The same goes for every country. But I for one dont know when and what something will happen.
-
There's always been someone missing, injured or otherwise. And besides, wont all champions of 2020 in any sport have the same stigma?
-
Nothing wrong with what you say. It's up to the promoters. Maybe they thought nobody would come and see the riders you mentioned because they are not good enough? I know I would not fly over to see a weeks worth of meetings with that lot riding... It's not simple to fix the rulebook.
-
The rulebook wont become any more simple until you have enough domestic riders to fill the teams. With no riders you need all the d/u and guest and them rules to have a chance of full teams in meetings. The problem is not new at the top league, it goes back probably 30 years.

..and make them all sweat so each of them weigh 72kg and not one 1 gram more or less. Also for aerodynamics the shorter guys need to wear higher helmets so the "drag" is equal on all.

2020 FIM Long Track
f-s-p replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in Grasstrack, Sidecar, Short Track and Cycle Speedway
Been told today that France has cancelled tourist season and Spain is waited to do the same. Germany might do something about that and so on... Also Sweden is an interesting place at the moment, I'd say they've closed their borders and kept the party going resulting way higher amount of deaths than we have. Not that it affects the Forssa meeting in any other way, but how would riders come here with ferries closed for tourists? U drive through the covid mad Sweden up to Haaparanta and back down? Through Germany and Baltic via St Petersburg and Russia? Not really sure how it can be done? And then possibly be quaranteened here for 14 days before the meeting and in your home country when going back for another 14 days... And all the info I've posted might be outdated in 2 hrs if China is back in trouble and they bother letting us know... So actually in my own opinion, cant see Forssa going ahead. Varkaus has recently cancelled the U21 EC semi. Think they went public with it with the wrong reasons, but still the best option was to cancel it now. We are in talks of having at least some of the speedway season even with the 500 limit, since that's not a problem crowd wise in Finland. Also since everything else is not happening, we might get some publicity. -

So? Do it with riders that are willing to come.

Why not ride it in the UK for closed stadia with riders that are willing to come?

2020 FIM Long Track

At the moment we have a ban of gatherings of 500+ and that goes until the end of July. Apparently the goverment will announce new rulings next week. Lately our Covid news has been that the first wave has been handled with good results and that means the actual cräp will hit the fan later in the summer. I was reading news during the weekend regarding Angela Merkel and her opinions about the virus and how all this will develope towards the end of summer. Now THAT dont look too good. Will any rider be allowed to leave their country let alone enter Finland in August? What about quarantees? So your question... I have bugger all idea about the chances of it going ahead, sorry. -
Been 40 years since Hyde Road... Seriously doubt that the weather patters are the same...
-
Two totally didferent parts of the country with different local governing and rules like iris123 has pointed out. Different promoters as well. And only a day since the qualis were cancelled. Not that baffling at all.

If thats correct, thats the chance Timo Lahti has been waiting for.

My wife works for Bauer Media in radio, think she said Yvonne the owner is about 7th richest woman in the world or Europe or what ever. Doesnt really matter if they say your networth is 3,2 billion... So yes, it's a bit different for Pinegen...
-
U think then that they would need to ask (Y)our opinion on every option before making a decision?

Actually just picked the JC covered edition from the mailbox... So make it thursday delivery for this week. I like my magazines in paper, never been that fussed about digital newspapers or magazines. And now that I've changed my main occupation, I stare at the screen (actually I have two) 7-9 hrs a day so reading my Speedway Star from the screen just dont feel that appealing...

Over here in Finland I now get the Spar on wednesdays, the same day the next one is published. I used to get it regurarly on the friday, which was good. This has been going on for at least this year. Roayl Mail + Posti dont add up too well, unless we talking about what they charge. It dont have to be a lot late from the flight over here. And if it misses monday, it wont be delivered until wed as tuesdays are not delivery dates over here.
-
No it was called off cos I said I couldnt come.
-
Just my thoughts, but I would scrap SoN this season just to give dates for other meetings. SGP will most likely be ridden in some extent, but jamming all FIM WC meetings in to 3-4 months is not happening, something needs to go.

This quote makes sense, my answer is not about the replies after it. People die from flu every year, for a reason unknown to me, this the first time its big time news. We had SARS, but that even that did not shut things down.
-
Situation developes, we’ll see. Our ice hockey has been cancelled, all sports and activities cancelled for juniors but we’ll see what happens with Daugavpils. Not that fussed honestly, out of my hands.
-
If that remains the case it’ll all have to be cancelled. I have 1k€ worth of hotels booked for Daugavpils, another in the ferry trips and all... No tickets yet but what ever

Finnish final postponed. New date Dec 27th 2020. EDIT. The weather did it.
-
Finland has set a no-no to gatherings of 500+ people until the end of May. Our ice final a week from now seems a no go at this point.
