have the choice of dates for the final either v Leicester or Ipswich.
  6. Difficult to call the outcome of this tie. The eight points Witches have in hand is a good start and may prove sufficient to see them through. Lions have only managed 6 point wins in their last two meetings at home including a Max F 18 point maximum v the Stars. RR is not ideal given that it will mean on 3 occasions the chosen riders taking two rides on the trot. That said, the Lions 1-5 are on paper stronger than their opponents especially at home. Ultimately it could come down to the performance of the reserves where the Witches duo look the strongest overall although Lewis Kerr is capable of getting the better of them individually and so a strong performance from him could ultimately become a deciding factor. Lions by 10 on the night needing last heat decider or maybe having to go to a superheatđŸ˜ŹđŸ˜±
  7. Yeah, eventually. Was somewhat distracted by those who keep having a go at Danny & those who think Emil is shirking his duties. My apologies to all - I actually do have a sense of humour 🙄
  8. What logic says that because Jason & Emil are injured, then Danny’s previously acceptable 7/8/9 points need to become 13/14. It just doesn’t work like that at all. The most reasonable expectation is for Danny to deliver what is reasonably expected I.e 7/8 points (from 4 rides) and R/R and guests to make up the points as far as possible for the best two heat leaders in the league. Oh and at 37 riders are not at the improving stage of their careers unless they didn’t start out until they were 36!
  9. Being driven as a passenger to a stadium is somewhat less than drive to airport, sit around, sit on flight, drive to stadium, race & return. All this having raced (whilst not totally fit) the day previous. Bottom (scuzzy pun) line is, Emil returned to work earlier than expected or advised, following which he needed to carry on his recuperation from what was a bad crash and serious injury requiring surgery & convalescence.
  10. The SCB site is the correct place for such announcements as they are the governing body of the sport in the UK & responsible for the implementation of associated rules & regulations.
  11. Duly signed. Good luck with the work ahead.
  12. Makes sense though as it means avoiding a clash with the playoff final on TV & the improved potential of available riders.
  13. ToruƄ need to be knocked out of the Polish play-offs before Emil will be allowed to ride in UK this year. And given that ToruƄ have a 12 point advantage to take into the second leg of their semi-final that’s not going to be during 2024.
  14. highest placed team (after completion of league fixtures) to reach final to have decision on who rides first/second leg at home
  15. Neither the NFL nor The NCAA changed anything which PH was less than accurate in stating. The truth is that TV requested the dates to be fixed for the playoffs before the season had finished. Just difficult to understand why this was not stated from the outset. So much for clearer communication to the fans!
  16. What was Morris going on about saying the NFL did the same last year in their playoffs as British Speedway are doing this year? Totally incorrect & misleading.
  17. Play offs 1st v 3rd & 2nd v 4th highest placed team to reach final to have decision on who rides first/second leg at home
  18. Very true. But if Lions do beat Stars Monday then the top four wouldn’t be known (confirmable) If Lions did win both matches to finish top, they would still need to pass Tigers overall aggregate “points for” or still come second. That said, it’s clear most folk on here totally disagree with the decision made to fix the play-offs which is entirely understandable.
  19. So if it turns out Lions meet Tigers in final, Leicester will have choice of leg at home, or will it still depend which team finishes top of the regular season?
  20. The focus’s group needs to ensure they call his bluff & get the facts in the open & ensure the authorities are transparent in their dealings. All possible with the right approach.
  21. Already enough tracks in GP for the throttle jockeys. Plus possible max 5k attendance hardly inspiring.
  22. errr, 45 - 45 at Sheffield last Thursday? Hopefully, a good entertaining tight match. Stars to get over the line thanks to better performing reserves.
  23. There is no basis of any claim for a restraint of trade where a person or organisation has previously signed an agreement which includes specific clauses on limiting (sole use) usage by others for similarly defined purposes. The determination being having "signed an agreement". In simple terms. No one is forced to sign such an agreement, but if you do, then you need to abide by the terms and conditions which you agreed to.
