Any probable tracks to host a(ny) meeting on Oct 3rd, the sunday after Torun? PZM calendar was empty and dont find a mention of one on the Pitkos site.

Timo Lahti and Timi Salonen (U21) me thinks are certain for us. Jesse Mustonen and Tero Aarnio fight for the second spot. They both deserve it, either way someone will not be happy.

My bet is did they apply to host it? Challenge is the icing on the FIM speedway cake and it’s theirs to decide who hosts it. I seriously doubt they had that many to choose from. And the question regarding the runoff for 1st… Was stupid. There’s always a runoff for podium place, thats how they are determined.

Wonder if Thomsens wheel is spinning again… Even when its not. Been watching N&K for almost 20 years now and never thought I’d say this but they’ve run out of stories Nothing wrong with Madsens bike or him. The track today is not for him, too grippy. Should just forget this one.

I had seen the poster for Brokstedt, didnt find it right away now so just went with a comparable tenner. And with this, I must say this was the second time this week I missed speedway.org. EDIT: our Dutch friend, leader in his field me thinks should make it easier on his site to navigate in past results. Just a thought…

Damn you Germans are cheap Just a week ago at our local service station I saw a mother wrapping 3 mini tomatoes to go from her plate after she was finished… I still remember people turning back in front of us on the queue when they found out the tickets were 13 and not 11 or some similar in Wolfslake 2004. And that was a good meeting that ended in a runoff between PK (not faller but the real deal) and Billy Hamill. We didnt turn back having walked the last hour to the track. So I checked and the purse for this meeting was 6800 euros. So if that lot payed 10€ each to get in, prize money was covered. The meeting permit in UEM meetings is not that expensive, and in Finnish scale the expense for this meeting would have been around 3k, below 4k. Some of that covered with sponsorship. Remember I have NO IDEA what it cost to run a meeting in Broksted. Glad they did do it and Danny got his name in the books.

It doesnt need to be in Germany. But these meetings need a club/track/promotion that is willing to take the financial risk of running them. This meeting was originally set to be ridden in late April. I guess DMSB have done their best to find a new track over the summer to save face in UEM. All FIM lt meetings have been called off, and now LT of nations in NL as well. Personally I’m surprised this meeting is going a head.

I knew I was on thin ice and didit anyway

This was the second (if not third) track in Germany willing to host the meeting. At this time (especially since it seems all other track racing in Germany has been cancelled dueto covid), one should just ve happy that there is a meeting to ride in.

News now out that after Antti Vuolas was ruled out with a back injury from his fall in the u23 final, there was also a possible covid exposure within the remaining three racing teams in the national team. A decision was then made on monday to withdraw the whole team to allow the organisers maximum time to make necessary changes. I wonder about the amount of rubbish hitting the fan had there really been (test results out now, neg) a covid positive person or persons in the Seinäjoki pits last weekend. Every rider was there with their crews and we’ve yet to reach halfway of our season…

I took it away having remembered in the morning that it’s now common practise for FIM and UEM to remind FMN’s that they want to be the first to publish these lineups.

Our own U23 final was yesterday. Salonen won, Hyyry 2nd with Säyriö 3rd. Vuolas fell in the final and missed todays meeting on doc’s orders.

Why bother continuening a discussion regarding the rulebook starting with a word IF. What does the rulebook say for 2021? I’m not bothering to find out, because I bet it dont reveal the true process of the selection.
