2016-what To Do With Jarrick Hample
f-s-p replied to OveFundinFan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Current rulebook The total race points scored by each rider during the whole Event (Heats 123) will be credited as Grand Prix points in the overall Championship classi cation. Rules change, dont make bets with 15 year old info. -
Which is not at all what currently happens during close season. Been meaning to dig in to this but havent had the time.

Some help would be much appreciated! What are the track widths and banking percentages at the Norfolk Arena. Was reading rulebooks and they set limits. Comparing that to the stories from the KL track I started to wonder whats going on...

I'm reading straight from the rulebook and it states very clearly that only things mandatory to meet are length and width. Thats 260 -425 meters, 10m+ on straights and 14m + on bends. IMO reshaping bends means making them sharper, thats always bad. Or making them more round with width is almost always good. -
Another quoted sum for a decent Danish rider is 100k in sponsorship for a year. Thats not as reliable as the season cost naturally 'cos no one seen the books... With that he's halfway the season already...
-
The guy spending 200k £... Could easily be one of the gp guys from Denmark. Thats about the quoted cost of a season on the highest of high level in speedway. That will include about 100k van km's, about 60 plane take offs and 30k in mechanic salaries... Thats already 86k spent.

Never Seen So Many 'off The Shelf' Jawa's In One Place...
f-s-p replied to Gresham's topic in Years Gone By
It's a "video" of a trip to Leningrad by Kalevi Kyyhkynen (former rider and then manager of the Helsinki club in Finland). It's from the year I was born, 1977. They mention 15 bikes being prepared and Kyyhkynen himself is enlisting for the team at 2:58. Dont know if a joke or not. There's a couple of other of his speedway videos from that same speedwaysuomi.com account. Think one of the was from a Wembley final. -

Should Ex Riders Get Into Speedway Free?
f-s-p replied to Grachan's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Been to a meeting once at Reading in 2004? And sat at the bar with M Holloway. He was better entertainment than the meeting. -
Was comparing list's yesterday and missed that one. I spoke with Nike Lunna yesterday and he told me about this. Said that the starting list had been published with a new name to replace an injured GB rider without him being asked. Thats not right, and his injury had not been made public by then. Another "trustworthy" (still is) person confirmed this to me. So I asked. Thanks for setting me straight. EDIT: starting to think that the wild card rider has created some confusion...

Should Ex Riders Get Into Speedway Free?
f-s-p replied to Grachan's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Like pugwash said, it's the promoters business and he can decide. On top of that just create a system where BSPA give's out UK season tickets for people meeting the criteria. Freeloading is a common problem and not only is money from the gates but negativity among the people that bust their ärses to have meetings on. -
One more "will never happen" thrown out the window as a Pardubice rider gets Prague wild card...

Danes Threaten Boycott Of Gp Quali
f-s-p replied to iris123's topic in International World of Speedway
I did read somewhere that his kids are now old enough to travel alone as they play golf and that he has the time to get interested in speedway again. I bet he's a good mindföcker and knows tricks. But still... Time will tell. I remember when Secher was made public I asked who's he. He did well enough while it was his reign... -

I'm surprised. He's been practically out of the sport for at least a decade. Feel free to correct me. -
World U21 Team Championships 2016
f-s-p replied to racers and royals's topic in International World of Speedway
Of the danes I regocnice all names from minispeedway, but still I think Jacobsen was the best of them in U21 quali's this year. And he was over in Finland in 2014 to do minispeedway Nordics. -
Seen the heat now. Not as ugly as reports suggested, but still obvious. BUT! Had Hans not been in the situation that "qualified anyway", was he gonna get excluded???? Because when he says he has engine probs, how can the ref say he did not? My problem with speedway refereeing is that it's too subjective. Like figure skating, about opinions! It should be more/all about what happened and just call it, dont think about why. But in the end, I do understand to some extent that it is a bit like figure skating.

Personally the only problem I see here is how on earth the old dog with a butt ugly beard managed to do it so that EVERYONE (apparently) saw it.

Still, the wild cards for the series (and I assume) the substitute list were both? approved by the new U21 series commission. Which most likely consisted of a 1Sport member and 1-2 FIM members, most likely Castagna and the sporting director. Isn't that Gombeaud by the way, former CCP secretary? So it's not necessarily "that ugly". Myself I have not followed Przepelski that much (other than confirmed the pronouncing of him at a Warsaw restaurant ). Did ask a friend abouth him though and he said that the expectations towards him are just too high after having a killer of a season in 2015. He's still as good but it's just not enough. There might be some truth in that.
