Finland will have a training camp at Rovaniemi in mid-December. Riders wanting a place in the quali's will have to attend. Tommy Flyktman is apparently giving a pass for the season a head.
-
At the end of November according to Spar.
-
We'll call it the 16th! edit: isracing.net has your info (23-24)also. Mine was from the official provisional release by FIM.
-
Is there a link to the calendar other than the apparently sh1te translation at the german site mentioned. I was told that the UEM congress isn't until the end of the month so I naturally thought we'd have to wait for this one a bit longer.
-
St Johan is on January 16th!!?? Did you mean the Insbruck final on February 20-21st or has the FIM calendar gone bellyup already?
-
I actually quite liked that FIM used the term race off for the "semifinals" when there was three in the gp quali. Looks like Joni Keskinen and Jari Mäkinen again for the UEM quali from Finland. Why only two U19 qualifiers!?
-
The allocations are out but I've not seen them yet. Did heard though that Finland will be in Lonigo for the SWC quali (weaker quali so a real chance to go through), Plzen for the U21 team (with AU, PL and some other, does it matter anymore ) two slots in Balakovo for the GP quali and one in Fjelsted.

You think it would be a good bet to host a GP round at Helsinki Olympic stadium (a venue/city that has not seen speedway in about 50 years) and rely on travelling fans to fill it to its 35k+ (about) capacity?! Or maybe advertise it a little and get 30k+ locals to attend also!

Kauko for Rospiggarna. Nice pic here!

Miscalculated... Now there's an uderstatement of the season!

Details Of Bsi Deal For Swc At Gorzow!
f-s-p replied to Trees's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
It all sounds well thought and planned, good for BSI! -
Kalle Katajisto's fine performances in the PL have really boosted the figures for my 2009 thread as they are up again from last year. The annual track racing parlament is held on november 14 at Pori. Also under discussion is the league structure for next year. 4TT should survive as the meeting format for another two years as is decided a year ago. Rider shortage will only become bigger next season as some of our youngsters are lured to riding abroad are older ones are retiring... Not really a good set of topics but we'll see what happens.

2010 is ready and waiting to do a toninho to Emil. They should be given the odds for it to happen already.

Finland is not really on the wishlist to appear on TV in the SWC so I would expect us to get put up against Czezc and Germany in Abensberg. There's a real shift of generation in the Finnish team for next season, our squad should look something like this: Katajisto, Nieminen, Kylmäkorpi, Timo Lahti, Hautamäki and Aarnio.

Norway at Abensberg for the SWC quali!
-
I actually asked for them and got a reply that said they were going to the federations first. isracing.net is already quoting that they were given 6 places in ice racing (2+2+2) and a place in the team final too. Not long then...

Just went through the calendar and realised that it's 98,5 % full of saturdays!

It's been one week that we've talked about Woof and EK for the WC and I'm afraid thats it's gonna turn out real. I think it was great what Zorro did, nobody wanted him in it, Ghostwalker being the biggest antifan of them all (from Zorro's hometown and all...) but all the best for Zorro! He made it!! You could do the same. UK make's a difference in world speedway still. Very strong domestic structure (still), loads of meetings and as the other leagues are caught up with their pay structure UK might survive. But the fact remains that you lot suck on track on the international scene. Finland does too, but you know we only had 29 licenced Finnish riders riding in the two Finnish leagues last year and about half of them are KC level, beaten by a half a lap by Katajisto. Sweden has 200+ licenses (all combined) and Denmark reportedly (Spar 2009) 800+. On the other hand, maybe it's like F1, we only have a few, but they are the best! Aint that sort of crap, Cardiff was only a few hundred short from the year before even with P'borough SWC..? With the global situation were are in. I have first hand experience about it. And more regarding about Cardiff, (still) there are only so many people badmouthing the GP on here, yet Cardiff still gets 40k+: full stop.

For the second year running GB has been given a home qualifier to enable them to get through for the race off... BECAUSE THEY SUCK! The tactical and Joker rules are the playing rules of 2009+, speedway in GB is 1990-... It's not really a secret that a few years back GB was moved to a different Event (1->2 or vice verca) because they were afraid that Finland would drop them from the race off... We wóuld have done it too! Of course that was then...
-
I thought you said money talks. To me it means they'll have to pay for their place by bringing in sponsorship like most of the WC rally drivers do for their team and some of the F1 for their teams. Only in speedway IMG is the team. If Hagon Shocks puts in another 50k in Eddies pocket, I really dont see how that will benefit the "team"...

In which way, what company is Kennett bringing in to sponsor a GP or two during his season in the GP. Kennet and Woffinden and two totally different stories, wake up. Second fact to this matter is that no other word regarding the WC's is given since a "torunboss" said Kennett and Woffinden were in last weekend...
