  1. Not that many countries in Scandinavia LOL! Wölbert was one of the riders that had a "groin injury" that prevented him travelling to Russia a couple of years ago, but not bad enough to prevent him from riding for Edinburgh. Kauko was on the same boat, but with a doctors note of a knee injury and actually took a break. I believe it's safe to say that Norway havent had any riders in the past few years, there's been a real lack of them. It now seem's though, that they are coming back and the 80cc scene has been revived, Groin injury a'la Czech was introduced by Jan Caloun, a Czech hockey player when he played in Finland. Very handy injury, it came and went...
  2. Finnish absence from the U21's this year was a one off, dont make it sound like it's been going on for some time. If the idiots at CCP decide to take away our places for next year, then so be it. It's nice that some of them fix places for mates, but when the time come's to actually step up and really do something, it's not in their interest. If you ask the current Finnish team manager about the scandic quali, he would say good riddance, why did it not happen 5 years ago. We had a good set of young lads that of which Timo Lahti is the last one and still eligible next year. The drop before the next is big. And just to prove my point, when Katajisto was allowed to enter the U21 quali's in Poland, he went through. If and possible when our places are taken in the U21, it's a loss. I think we deserve at least one. In the gp qualis I see only negative things coming for us. We had three go through this year, I think we deserve the same but will be surprised if we get two.
  3. Speedway WC qualis from 80 riders to 48! U21's are from 64 to 48... And they still have the Argentinian U21 finals in it before they've even see how it'll work. This is a provisional calendar, I know. I heard about some re-shuffling of the qualifying stages in co-operation between the FIM and the soon to be FIM europe, but naturally I expected the current UEM to get told what to do. It now seems though that the FIM is stepping back...

  5. Thats longtrack, this is speedway, nuff said. I also saw that headline with Finnish hobby riders taking it from German pro's... Whats's the link to the mentioned funny stuff? Siltaniemi is interested in coming to UK later in the year. It's also a financial thing though, but he can be contacted via his website at nikosiltaniemi.fi. He's not loaded with backup, but with a winning attitude and attacks any track.

  10. Have the changed the track in Bydgoszzcxz? The first and second bend look too round and there's much more space on the safety zone than I remember. Thank you Tomasz Gollob for answering my question so quickly.
  11. I asked him about this, he said it was a money thing, he dropped/was left out but I got the impression it was made in mutual understanding. He did OK today, dropped more points than "usual" (if that can be said) but did really well. The track was dry and packed, I counted three passes after 1st bend and each by Niko Siltaniemi. He was on fire today, alltough points dont show that. I'll write results in a few hours, when I get home. Speedwayn SM-liiga at Hyvinkää, July 7th. 12. I had a mistake in the results from Kuusankoski. Heat details were correct, but in the scores Kalle Kivistö was riding instead of Pulliainen. Pulliainen I'm told is suffering from migraine and is on the sidelines. I think it's a funny post on the Finnish forum, someone is wondering if Hyvinkää will ride today since it's been between +20 and +26 all week... If it's too hot?
  13. Big disappointment for Henri Ahlbom and his fans. Hometrack and all... Also Niilo Vuolas is one of our top guns. It's now down to Nike Lunna and Jooa Partanen to rock the world in their last chance in proving themselves in 80cc Worlds.
  14. I noticed that Katajisto has a second meeting for Rospiggarna tomorrow and he's also been listed for Outrup in the Danish league this? week. Also I've spent 5 hours on the phone regarding last nights meeting... Lovely!

  16. Were you thinking out loud, or answering my kinda retorical question?
  17. I was on the phone to the UEM(!) congress on friday and it appears that a sponsor is coming in on their speedway championships. That naturally means money and that means that riders will want to ride in their meetings. Not Finns though, we are kicked out apparently (if so -> deservedly). So it's another step on the toes of the FIM, one wonders what Ziegler is really trying to achieve.
  18. F U! I dont mind your comments, but at the moment I'm kind of tired and again feeling sort of uncertain is there speedway next month/year in Finland or not. So another time and place maybe... 21. We have a set of jackets, and I think they are one of the better ones. ***OR WHAT YOU THINK*** It's just that I was the last one who cared about using them, it seems.
  22. Only had a couple, can still think. I also read the TW interview from last weeks spar yesterday and thought it was pretty good. He had very realistic view of his situation. He's not ready. I was there at the Kumla U21 final wondering why CH spent his "spare" time sitting on a chair rather than on his bike with his mechanics. Learned later via Spar he had no idea how adjust his bike. He was a medalist that year. Seems it dont work in the Gp's the same and plenty of people on here that see him weekly (ride or more) think it has not changed. I was the #1 scott Nicholls fan around 10 years ago, would have gone to a REALLY heavy debate with many forum members to defend him (probably did, in person) but where's he now. Making a decent living racing in the UK, not GP material. Timo Lahti probably even beat him yesterday... = ) Naturally I'm also stirring, but it's not just that.
  23. The same with kylmä, captain nemo and timo lahti. Well... At least they are as good as the top brit.
  24. I bet he did not know what hit him! Timo Lahti on in 20 minutes time. When he puts on his gating gloves, anything can happen in Vojens' slick track... And then it rains.
