  1. Having your boot off the footrest does not mean you're not in control. He had it in the air the whole straight. Last time I looked at the replay it seemed his bike jumped off the track as he put it sideways and at that time Faller was there to take the contact. Holder was gonna get d'qed 98 times from a 100 from that one. And Faller could most likely stayed on unless it was a final place at stake.
  2. We have very good hours for practise all year round, envied by many and for ourselves to restrict to keep it manageable. Hosting meetings is another thing, we cant have any between mid april to mid august. That very meeting with1k crowd would have been against our planning permission if it had happened the day before. It's bizarre and a bit funny, but we have track now.
  3. In some places I had to kick the banking a bit to make sure it was 2m from the fence. I guess the camera man forgot to make the colours match before he pushed REC. Only thing I did during the meeting was bite my nails and helped in the kiosk. The opening night wasnt as epic as I had hoped, but we had the biggest league meeting crowd in a decade in Finland with 1115 and pulled it trough in 2 hrs. We were also quite lucky in many ways, but some say you make your own luck.
  4. Speedway SM-liiga from the very RAW but real and newly opened Nokia speedway track in Finland. https://youtu.be/-RAdtj0Bz7I
  5. Pretty strong lineup fo sunday if you ask me! Add Timo Lahti to that and it only gets better...
  6. Think they can. They're doing an individual league in Denmark this season and I dont think it was "full" EDIT: what I meant was that should allow foreign riders.
  7. Lahti cant ride as he was part of the swedish swc team. Interesting that the fim has announced his name after saying themselves he cant do it. And no, hasnt ridden lt before.
  8. They might be the cheapest, but they are Polish. And I have NOTHING AGAINST Polish people, but been doing business with KW, WK and whatnot since 2006. You are not saying where you from, but why not go to Dstar?? EDIT: And pre payment is the way things work in this area of speedway business, as products are made to measure.
  9. A detail that has struck me in the face during an EXTREMELY wet summer regarding our track: drainage! Covers or no covers, good track or not, if the drainage is not up to the job, covers dont matter. Extreme example is Munkebo in Denmark, which I believe to be close to sea level. I read that somewhere, during a season when their track was deemed crap all summer. What can you do if the ground water is looming only 0,5 meters under??? Even the best possible drainage on-site dont matter either, if the pipes are crashed 50 meters away... That example is from real life as well...
  10. 1. Over water the track and let it soak overnight. Water it again in the morning. About 500. 2. A tractor with spikes fitted at the back, rip the top layer to pieces. 200 tops. 3. Highway blade to re-do and straighten the top layer. 2-5 hours, 100 per hour. 4. Anything heavy to pack it all back in with moisture. 200-300. So thats the 1,5k recipe to redo a speedway track. These are prices I've paid during the past summer for track builders, as our track has no equipment of our own. EDIT: would think prices are about the same in Germany as over here in Tampere.
  11. For the past month all the talk regarding engines on here has been way off topic. It's like people think that the bikes dont need to be ridden anymore??
  12. So you are saying FIM pays for it as a part of the promotion deal?
  13. Might be some truth in that. But maybe the people that come in, having seen the books and all, having a vision instead of your "it's just downhill and nice and negative cos actually I know jackrubbish" like people, there might still be a future if and when things actually get done?
  14. There has to be more because there are more clubs than Poole still in the game and regurarly new "promoters" buy clubs to come in.
  15. But thats how it goes, at least it did. Locals hand over the track after fridays practise. And if it's not your sandpit, how can anyone expect you could make it perfect since you dont know the mix of it and how it behaves in sun or with water.
  16. Why couldnt he??? It's about federations co-operating in a VERY allowing and flexible enviroenment created by current CCP supremos.
  17. Heard from someone who's been a conducter in trains, the one who checks tickets, for his 2nd year now. 90% of people are more than a bit thick....
  18. Why? Have no problem with him getting a nod. Was talking today and said that riders are now getting in from the politically correct friends list as the rulebook has been followed and route is clear...
  19. Only way to do it really... which is why I thought it was a daft idea to do with a GP challenge. But anyways, it's ridden now, results are in so time to live with it...
