i'll do my best that every Finnish rider will make the grade to get a snitt for 2015. = ) From memory I'd say that Aarni Heikkilä, Jiri Nieminen, Jooa Partanen, Teemu Lahti, Niko Siltaniemi and Henri Ahlbom(?) are the names I've heard. The rest of the ten mentioned are probably news to me as well. I did not say Nike Lunna, becos the grapevine says he has his own plans, but I hope he's in this as well or whereever, as long as he gets an average.

By not giving a starting permit. Since the meetings are not under ACU/BSPA the riders need a permit from BSPA/ACU (or whatever the fed they race under) to be eligible to start in a meeting held under any other federation. They cant switch licenses midway through either and can only hold one license per year for one federation/nation. EDIT: They cant do anything to stop Ward riding, if he wants to. THIS ASSUMING his club lets him ride and not look to ban him for withholding his services.

A promoter that signs a deal with a rider that allows the rider to miss matches for better paying individuals or pairs meetings is one crap promoter.

Would've been a good joke, but you are talking of "us". It's not like were (those2) are really THAT bad, I mean the Swedes were forced out of the SWC as well after last year... Yes, I know they ride in it 2014. Thats because they are a host nation.

Having spent a couple of pretty tiring days my head started to spin and all of a sudden it struck me, Finland must be the second or third biggest ice racing nation! We had almost 30 entries to last years final! Russia is Russia, but are we really next?
-
I see a door opening for a Finnish pair of Timo Lahti / Kauko Nieminen!

The FIM were the ones behind it the first time as well. Even though the CCP has had a drastic makeover, rest of the speedway world really hasnt and thereby the same problems excists and this will be a no go.

Not my biggest, not even close. I'll survive...

A starting permit is needed naturally. But since they gave one for Woffy for the SEC last year, why not for Wuffy and say Barker this year for this and for SEC?
-
Out curiosity... How many tracks in OZ and how many of them are equipped with an APD aka air fence? Was it compulsory for all the title round tracks to have a APD? EDIT: Trying to spell curioustiinty...

Thats how it's been "indicated" in the past couple of years in the FIM calendars/drafts. Has not happened though...
-
What has Katajisto to do with all this?? EDIT: And why should they get anything else than a NL rider as a replacement?? This world speedway best pairs is NOT a championship of ANY federation. It's a One Sport promoted series of pairs speedway to make money for One Sport. EDIT: typo edited

Dont think this series has anything to do with FIM Europe/former UEM. Only thing common is the promoter. FIM Europe still has it's own best pairs champs with a semi in Debrecen and a final in Divisov. Thats the comp that BSPA/ACU has issues with...

So Aakko is in and Tani out. Bauer is in, Zorn is in... Who says ice racing isnt predictable!

On my way up north for work and stopped for a coffee at Kuortane. They hosted the champs qualifier las winter. No snow in sight, the lake was not even frozen and people were playing golf at the course next to the lake...

I read an article somewhere where it said the weekend costs around 70000 euros to organize. That includes the extra ice...

Dont you have a childhood dream you want see happen? ...And when the time comes, when you would basically be making more money while having a dump then 90 % of the forum members combined in a year... Would you honestly NOT make it happen?

2014 Gp Calendar
f-s-p replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
They tried drinking Vodka and bathing in a sauna in Germany a few weeks back and made headlines in Finland as well. No happy thoughts involved, I'm sticking to my original no-go attitude... -
going on past info, one would think that would add up to about 50-100 customer contacts weekly, finding their contact info, getting in contact, possibly talk 1-25 mins each... Just the thought of it all makes you soon realise that it would be too expensive compared to whats on offer. Better to stick with doing the mag so good, that it remains wanted and waited. Just my thoughts...

2014 European Speedway Championships
f-s-p replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in International World of Speedway
because british leagues are a priority and EC is not considered important in any way? -
i know many young improvers on a high level, none of them ready for gp though. But what ever, you thought then that he was a good pick, thats whats important.

tai wasnt "the sort of rider" 12 months ago though...

So why didn't Gollob take a few tats and pierce his ears? Where's his dedication??? I also heard a lot of good stuff during the year. The scale of TG's Monster deal was along the line's of a full GP season and still getting paid... So no wonder he felt a little out of pocket.

A training camp was held last weekend at Ylitornio. It ended with an individual meeting that Aakko won with max poinst before Järf on 14 and Tani on 13. Aakko was already going to St Johan, Järf looks set for the 2nd Finnish slot. If he wants it. Tani most probably next in line. Pretty confident that this trio will also ride for Finland in the team WC later on this season. All depends though if they themselves want to do it.
