My fault probably, I assume things at times and expect things from the people I speak with. But you have Ozzy as your avatar,or whatever it's called! Anyway... Not substandard, but standard as I usually try to point out in this kind of discussions. Not necessarily Jawa Divisov factory standard, but something any rider or me can go out and purchase. Which in this case means engine parts from steel, not triple the price one sixth of a lifespan titanium valves that possibly give you 1,5hp more and are absolutely useless to anyone who cant make an outside pass anyway.
-
And correct me if I'm wrong they still use plastic on WC-level for the middle piece?
-
So basically he thought he'd beat everybody because he has the kit to do it... Thats not what I meant in the original post. Finished reading the silencer story on the latest Spar 5 minutes ago where it says that with the new titanium valves Jan Andersson can produce 1,5 hp more from an engine. If they now take out 75hp easily, what are you gonna do with an extra 1,5 if your clutches are Jawa and your mental toughness can be swiped from the track in pieces every time you were meant to pass someone from the outside...

He won?

Though having never ridden competetive speedway, the two sports are amazingly similar in that sense that if you're head is right, it's yours to take away.

Aakko has crashed last wednesday in the pairs and hurt his shoulder. Will go to a magnetic scan this week to see whats wrong and find out if he can continue his season.
-
I was stirring a bit with that one, but only little. I dont watch motors tv but have a hard time getting excited even by ISGWC meetings. Was told today that Aakko was trailing other europeans by a straight in Togliatti... I wonder how far ahead the Russians were... Bottom line is, that a good heat is a good heat in any form of track racing.

It wasnt the best of meetings, but a few close calls, falls and exciting challenges and passings made it worth spending the whole day away from home. Joensuu next saturday, thats a whole weekend. They possibly want to keep it exciting? Something that a full 59 second heat would not be viewed from tv...
-
Svemo was unwilling to put their feet down and say if they were coming or not, so the test match was abandoned. In the end there's no meeting whatsoever at Kauhajoki on the 23rd. An individual was also in the cards.

All the Finnish finals are open to all nationalities. Budden is a friend of Jouni Seppänen (and other Finnish ice racing people) and was somehow talked in to it last year. Was 17th in last years final after being reserve and failing to score in his only heat (if I remember right).

A quali for the Finnish final (Feb 16th at Joensuu) this sunday at Kuortane. 1. Sami Räsänen P-KMK, 2. Henri Pekkala OMK , 3. Markku Weckman MP-tuki , 4. Mika Kastren P-KMK , 5. Olli-Pekka Mäki PirMM , 6. Teppo Toivola ASMP, 7. Esko Rantanen PirMM, 8. Mats Järf VaMK , 9. Jens Budden, Saksa , 10. Mika Helin FMS , 11. Tommi Suolammi HäMK , 12. Ari Tuomisto FMS, 13. Sami Hassinen P-KMK, 14. Matias Rantala PirMM , 15. Pertti Flink P-KMK 16. Mikko Jetsonen P-KMK. 6+2 through with Weckman, Hassinen and Jetsonen already qualified but riding to get full heats.

That should do it then!

OK. I wonder what is the widht of the track at the bends in Bahia Blanca? Because Finland was forced to give away a quali because we had no airfence. Turns out Argentina has no airfence yet have two finals because of a big enough safety zone. Seinäjoki is only 14 meters in the bends, so there would have not been much room to include a safety zone (4 meters??) and still have a good meeting.

This cannot be true. Any additional info?

The plan was that after 01012013 all silencers will have to have a heat shield. New ones produced will have it bolt on as standard, but last years silencers will have to be fitted with the heat shield held with the mentioned straps. The DEP/KING silencers that were produced last year are the same as they are this year with the heat shield as standard, the same homologation stamp. If they come up with a totally new silencer, an internally modified 2012 DEP/King for example, then the rule's IMO will have to be changed again. That would IMO mean that everyone would scrap the current ones and new ones would again become standard.
-
Think the FIM rule says you need a heat shield from now on, so you need a heat shield. In any silencer.

He doesn't? Ohh... Kone is Finnish. -
Lahti was Rospiggarna's second best rider last season in Allsvenskan. After Andreas Jonsson.

Kauhajoki club announces a test match date between Sweden and Finland on February 23rd at Kauhajoki. Finnish final has received a lot of entries and a qualifier will most likely get arranged. EDIT: had wrong date for the test, sat 23rd is announced.
-
Exactly. I asked for it twice during the week prior and actually three times during the 24h after the meeting had finished. I have not received it today and I consider myself as someone who should receive these without asking. So thats the fault within the system, someone sitting on them. And remember, like I said, I was promised my own (corrected) set. Thats why I waited...
-
Sorry if you thought I meant you. But I really dont think I could ask from you anything (more?) regarding information of Finnish track racing. We do have a system of our own, with all the faults but still. And in that system lies the problem, not in you. Have a safe New Years (all)!

Here are the detailed results from the training camp at Ylitornio. I was promised sort of my own set, there were apparently something iffy about the ones sent worldwide via Pletscacher from the camp, but the person in question has apparently decided to sit on them for good now, so there's no point in holding anyones breath.
