So????? Nothing wrong with the place for a such a meeting... "Deepthroat" said yesterday that the plan is to go for a 6 round series in this. Stupid if you ask me and the reason for my opinion is money. These meetings are/should be the most expensive of the season for these riders and 1hitwonders can be ruled out in as little as three rounds if you ask me.

You'll survive with beer and you'll survive just as well with not knowing everything that is written in german... Aakko only said about Insbruck that there's not much hope if you plan to ride on friday to sunday and start building the ice up on thursday...

Both fell and Lehtinen excluded. Lehtinen appeared too be a bit disappointed with the decision, thinking it could have gone the other way. In the re-run Malinen was leading Aakko and as Aakko passed Malinen tried a bit too hard and crashed on his own. Second re-rerun saw Seppänen taking his first individual Finnish championship medal on his 25th try. Good for him!

Antti Aakko is going to give the test match a miss due to a hectic schedule. Here's the lineup/draw for the Nordic final at Lahti: 1 Antti Aakko 2 Jo Saetre 3 Per Olof Serenius 4 Mats Järf 5 Stefan Svensson 6 Henri Malinen 7 Magnus Lundgren 8 Teppo Toivola 9 Fredrik Olsson 10 Kaj Lehtinen 11 Peter Koij 12 Jouni Seppänen 13 Mats Svensson 14 Matti Hanninen 15 Fredrik Johansson 16 Janne Vilponen 17 Jussi Nyrönen P-KMMK 18 Timo Kankkunen P-KMK

I believe he's retired alltogether from track racing. It look's likely that a Finnish speedway team will enter Jensen Cup this season, the Swedish 2nd division. Something that has been enquired about frequently here. After Jouni Seppänen managed to lure a Finnish team in to Swedish ice racing others will now follow. Swedish riders are also coming to Finland to ride 80cc this season. This co-operation I believe is welcomed by both parties, Svemo and SML.

Welcome to the thread again! Deadline for the team line-ups for this years Extraliiga is the end of February. Four teams will take part after KMMK/Keittiöpiste decided not to enter stating rider shortage as the main reason. Teams in Extraliiga 2010 are: Haukat from Lahti are my favourites for the title after managing to track Tomi Reima, Joni Kitala, Teemu and Timo Lahti and Kalle Katajisto. Jokerit from Kauhajoki will track Niko Siltaniemi, Markku Autio, Tero Aarnio, Jiri Nieminen and Joni Keskinen. Paholaiset from Pori will return to Extraliiga after a years absence with local lads leading the team. Petri Koskela, Marko Suojanen, Aarni Heikkilä, Jouni Viljanen, Jere Lehtonen and Jari Mäkinen returning too. Kotkat from Seinäjoki will build their team around Juha Hautamäki and Rene Lehtinen. Appe Mustonen is also considered. New meeting format has been introduced with 4 teams for a match and teams racing against each other 2 vs. 2 over 18 heats. Teams will face each other three times over the meeting. Riders 1 and 2 are free regarding their average with #3 under 6,00 and #4 under 4,00. It look's promising. Seven teams entered the Kaupunki Cup with Lahti I and II, Seinäjoki i and II, Pori, Forssa and Kauhajoki. Their line-ups later. Finnish ice racing news can be found from the ice racing 2010 thread. Next weekend there are two meetings at Kauhajoki and Vaasa. The week following will see Sweden vs. Finland test match Örnsköldsvik Sweden and the weekend witnesses Finnish final at Kuusankoski and the Nordic final at Lahti. Thats it then for the seasons meetings in Finland. Team Finland has done well in the Swedish Allsvenskan and are set to win the final.
-
So he'll quit after he won his 12th Lada and will start to promote Lada speedway back home where ever.
-
Miskolc, I think it was 1.division.
-
OK, cheers!
-
Where is this coming from?
-
Test match between Sweden and Finland will go ahead at Örnsköldsvik on February 24th. Teams as follows: Finland Antti Aakko, Kai Lehtinen, Mats Järf, Henri Malinen, Seppo Siira, Janne Vilponen, Matti Hanninen, Jouni Seppänen and Jussi Nyrönen with team manager Jyri Palomäki. Sweden Per Anders Lindström, Fredrik Johansson, Per Olov Serenius, Peter Koij, Stefan Svensson, Ulf Ledström, Hans-Olov Olsén ja Robert Henderson. The "signing" of Seppo Siira has created a lot of hassle on the Finnish forum, but he is eligible and good enough and also wants to take part in this meeting so why not? EDIT: I spoke with Jouni Seppänen in early December and he was saying how well Aakko is prepared for the season. After team finals and speaking with Aakko Seppänen is even more confident that Aakko will do really well this season. EDIT II: Last test was at Tampere in 2006. Finland was slaughtered 43-65.
-
Jason and Nicki would both get loads more if they "TRicked" they GP service for their sponsors.
-
Finns are supposed to have Aakko, Lehtinen and Järf?!!! What's this you about Malinen? Or did Lehtinen withdraw from this one after he was denied access to Russia for the EC final. They demanded registration papers for his bike on the border while Jussi Nyrönen went through (like many before) with out a problem some 300km towards south at another station. Like you said a year ago, this whole meeting is a joke. I mean that in a sense that UEM tries to create something that doesn't really have a demand. I heard that the Swedes tried to make this U35 because they didn't really have anyone to enter! How come Kaminsky have an UA license after riding in the wc under RU?
-
Just read that Russian customs have forced Kai Lehtinen to withdraw himself from the EC final. They demanded some paperwork from him on the border regarding the bikes that the press release says dont even exist.
-
Assen is finals 8 and 9. Trust me, if he's in one piece, he'll be there.
-
Better change my marketing then... Been saying Speedwaysanomat is the only nordic track racing magazine... Then again, it is until they get the second issue out.
-
The qualis were 5+1 from Saalfelden and Sanok and 6 from St Johan. As "wildcards" were needed it was decided prior (look at Conkers post as a reply to me a page or two earlier regarding who qualifies) to the season that the wc's would be taken from qualis 3, 1 and 2 in this order. This is why Posa is left out. Regarding Knapp, I'd say he has qualified to the GP, reserve is enough as the system gives the opportunity to ride during the 2nd day. Maybe this is what them FIM thinks too?
-
Did anything come out of the new Swedish speedway magazine, or did it die like the last try did?
-
Mats Järf will ride instead of Seppänen and Seppänen will become team manager. Seppänen fell in Sanok and hurt himself enough to withdraw himself from this one.
-
I watched about eight heats before the feed started to play up so gave up. The ice looked really bad/soft but what do I know. A bit disappointed they did not do better...
