... and there is a basketball match in town! Pyrintö plays mens finals, 3rd game tied at 1-1. Over 4000 there last thursday to see the first one. It was moved to the ice hockey rink after last years finals when tey were only allowed to take 1500 or so to their usual place and people were left out. It's on at 4pm. Atleast Finland has no game tomorrow in the ice hockey worlds.

Suvantokatu is probably closed from Koskikeskus downwards. I would probably check if it's possible to park at either P-Hämppi or at the railwaysation park house. They are not far... But if the meeting drags to a fourth hour, they might be closed? There's a big car park about 500 meters from the stadion. You drive along (outwards from city) Hatanpään Valtatie and turn right from the third lights towards Hatanpään sairaala. The crossroads is next to the big metso factory. Then continue about 300 meters and there's a big car park for Metso people on your right. Leave your car there and if there's a ticket when you come back, it was your call...

Maybe they expect racing incidents and will pick up the live broadcast soon after heat 9?

I'm so old that I've fell off the wagon on whats going on... There's usually a pretty good service on my sofa nowadays, but thats off limits now! It will most likely be a full house on saturday. I spoke to a restaurant keeper a while back (one of THE people in his business in Tampere) and all the bars and restaurants within a walking distance from Ratina will be packed. The one's at Koskikeskus by the river are popular for nightlife, Ilona is the one I've been to previous times. Also you could/should check Plevna for beer and food, Salud for spanish food (excellent). Other pubs and bars are Paapan Kapakka (live jazz every night, excellent), London Pub, Bricks, Teerenpeli (they have their own whisky and many beers)... Do those and you're drunk enough. I'd also visit Pyynikin näkötorni for coffee+donut and go up the tower to see the sights. Näsinneula is the other spike in Tampere, by the amusement park. Top notch restaurant at the top. One more is Tammelantori, thats where you eat your "Tapolan mustamakkara" from wrapped paper. 200 gr is the perfect starters proportion, then you ask for the special jam for it to dip. You drink milk with all that. My sauna is closed for renovations. Having some problems with the seats and their mounting on the wall. Just read or heard smoewhere from one of the promoters that 15k is the max for speedway. Been in the belief that it would be 15,5k.

5 from the other two, only 4 from Leicester. Then add two wild cards and two reserves each final. Thats your 16+2. Worth noting that the usual "if no FMNR rider qualifies, then only x amount of riders will quali from that semi" is missing from the allocations spreadsheet. So the local representative will always come from the wildcards for each final. And it really is 5+5+4 that will qualify regardless of the results.

I spoke to an elderly gent at Forssa las year. He's been following lt for 50 years and seen races with up to 8 riders. He said 5 was ok, didnt miss the sixth.

The money bit is quite impressive, I have to admit. Wonder how long that purse remains open?
