  1. Got my tickets this morning, distressed to read on them "Air Horn Free Zone". As we are in block M1, over the pits area, this can't be so. I have e-mailed BSI but don't expect too much joy and the ticket agents are all but useless. Anyone got similar problems?
  2. 10zloty and much better than the crap you get at Cardiff for £7, only snag is you need to be able to read Polish.
  3. Tomaz. Change of plan for me, I'm now staying in Maribor, so can't make Bar Macek on friday night but a track meet up sound O.K.
  4. It could well be Martin Fry. Remember him from ABC ? I was talking to John Poss about it last year at Bydgoszcz and he said that it would possibly be Fry + maybe Tony Hadley. Tried to persuade him to book The Specials who are now gigging again but don't think that he is in to them.
  5. What a great country to visit on your first trip abroad, Poland and what a great city, Wroclaw. You'll love it. Hope to meet you there.
  6. Probably depends on sponsership deals. It was rumoured that before Trick was reeled in, he was thinking about buying a house at Sandbanks, Poole. A house the size of a phone box there costs about £1 million. How big is his toolbox?
  7. Translates as "Please, < ask > four beer and two on stockpile else". Have I had too many already? He thinks. Then again using my Teach Yourself Polish book, suspect it means something like 4 beers and 2 more to follow. God I feel wrecked already, who's paying for these beers anyway? Keep Splatty and f-s-p out of this bar or we'll never stand up. Proszę, cztery piwa i cztery Jagermeister. Szalenstwo.
  8. " The practice is scheduled on Friday, the 29th April. " A good place to start "practising" is in that little bar behind the "reserved tickets" office. "Prosze, dwa Zywiec."
  9. Thanks Sharon, count us in. Same G.P's as us, but we're also doing Krsko again. Methanol and Pivo cocktails? I'll try anything once. F-S-P / Spatty probably already done it.
  10. Ok Pugwash, I'll come to Macek on Friday night. Not sure about the time though, as we'll be in Krsko in the afternoon to see the GP practice and I don't know when will we be coming back to Ljubljana. But I'll definitely come to the bar to have a couple of beers with you. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Tomaz. Slight change of plan. I'm now staying in Slovenia for a few extra days but up at Mirabor (Hotel Orel), never been to Mirabor before, it seems pretty scenic. Will catch up with you at practice on friday though.
  11. Haven't you already asked John Posslewhaite for that job or was it his job that you wanted?
  12. Put the brewery on standby for extra production.
  13. It appears that the schedule times for that flight have been moved forward by 20 minutes, no big deal unless you're on a tight connection. We've got a 2 hour gap between flights, O.K unless we get fog. Booked my tickets on the back straight, a table at the Sphinx and two large Zywiec, Na Zdrowie.
  14. Stayed there last year. This year we're staying at the HP Park Plaza, next to the river, very nice indeed but a bit further to walk to the square. 405 zloty / night, less 20% discount, for a "superior double room" inc breakfast. You can't beat Poland for value for money.
  15. What odd rules! Why if you run heats 17, 18, 19 and 20 do heat 1-16 suddenly become relevant but not before?! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> After 16 heats, all riders have had 4 rides.
  16. That's the way I read it. Most interesting, but apparentely track reserves can't ride in semi-finals or final. Track reserves also pick up $2100 even if they don't get a ride. I've noticed also that there's a lot better pay out for riders finishing outside of the top 8, (obviously due to the reduced number of riders).
  17. Also you can save on the taxes, if you're prepared to parachute out over Warsaw. This could be a good option if you're staying at a skyscraper hotel such as the Marriot. With a bit of nifty parachute handling you can land directly on the hotel roof and save more money on the "gangster" taxi fare from the airport.
  18. Forget it. That road is definately "off piste". Journey time approx 6 to 8 hours of pot holes and road works. Take Rico's advice, or fly to Katowice, hire a car and drive up to Wroclaw. Traffic around Katowice is pretty heavy but once you clear Katowice it's a 90 mph brand new motorway all the way to Wroclaw. Total journey time from Katowice airport to Wroclaw about 2.5 hours. Alternatively, fly to Berlin Schoenfeld and drive down to Wroclaw, another easy and very enlightening journey, 3 hours max. (To see prostitutes touting their wares in the middle of pine forest, 30 miles from any form of civilisation, takes some believing). See you there. (Wroclaw that is , not the pine forest)
  19. Mmmm Zywiec . Had one on Wednesday night, lovely stuff. Rico <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Na Zdrowie.
  20. Tomaz. Bar "Macek" by the river. Will be there again friday night before the G.P, drinking Union beer. Hope to see you there. Cheers, Pugwash.
  21. Great cafe bars down by the river in Llubjiana. Large beer and a small beer for less than £2. Good stuff too, similar to Polish beer. As for the speedway, the Krsko track is probably the best track on the G.P circuit. Hyde road re-planted in Slovenia.
  22. I suspect that it will be, as always, down to consistency : 1. Rickardsson. 2. Crump. 3. Adams.
  23. Unless you're in the main stand, there are no reserved seats and it can get a little bit heated, finding a seat. Buying an advanced ticket for a particular area, just gets you into that area. After that you're on your own, great fun really. Last year we sat in sector A next to the main stand, it's O.K but you need to get a seat early doors as it's quite popular with the more sedate Polish fans. This year we're down the back straight with the more "bouyant" Polish fans.
