  1. Conkers "Posted 29 January 2012 - 09:04 PM" the results and listed the qualified riders on this page. Thats what I meant... And Makarov, Kononov and V Khomi were the disq. riders I meant.. What did someone just say on this thread about womens affect on men? You're falling behind Doug, not keeping on the pace...
  2. I spoke with Jouni Seppänen yesterday and he said that there was no talk or mention in the riders briefing at Sanok regarding the possible "disqualification" regarding qualified Russian riders in that meeting. So how Conkers got them pretty much spot on must means that the FIM asked him...
  3. from fim-live.com ++++++++++++++ 31/01/12 - 08:26 As anticipated, the Russians were again dominant in the Qualifying Rounds for the FIM Ice Speedway Gladiators World Championship held last weekend. In St.Johann, Austria they filled the first 3 places but the local riders Franz Zorn and Harald Simon took the remaining qualifying spots. A surprise elimination was that of ‘Posa’ Sernius the veteran from Sweden who never recovered from a first race disqualification and withdrew after gaining only one more point from his next two rides. The Sanok round produced one of the big surprises of the competition when Gregorz Knapp secured a podium place by finishing 3rd behind defending champion Nikolai Krasnikov and Daniil Ivanov. In Lukhovitsy, home riders filled the first 4 places with the unfancied Eduard Krysov winning the final from Makarov, Karachintsev and Kononov. The final list of qualifiers is shown below and takes into account the fact that no one country is allowed more than 6 representatives at any meeting in the Final Series. This means that Russians Vitaly Khomitsevich and Igor Konokov are relegated to the qualified substitutes list and can race only as a replacement for an injured Russian colleague. Qualified Riders: 1. Nikolay KrasnikovRussia 2. Daniil Ivanov Russia 3. Dmitry Koltakov Russia 4. Dmitry Khomitsevich Russia 5. Eduard Krysov Russia 6. Sergey Karachintsev Russia 7. Franz Zorn Austria 8. Robert Henderson Sweden 9. Grzegorz Knapp Poland 10. Harald Simon Austria 11. Jan Klatovský Czech Republic 12. Antti Aakko Finland 13. Mats Järf Finland 14. Max Niedermaier Germany 15. René Stellingwerf The Netherlands (Permanent Wild Card nominated by FIM) Qualified Substitutes are: 19. Vitaly Khomitsevich * Russia 20. Igor Kononov * Russia 21. Martin Leitner Austria 22. Stefan Svensson Sweden 23. Stephan Pleschacher Germany 24. Fredrik Olsson Sweden 25. Joakim Soderstrom Sweden 26. Fredrik Johansson Sweden 27. Josef Kreuzberger Austria 28. Janne Vilponen Finland *for injured Russian riders only The First event in the Final series will take place in Kranogorsk, Russia next weekend, 4th & 5th February. Details of the riders and the starting numbers draw will be published here shortly.
  4. 070.10.19 Rerun heat If a Referee declares the heat over after one or more riders have crossed the finish line, it shall not be re-run. Except in very special circumstances and situations that are beyond the control of the referee and have influenced the heat result. Then a heat can be re-run. Only the referee can take this decision and order a re-run. Good thing the FIM changed this rule for this year. Before they were unable to do reruns after someone had crossed the line.
  5. Knapp through from Sanok by merit with Krasnikov. Good. EDIT: As is Ivanov and Henderson. I'm pleased for Henderson, after everything he showed his place is there.
  6. spedway.org is now also disgarding a Ruskie and saying that Järf is through... Too fricking complicated. If the rulebook is online for everyone to see, how can ANYONE say that you're in and you're not, if the rules dont say so... Come on! I'm crucified as an ässhole for much less over here...
  7. Intresting is that it seems Svensson has now taken Niedermaiers slot in the finals according to aktuellspeedway quoting spw-forum.de...
  8. I got it from the fact that you are saying that Kononov is out while at this exact moment there are only 4 Russians qualified from the maximum 6 for this years series. So basically you are taking for granted that the other 4 (2 each) will qualify. Which they'll most likely do... But the rulebook states clearly, that the CCP will get together after the qualis and decide who's in or out. The SR for Lukhovitsys round did not state anything about the number of riders qualifying from any specific FMNR.
  9. So you think that a Russian travelling abroad has a better chance of qualifying than the ones riding home? Because in a way thats exactly what you are saying. To put it in another way, we do NOT yet know if he's out or not. According to the rulebook I might add. The CCP bureau will meet up after todays qualifiers to decide which (if any) Russians are left out.
  10. From what I remember, they have a say or a vote or similar...? Maybe not, but I definately did not know that ice racing was "outsourced" as well. EDIT: it was outsourcing, not downsourcing...
  11. SO LAST SEASON! Not taking a dig at Jansson here, but Svemo itself isn't making the best decisions in any track racing sport at the moment...
  12. Whats this elsewhere? I'm interested enough to find out what made Jansson decide to quit. Knowing the rules helps at times...
  13. Seeing is believing or something, but not necessarily what really happens... 074.3.3 Wild Card rider One Wild Card rider will be nominated to each Final meeting. Any FMN may propose suitable Wild Card riders. These proposals must be made in writing to the FIM not later than 1 month prior to the meeting. The CCP Bureau will make the final approval and nomination.
  14. If the organizers at Uppsala want Posa... The ice racing meeting planned for Oulunkylä, Helsinki on March 17th has been cancelled. The TV company that was supposed to broadcast it pulled out and so did all the major sponsors... SuomiTV, the company in question has been around a few years, never really having broken through to the Finnish TV scene. It has still been a nation wide broadcaster and showed the Supercross meeting from Lahti not so long a go. But after a couple of hard years financially it was bought by Fox international Nordic this week and I guess the first thing they did was to pull out from our precious ice racing meeting. So not only are the people inside the sport more or less arguing against each other, now we have big time international players coming and kicking our sport where it hurts the most!
  15. Those that might not recall, Kai Lehtinen hanged up his leathers after last season. The podium finish at Assen was his last appearance. He's had back problems so I believe this time it's final. Henri Malinen has also called it a day after last season. Shame really, he was quite promising young rider. Good performance's on bikes not quit up to standard on world's level. Dont know about his comeback ideas, most of the ice racing riders usually do one or two...
  16. Yes, Pori announced at the AGM that they are not in the league 2012. It's a shame, big time and mostly to do with money meaning lack of it. I've been doing some stats lately and went through a lot of results since 2004. Pori has had the highest crowds year after year since 2004. Also the stadium is top class in Finland and I rate the track as # 1 in Finland. The 5th rider in the squads announced is just cosmetics basically. The meeting format stays the same 4 teams with 4 riders each. The 5th is basically named so that the others cant take him in their teams. The spring conference will finalize the dates for the two leagues and it will be held in late February. Unless some dramatic change of fortunes, they will be published by the end of February. Haukat from Lahti, yes. The Kaupunki Cup is about to see a return of the tracks at Varkaus and also Karhula. Neither of the two teams has officially listed themselves in to the coming KC, but thats the talk behind the scenes. Hyvinkää's 2nd team in KC last season was in fact three riders from Karhula, because the Karhula track would not pass for a track license (some details with the fence). Varkaus announced they would enter the league this season as well, but that fell through. The situation at Varkaus I'm told is quite promising. The stadium had a facelift last summer and new riders have appeared at the track. Deadline for the participation in the KC is the end of January. It looks like a six team lineup.
  17. The Nordic ice racing final on February 12th has been moved from Forssa to Kauhajoki. Track problems have been named as the cause. It's only been about a week worths of winter and the track at Forssa would have needed loads of snow to start the building of the track and there's been none. Kauhajoki will also host another meeting this season. The individual meeting at Helsinki on March 17th will see riders from 8 different countries with some big names present. It's on artificial ice so it's going to go ahead. It looks very promising.
  18. Speedway SM-liiga teams and lineups for next season. SM-liiga 2012: Sand Blowers: 1) Jari Mäkinen, 2) Niko Siltaniemi, 3) Aarni Heikkilä, 4) Pasi Pulliainen, 5) Andreas Messing. Keittiöpiste:1) Tero Aarnio, 2) Timo Lahti, 3) Teemu Lahti,4) Marko Hyyryläinen, 5) Marko Suojanen. Kotkat: 1) Juha Hautamäki, 2) Mika Loppi, 3) Markku Autio,4) Joni Keskinen. Haukat: 1) Kalle Katajisto, 2) Jiri Nieminen, 3) Vili Mattila, 4) Mika Pellinen, 5) Alexander Edberg.
  19. I've been updating my racing calendar for this season at would now appear that thanks to the FIM's decision to scrap Berlin from the WC calendar we now have a full 5! round Golden Spike series in our hands with meetings in Dresden, Berlin, Norrköping, Weissenbach and Heidenreischtein. I think there are much more meetings in Europe in general scheduled than for the past few years...
  20. It's winter over here with -5 to -10 and this is supposed to continue for a few weeks. There's practise at Alavus this weekend, I think the first time they are riding on a track. Some have had start practise at shoreline on lakes not yet frozen...
  21. Finnish nominations for the wc qualis: 4.1.2012 St Johann, Itävalta: Mats Järf ja Janne Vilponen 28.1.2012 Lukhovitsy, Venäjä: Antti Aakko ja Jussi Hytönen 28.1.2012 Sanok, Puola: Jouni Seppänen The weather in Finland in crap at the moment. The days that the sun is out, it's like the best spring day. When it's clouded, it's raining and dark. Now that the winter will actually come, it means there's six weeks of -25 or below...
  22. First Ekstraliga meeting on April 9th, announced today apparently. The whole list on sportowefakty.pl.
  23. Hey Ian, where's our new Krasnikov, Sergei Lagachov from these? Other than that, your picks were/are pretty much spot on...
