  1. Try and create a calendar for 10 events during 35 saturdays that does not conflict with anything else.
  2. I've asked around and his background/-people is ok if not good. If he wants speedway, it's his to take. I've spoken to him many time's, "mellow" might sound a bit bad even to my ears, but he just does his business and he's frightenetly (that was misspelled) good for his age!
  3. My biggest fear with him is that within a week he's declared missing and the next thing anyone hears of him is that he's scoring double figures for Torun a year from now. You should read your Spar more precisely, I said my piece in the preview issue. LOL EDIT: I've said this to a UK promoter once and saying it again now. If you want a 16 year old kid to come over, YOU BETTER SORT EVERYTHING OUT. Just getting him over, paying flights and getting a mechanic for meetings does not mean a kid will enjoy his stay and improve as a rider.
  4. Both reserve riders have the right to refuse to take a ride during the first set of heats - > to replace a rider. After that they take turns for the heats. Basically it's possible for a reserve rider to ride 15 points before 10 heats are done. The rule was changed sometime ago, the first time I heard of this was 2009 U19 EC quali in Hallstavik, or whatever year. The word from trackside is that the track was so bad it should never have started. Once it did, they could have finished it as well. After 16 heats five Poles on top with Pawlicki on 9 points and injured... I'm a bit bummed that this did not happen for Timo Lahti and especially that it did not happen for Finnish speedway. We would have needed it...
  5. Hear that it's been raining in Rawicz and they might cancel practise. Would help Timo Lahti since he was told to ride for Eastie yesterday and would have missed practise anyway. Had an SMS last night from a friend around 10 PM and almost crapped myself thinking no one would text me at this time unless something bad has happened to Timo. Well, he rode his best score this season and that has to be a good omen!! Cant remember the guy I had a conversation about the Finnish riders last year, but would now like to quote the speedway updates page: Comments: YEP thats correct, Lahti beats Nicholls without any real pressure from Nicholls.
  6. Yyterispeedway << today >>>, NIke Lunna beat Teemu Lahti and Marko Suojanen for the win. Unfortunately Henri Ahlbom had a tumble on his own, hit the fence and hurt his back. Nothing serious, just shaken... EDIT: I also spoke with Aki-Pekka Mustonen. He had a visit to the doctors this week in Finland and goes again on May 23rd. After xrays then decisions are made how long his layoff will continue. I know that he's given away his quali slot in the WC qualis, cant remember where though. Two minor fractures in vertabraes, one in the neck and one in the back. Didn't blame anyone, it was just a bad day for grasstrack with all the incidents that occurred. WHY CANT I CHANGE LINE WITH THE RETURN KEY ANYMORE!! 7. Niklas Säyriö rides for Skaerbak. So now you know which teams to follow and report to me.
  8. A bit busy at the moment, had a couple of phone calls today that made me very happy and very busy for a few days. They have 10-15 riders, at least one 80cc kid. Ranna also has a decent 80cc track, the big one was of interesting shape with long narrow straights (Gislaved was mentioned, the longest in Sweden) and tight bends (kuusankoski mentioned, tightest in Finland). Soolep said earlier that within a couple of years there might be a new track opening in the south of Estonia. The stadium itself was pretty good, I have to admit. Finnish coach Palomäki was there for the camp giving feedback for all the riders (around 15 Finns and ten or so Estonians) and progress was made...
  9. Thanks for posting these... I was there on saturday and first third of the meeting. I was quite impressed by Nike Lunna. He looks a good prospect, there's is a lot similar to Kalle Katajisto in his style and hopefully I will see him this thursday on an "easier" track to ride in Pori. Yyterispeedway is on thursday and I'm looking forward to see Ahlbom, Lunna and Partanen in the same heat. For other riders there was not much to comment, I've seen them (the Finnish guys) before so knew what to expect. Also I spoke quite a lot with Jaak Soolep, he has done a lot of work at the track and was very positive and happy about how the whole weekend turned out in the end. 10. There usually IS a runoff if riders are tied on qualifying or podium places.
  11. Yeah, I know this. We'll be moving out for that weekend, thats quaranteed. = )
  12. Book from early May until the end of October. You can always cancel!
  13. BSI has left the country, I'm told. I met Jarno Kosonen, one of the two promoters behind the project last weekend. From all the info I've gathered and processed in my head, there will be a Finnish GP in 2014. I mean why not? Kaj Laukkanen is the other one behind it, and all Spar readers know he has the money to do it. BSI/IMG do it for money and the intended stadium would be one of the best in the series when you look at the whole picture: It can be sold out for 15k people, it's as central as Cardiff in the city it's at and they (bsi) will come and do the track to suit their needs. If I was travelling for this one, I'd book my hotel now.
  14. That is a crap deal, cant argue with that. But if you get in to the series, youre on tv and have a good opportunity to earn some money.
  15. Newport - closed, Reading - closed, Oxford - closed, Armadale and Ashfield in trouble year after year, they always close Cardiff after my visit and now KL is closing. Those are the UK tracks I've been to. I'm opening a gofundme-site soon. Taking donations for not entering UK ever again...
  16. Gniezno vs Wroclaw on the thursday prior to the GP. 1830 start time.
  17. Someone has counted the points from past few seasons to prove a point when he/she asked for this change. Would the top3 plces had changed?
  18. Why not? I always thought that it was a great rule?
