  1. Very poor show from the Plymouth management/ promotion. Dropping a brit for a foreigner, what a disgrace. Ashley is coming back from injury and has been having 7 rides for several weeks now which has put extra pressure on him and his bikes and this is the thanks he gets!! Well i personally would like to wish Ashley well and thank him for his efforts in the short time he was a Devil. Trigger must have a short memory announancing that the "fans favourite" was returning to the Devils, as the last season he rode for Plymouth an awful amount of fans were accusing him of lowering his average to fit into the next seasons Somerset team and couldn't wait to be rid of him lol
  2. Bus 21/21a from royal parade city centre stop A10, near Poundland Buses on way back every half hr 9.15 or 9.45
  3. I too only made the 60 mile round trip in the hope of seeing Lambert. It was announced on the centre green when we got there, that he was ill in Germany and unable to make it! Thank goodness Barker was there, so it wasnt a complete disappointment. Unfortunately there isnt much to fill anyone with a sense of excitement in the Devils team. However, it was good to see Simota having a go and a much improved performance from him last night.
  4. Ahh so glad someone else noticed this, i thought i must have dreamt that there were other remarks on there lol Hardly a fans forum if people are not able to express their opinion.
  5. Hence why i sad 'most' and not 'all', just not realistic to think he will get similar scores in the team at PL then from reserve at EL
  6. Well I knew it would be a hammering tonight but even I didnt expect it to be by that many. Not sure why the fans on the Plymouth forum are so surprised at Newmans abysmal performance though, he has never had a decent meeting at Rye and whilst it is in his head that he dislikes the track, he never will. He only beat a reserve tonight, his other points came only by finishing 3rd and beating his team mate. I was shocked Plymouth chose him for captain, surely Risager would be the better option as he has years more experience. Also surprised that the fans are moaning that he top scores for Poole..well that is because he is essentially beating Pl reserves for most of his rides! I said at start of Season Fisher was not going to be a good enough no1 and so far that has been confirmed. I see the hardcore fans are now moaning about the manager but that has been a concern of mine for a couple of years. So much for his promise on the centre green last night that the team would come back fighting after the home defeat, it seems that heads were down tonight from the off. The Promotion need to get their act together and be open with the paying fans instead of being dishonest. They knew Thursday night that Proctor wouldnt be guesting on Friday but the fans werent aware until the team was announced on the centre green! Probably because they knew a fair few fans wouldnt attend if it was r/r, as that will never work on an average as low as Kyle's!
  7. Bet Penny cross is glad he/she went, as tonights display proved the point as to why they are not a fan of Fisher! Inconsistent and highly unlikely imo to be the rider he was at the SBA 3 years ago
  8. Matt Bates now out and Sam Chapman in!
  9. Three riders missing for plymouth again this year, on Good Friday.
  10. Newman at 1, oh dear and he is missing for 1 of the april meetings too isnt he? What a mess
  11. Very difficult to monitor what goes on behind closed doors though
  12. Having read Halifax Tiger's post on the rules, that comment might come back to bite you on the bum! That is of course unless they decide to change the rules, stranger things have happened! However, as it stands it would seem the promotions of both teams are as bad as each other ;-)
  13. If that rule is still in place, looks like it could be back to the drawing board. Im sure it would be more financially viable for Sam to stay nl for another year and score big points and grow in confidence rather than just do pl, which we all know is a big step up. Also according to a post on the Plymouth forum it looks like the team will be without their captain for 7 meetings due to fixture clashes. Perhaps a change in the captaincy would be beneficial to give the team some sort of consistency.
  14. The supporters club agm last night and on the devils website
  15. I would think the rule has been put into place to protect the livelyhoods of our british riders and prevent their jobs being given to unproven foreigners!!!
  16. I have been to nearly every home meeting since plymouth reopened at the sba, so im well aware of what nigel does and how exciting the racing can be! The point i was making when i made the quote was that the person making it isnt a paying customer!
  17. Ahh but it is the ones that pay that will be missed!!
  18. I was never a fan of Ben until he joined Plymouth and i witnessed for myself, week after week, what an amazing team rider he is. Like you say it is not often we witness that in this day and age. The heats with Ricky Wells and Ryan Fisher, in particular spring to mind. It was evident that Ben was less willing to team ride after the demise of Birmingham. However, i can understand the change in his riding style. With only 1 wage coming in and an extra mouth to feed in his household, he was obviously less inclined to take changes to protect his team mates if it was likely to result in him losing out on points money if they failed to perform accordingly. Although it was sad to see the change in his riding style, i have to say and said at the S.B.A on many occasions last year that there wasnt any rider in that team capable of team riding. Time after time the Plymouth riders failed to look for their partner and it was often mentioned on the updates site that the Plymouth riders were getting in each others way, so how can we have expected Ben to put his trust in them?
  19. It was a poor meeting by all accounts. Clegg can be very proud of his achievement but Doyle was awful!!
  20. There is no doubt that he has improved this year. However, he needs to be a team player too. I have been to most home meetings this year and have seen him ride at Poole too and have never seen him look for his team mate.
