Kings Lynn V Swindon - 27-08-2014 @ 19:30
Sienna Ryan replied to dump that clutch's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Nathan Grieves is looking a bit of a concern, will the deadline to make changes looming wonder if Swindon will stick with him? -
Will Wednesdays also being the Danish league and Swedish play offs, would teams be granted facilities if needed?
-
Where did you read this Hun? The FIM calendar had no Polish speedway meetings listed this Sunday and also those connected to the Coventry Bees don't seem aware there is any. Klindt is meant to be racing in the PL isn't he?
-
EL with get priority which means Sarjeant,Bates and Clegg will all ride in this fixture. Not sure about Howarth & Klindt, how long does it take to get from Scunthorpe to Leicester?
-
Wouldn't the fact it's on sky be more reason to keep it on the Friday as more people can record it. Thats what my dad and his mates from down the pub did last season when Liverpool were looking like winning the title, they just recorded it and checked updates on their phones. they would have been doing the same on the Friday if meeting had been on that date. That way they don't get to miss live speedway and would still get to watch the Football back later. Speedway being their first love This would have been a huge meeting for both King's Lynn and bees fans

Oh no, that's not good. Hopefully nothing too serious and he will be back soon. -
If no facility as well as no Garrity or Howarth then surely Horton can't think he would get a bigger crowd on the Thursday than he would have with a full team on the Friday, even with the football. Can see why Kings Lynn agreed to the change. Bees fans I know seemed to have a lot of positives to say about Horton recently and was nice atmosphere and even fans applauding him last time I was at the stadium. However this seems to be a huge backwards Step. I feel he may have been ill advised by somebody. Out of interest: had he had more people contacting him or complaining about the clash and not able to attend when on the 5th Or now it had been moved to the 4th?
-
Was really looking forward to having a night at the speedway on the 5th to see what would have been a exciting fixture. However my friends can't make the 4th so looks like we will now miss out. Spoke to a few people when arrived at work not long ago and they are disappointed as cant make the Thursday either due to kids or work commitments. Do feel for the Bees and King's Lynn fans. Oh well, what can the fans do. We will maybe save the money and go and see Lakeside V Poole on the 5th instead now if definitely no bees meeting.
-
Haha. I have looked and good news for King's Lynn is they will be at strength with all 7 riders still available. Bad news for Bees is they go from having a full team to having No Garrity, Howarth or Hansen (is there a facility for Hansen?) MarkyB: maybe you could change this topics heading to Cov v Bees fixture change before so embody else does and we end up with 2 threads. X

That's the problem. Horton has now moved it from the 5th to the 4th as worried fans will put footba first on the Friday. Now means riders also missing whilst before you would have had two full teams. These are a the teams riding on the 4th already Hammarby v Masarna Valsarna v Griparna Gnistorna v Örnarna Ipswich v Peterborough Sheffield v Workington Holsted v Slangerup Swindon v tbc Redcar v Rye House Does anybody know if riders from either team ride for any of them?
-
In his/her defence, it is not just few fans on here, lots of regular fans from the bees Facebook pages are no longer able to go, along with people of both teams on twitter. I know alot of people from my partners work place who were attending speedway and recording football. They said after the boredom against MK Dom at weekend, it would be better to record and fast forward lol. Do you know which meetings are on that night Hun? Surely Kings Lynn wouldn't have agreed if depleted and also I feel that would make crowds even smaller.
-
Have to say I do find this a strange decision esp when alot of football fans won't pay to go speedway and football anyway so close together. My other half and his friends were all coming to speedway on the 5th and recording Football as best of both worlds then. Speedway and Football are such different sports that would be surprised if as many fans missing as Horton thinks, after all this is CCFC and not England. Not everybody supports football, kings Lynn fans def won't, Birmingham fans won't and by the sounds of it neither do alot of Coventry fans. Agree with Mdmc82, the biggest way to lose attendance at a meeting is to replace a full team with a depleted one and change race night. Think the wishes & feelings of Those who have decided to support the team and go to speedway should come before those you decide the football and may not attend on the thur anyway.

Might have been best to mention on website that by changing the date bees now have Howarth, Garrity, Hansen (that we know of)
-
I think you usually get guests if its a rearranged fixture. I thought they would be riding in uk though. Would imagine NL cup would be rearranged but who knows
-
No polish fixtures so shouldn't be too bad and some good guests available. Will make the journey to this both home and away. Bit disappointed the meeting on 5th has moved as now means we will miss out on seeing 2 of the strongest teams as I am away 4th.
-
Thats a shame. myself and friends were going to travel to Brandon on the 5th to watch this meeting. We can't do Thursday the 4th as away until then. Feel for bees fans going from a full team to key riders missing, shame as was really looking forward to this one. oh well, guess maybe go Lakeside V Poole instead now on 5th

Rye House V Berwick Sunday 24th August
Sienna Ryan replied to DragonsDen's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Garrity is riding with a lot of back pain and has been in pain even getting on and off the bike. He said he is planning on riding all week so I'm sure he will try his hardest. he's a fighter I think this is a little harsh. Garrity does help the Coventry storm now and then(which is great to see Brits helping NL teams to develop) but this isn't at the same time as he is meant to be racing for either of his teams -
Race For The Play Offs 2014

Very true but Swindon have also got to win their home matches and hope for no rain offs. Its so tight I honestly couldn't pick the 2 teams. Great to see though as this is what the league should be -

Unfortunately you only have to look on social media sites or listen to talk at the different stadiums to know that riders & fans are not happy with the way Darcy is being treated with regards to the action for failing his alcohol breath test. a lot feel that like other riders (Dudek, Kennett) he should have been suspended straight away whilst investigated. sad to see a lot of ill feeling at the moment. Hearing could be the end of this week from what Peter Oakes posted on twitter
