  1. Actually it's probably even harder competition than the gp quali and had 4 (85% sure) qualis, two semis and a final...
  2. For shopping go to the Jakobsberg outlet centre. Thats the place to spend your money on clothes and some of them are even really cheap. http://qualityoutlet.com/
  3. To the best of my knowledge, iPhones are not fixed but replaced. This is what happened with my first 4 during the first 14 months of my contract... And I still think it's an awesome phone/gadget! EDIT: proved wrong then as I typed.
  4. Dont know when that exactly was, but a Spar report back in 1994 says that the then top league had 85 English riders and 61 foreigners. Thats roughly 60-40 split, maybe something should had been done earlier? This is hindsight, I DONT know the answer, just that I been trying to get this snippet online since I read it this January.
  5. I think your missing something from Bydgoszcz, the most expensive ticket most certainly was over 38 pounds, since mine was over 100 euros.
  6. I paid 340 dollars for two seats at the Madison Square Garden to see Rangers vs Red Wings 1,5 years ago. We sat in the corner on row 14 or something like that. So thats cheap US sport for you!
  7. Any results from Sundays meeting at Kumla. I know Nike Lunna won, but thats not good enough...
  8. I was a "guest" in a GP earlier this year. Spoke many times with our host from IMG. He was younger than me probably, but damn he was good at what he did. Not gonna say anything about what he/IMG does to you after you are "part of the package" and done your first deal with them (thats for The Know to comment)... But now looking from the side at the HUGE task that the Finnish promoters have in their hands to get through and recognised in the traditional media over here, I can only see benefits that there's such a player as IMG involved. And just as a curiousity, handball and (EDIT) league speedway have about the same average crowd of around 220+ in Finland (but like said in another thread, dont mean hsit when it comes to the GP at Ratina). Rallycross in Finland always get 3000-5000 people. Cant understand why though...
  9. We took our kid to a photographer a month ago, she lives in Stockholm but has her studio just south of Tampere. I answered a speedway related phone call during that time, she had to ask what I was talking about. Immediately after hearing the explanation she said there's huge adverts all over Stockholm... They can cross one dot, something has been done right!
  10. Indeed, I thought the first round was a bit cautious from the riders. Togliatti was good IMO. But having reserved the 3 hours to watch it and have "my time", no way I'd turn it off!
  11. It's screwed in my brothers garage wall, for good. We almost had a fight over it last year, dont think I told that. The Jäger supplied by a certain friend was luckily close and the mob trying to destroy the thing was cunningly lead to better/different past time activities... Flights were 300+ return from TMP to PRG friday-monday... Not happening.
  12. This is a good question, the original I mean. I would like to see the research that shows that the new (introduced for Cardiff 2013 I think) "Monster" airfences dont produce any extra strain on a riders neck when hit from the side/slided on to. This naturally compared to the old style elements that had no extractions...
  13. Good advice ! Look's like PUK's to give away... Gonna check for flights now...
  14. Thats why I came back and edited... I mean probably outscoring Torun or Gorzow (which ever) by 500 is really not even worth starting such a rumour...
  15. Would be a surprise IMO, though welcomed one. EDIT: If second highest means something like 25-35k...
  16. If it were a five rider runoff (literally, five at the tapes) for second with the same outcome (batchelor last if i remember right) would Batchelor still be 4th instead of 6th in the final standings because his heat wins? And its a runoff for SECOND... Not to determine the substitute list for BSI.
  17. A set of runoffs for 2nd. It's in the same rules. See first quote of the post.
  18. If you are in the runoff, then your final position will be according to the results of the runoff, and in this case the three heats for the five riders. Countback is not an option anymore.
  19. OK, you believe/think/feel there should be no runoffs, I quote the rules. Thats the difference. One should always remember that for each rule there is a reason and it has been created to correct a mistake or non-existance of a rule or a process in such case as the 5 riders tied for 2nd. I would not have been wanted to be the ref in the meeting when for the first time there was 5 riders tied for a podium finish! What a mess that must have been...
  20. I guess this is as good of a thread as any... It says in Spar (dated August 31st page 17) that Debbie Hancock has laid it on the line for Somerset fans... buy an air-fence... this issue will not go away... no u-turn from BSPA/ACU as it is an FIM requirement. (Sorry, my keyboard is acting up again) But it's not an FIM requirement is it, there was a report earlier and it stated that BSPA/ACU sort made their own conclusions on the new FIM requirement for FIM events that an airfence or similar would become mandatory. Because if such a requirement is actually also to national level meetings for next year, track racing will die in Finland on January 1st before the last fireworks are even lit. So what am I missing, what story in between has escaped me...
  21. If you are talking about the Gorican meeting, you are wrong. There's always a runoff for TOP3 places and last quali places for the next round. With 5 riders tied on 2nd place, you need to sort it out. I read the Spar report from the Challenge and was surprised how big of a deal this Smoli/Harris runoff apparently was after the meeting. Just shows IMO how far you can go with just going with the flow... And in this case I mean fellows Middleditch and Rossiter who both been involded in the sport probably the 36 years each that I've lived...
  22. EMIL SAYFUTDINOV WITHDRAWS FROM THIS WEEKEND'S DOODSON SLOVENIAN FIM SPEEDWAY GRAND PRIX Speedway governing body, the FIM, has confirmed that Russian rider Emil Sayfutdinov has officially withdrawn from the Doodson Slovenian FIM Speedway Grand Prix in Krsko on Saturday. The 23-year-old, who is currently sitting second in the World Championship standings, just three points off Great Britain's Tai Woffinden in first, has failed to recover from injuries sustained last Saturday while riding for his Polish club Czestochowa against Torun in the Polish Ekstraliga play-off semi-finals. Sayfutdinov's place in Saturday's line-up will be taken by Denmark's SGP second reserve Leon Madsen - who dons the No.20 race jacket
