And the problem is the ref, not the riders.

Pit gate open or not, the heat will be under new two minutes. It’s not a problem.

Who is financing speedway in Poland ?
f-s-p replied to PolskiZuzel's topic in International World of Speedway
As I understand, this is the system how Polish sport operates, not just speedway. -
Refining this a bit. -4 to -6 is apparently the optimum. Thats when its ”top form” resistance wise. Had a talk with som ice hockey people and they told me this. Chemicals are no longer POP. And remember I’m talking about ice. 23 heats of ice racing is gonna rape what ever ice in any form you gonna give them...

The new scoring system is rubbish.

Meeting SR’s on Fim-live website has lenghts and widhts, but they have nothing to do with shape of the track. Gmaps is your best place to look how different they are to each other.

Temperature dictates it. You try and freeze a track with cold water in -20c you get layers on top of each other that will come off when racing. If its really cold the ice will chop up and chunks could get loose... As a kid I used to help with hockey rinks outside. Give us -5 to -10 and warm water we’d give you a rink second to none. Thats when the warm water has enough time to melt the top of the excisting ice and becomes solid... Some hockey rinks use chenimicals in the water, or at least did, to help with the ice. Soft ice stays together better, I’d say its more predictable to ride on than the kind that lets go when you turn to a corner. What is good or best is subjective. I’d guess a well prepared track with -5 to -10 on raceday is as good as it can get. Never heard anything positive if it goes below -20. On the other end of the scale it naturally starts to melt after 0, so its somewhere in between...

With my english I’d say hard. Also a problem in Almaty apparently is the water that is used for the ice. Whether it was the fact that they are so high up or that the water comes from even higher it has different charasteristics compared to the one thats in Heerenveen for example.

The way Weber seems to hit his chest to the handlebars might have been the main reason for his injuries? Jesper seems to have spent all his mojo by now for 2020. You just cant go all season being in the right place at the right time and snapping all the crashes...

Dont know if you getting old Doug or have I seen too much of these, but it wasnt all that bad. But it could have been...

Meeting start time at Forssa has been confirmed to 6 pm and tickets are available through tiketti.fi. Neste Rally is on the same weekend and they usually drive the Jämsä area on fridays. Thats about 80km north from Tampere while Forssa is about the same south for the saturday.

Okay, this post is quite reasonable compared to the one before. Still it lacks names and is producing is not the same as will lead. And also, the good ones need to ride on the continent or all them programs will mount to nothing. That is if you want to produce international riders at the top, not championship heat leaders.

OOOOHH COME ON!!! Jokes have a thread of their own in another section.

Regular 16+2 since we had 2 riders withdrawing due to various reasons. One quali heat for 1+2 slots in the lineup. All this fuss for what looks like nothing looking at the forecast. Well not nothing actually, my reputation is growing if nothing else...

Got a mention on a closed facebook forum for my efforts to solve a problem in a situation where a win-win is the one answer that wont happen... Basic stuff. This is where it got noticed, so I answered as well.

Been here for 15 years Timo and learned more from the sport than you ever will! Preciate the daggers on my back protector, couldnt care less!

So we got the spreadsheet, made the draw with one quali heat b4 the meeting, rode it on paper and end up with a tie for 2nd, 4th and 6th. And those tie’s need a draw.
-
We have a situation in ice racing where we have 21 entries for a meeting. The weather looks like there wont be a possibility to have a qualifier so the best solution from several crap ones is to have the requested 20 rider format meeting with top 2 to the final after prelis and 3-6 to semi for the remaining 2 final slots. Those two extra heats make it as even as it can ever be. Far from perfect though...

Thank you very much, we'll see what we can do with it!

I’m all out of ideas to find a ”traditional” (not KO) meeting format for the specs mentioned in the title. Speedway.org seems to have got a clean up and stuff is gone. I’m confident such a meeting has taken place in the past decade. Can anyone help?

Factory support for a Class rider

Knew that, just needed confirmation. And no they are not back to total loss. And yes I’m fairly young, probably... -
Factory support for a Class rider

U mean the ones that dont absorb anything... I think it’s a good idea, the mats. But in reality we’ve had discussions on do they actually mean rubbish. Especially in other disciplines riders travel with motorhomes to meetings that spill more oil during the weekend than their bikes use. No one cares. -

Dont know what your on about but they are supposed to be enviroenmental mats that absorb the possible oil spill, not ugly looking living room ones. -

Did it absorb the needed amount of oil?
