Forget about pessimism, I dont even want to think what their chances are realistically!

Niko Siltaniemi the same age as Katajisto, born in 1991. Made a lot of progress last season and has progressed a lot this season too. For what I know he doesn't have the best equipment, but he's only seventeen, keen and willing to travel. I dont think any of our guys has seen the track before, so I really dont have any high hopes.

Kalle Katajisto, Niko Siltaniemi and Jari Mäkinen will travel to Fjelsted for the U19 qualifier. iris123, stay tuned....

What I read from the Swedish links it said Kosciecha moved away... If indeed he was moved by the start marshall, it makes it all even a bit more silly. Well... as bad refereeing calls are made, they are made by a Swedish ref it seems. I'm sure Liverstam and other Swedish forum members saw how Finland scored against team USA in ice hockey just a couple weeks ago... It was a Swedish video ref that approved the goal...

I thought it was a pretty good meeting between Smederna and Masarna. The way Saifutdinov rode against Jagus in the last race was very hard but entertaining. Other good battles there too! I cant really understand how J3000nas Davidsson was complaining about the track in the press today, there honestly werent that many ruts in it.

Here's an interesting link regarding Tero Aarnio. Go Tero, having the time of his life for sure! EDIT: There is a a very heated and onesided discussion going on on the Finnish forum. Appe Mustonen isn't happy at all that he didn't get a nomination for the U21 qualifier. Plenty of people shouting and calling others a$$kissers and such... Oh how I would like to join that party... Those were the days....

Here, saturday 31st of May. U21 World Championship Scandinavian qualifying round. We did some maths yesterday, since there's a demand within FIM to scrap the Scandinavian qualifier and spread the riders among others. It's a fact that this is probably the toughest of the qualifiers. I mean look at some of the riders that qualified last weekend? I wouldn't be surprised to see a last years finalist to not qualify from Pori. But the money to make the trip from Finland to Slovenia for example make's me cry... Lineup for Pori 1. JONASSON Tomas Sweden 2. LARSEN Peter Juul Denmark 3. KATAJISTO Kalle Finland 4. EKLÖF Linus Sweden 5. GRAVERSEN Jan Denmark 6. LINDGREN Ludvig Sweden 7. SOLBERG Tord Norway 8. NILSSON Kim Sweden 9. HANSEN Kenneth Kruse Denmark 10. MADSEN Leon Denmark 11. TÖRNQVIST Robin Sweden 12. RISAGER Morten Denmark 13. MÄKINEN Jari Finland 14. GUSTAFSSON Simon Sweden 15. LAHTI Teemu Finland 16. KLINDT Nicolai Denmark Sub 17. SILTANIEMI Niko Finland Sub 18. HEIKKILÄ Aarni Finland

It's getting better as well, they worked on it a lot during the training camp in Hallstavik. Finnish nominations for the qualifier at Pori are: Kalle Katajisto, Jari Mäkinen, Teemu Lahti and the reserves Niko Siltaniemi and Aarni Heikkilä. The deadline for entries was yesterday, so a full lineup is expected today. I know Risager, Jonasson, Gustafsson, Klindt are certain starters. What a meeting in prospect!

The cancelled meeting hasn't been re-arranged yet, so I dont have a date for it. Finnish calendar is on page four of this thread.

Kalle Katajisto won Yyteri Speedway yesterday at Pori. He was very good. Looked like a boiled spaghetti on his bike and kept going faster and faster as the record long meeting progressed. I mean 3 hrs 20 minutes from the start of the parade to the end of the prize giving ceremony. Teemu Lahti was the unfortunate one in this meeting. Katajisto made a mess of himself entering the 3rd bend and LAhti who was straight behind him had to lay his bike down to avoid collision. In the process he hit the fence hard enough so his shoulder popped out. He'll be back in two weeks but still. Mustonen looked very good too with overtaking riders from the outside on several occasions. My list of riders for Finnish rep's in the U21 qualifier is Lahti, Mäkinen, Katajisto, Mustonen, Siltaniemi with two these as reserves. I heard yesterday from two different sources that the fences at the Seinäjoki track have been demolished this week. They are building new ones as we speak apparently. I have a strong reason to believe that they will be made according to the Swedish standard.
-
Thats pretty good No statement given yet, Yyteri is at Pori.

QUOTE (Rob B @ May 15 2008, 10:50 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Last time I went to Gothenburg it was called off! The track was test-ridden yesterday by Hancock, Davidsson and Lindback and they gave it their approval according to Swedish press.

What is the situation regarding the track at Prague? Has it been re-laid like hinted last year, or is it the same old same old.

Lineup for Yyteri Speedway next saturday. This will act as a qualifier for the U21 WC round at the same track in two weeks. 1. Markku Autio U21 2. Teemu Lahti U21 3. Jouni Viljanen U21 4. Juho Ruuska 5. Jens Oskarsson - SE 6. Juha Mäkelä has withdrawn himself. 7. Timo Lahti U21 8. Appe Mustonen U21 9. Tomi Reima 10. Marko Suojanen 11. Kalle Katajisto U21 12. Aarni Heikkilä U21 13. Niko Siltaniemi U21 14. Jukka Nieminen U21 15. Alexander Edberg - SE 16. Niklas Larsson - SE It will be a 20 heat + semifinal from which two best will advance to the final with two best scorers from the preli's. I'm told Mäkelä was the rider who managed to escape involvement in the Villanen crash last friday. He was between the fence and Villanen, but managed just to accelerate enough to avoid Villanen. I didn't know this until yesterday... I can now understand why he was a squiet as he was when we chatted after the meeting.

It has just been announced that Vaasa is pulling their team from Kaupunki Cup after Timo Villanen's accident. I'm still waiting for official press release on Villanen. Rumours haven't changed much to my disappointment, it looks like he's not walking again.

Thank you for the info!

I know that the Terenzano SGP semi is 8 weeks away, but do you have any idea about the start time? I understand they always? start after sunset in Lonigo. Is it the same in Terenzano?
-
Aarnio has a good chance of getting there. Riders like Lehtinen, Aarnio and even Mäkinen were all known to be busy and riding around Europe from the start. The door is/was left open for them to prove themselves. I'm with you on this one, Aarnio has been surprisingly good.

Hautamäki, Laukkanen, Nieminen and Kylmäkorpi are certain with the fifth decided later. They all have websites and you can find the links to their sites via the JMS-link in my sig. You need pics?
