Corals. The E.L title goes to who wins the playoffs.
-
The smart money was on the Pirates at 6/1 for the E.L title.
-
Grand Final winner 25 pts, 2nd 20pts, 3rd 18 pts, 4th 16pts. 3rd place in the semi to receive 12 points or his points total from the 5 qualifier rides, whichever is the greatest. (He obviously couldn't score more than 15 points in the qualifiers). 4th place 10 points or his qualifier score.

Are We Good Enough
pugwash replied to StevePass's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Scotty and Lee don't seem to be aggressive enough for the G.P's "dog eat dog" lifestyle. Would like to see Mark Loram back in the series next year. He's still the top Brit and the new G.P format would suit him fine but realistically don't think that it will happen as BSI seem to be looking at the new stars to take the series forward. Expect KK, and Bjerre to definately replace Chrzanowski and Richardson and maybe PUK to take Ryans place if Ryan fails to make a podium place. Zager will have to wait untill he produces some decent form in the E.L before he gets a chance, being top dog in the P.L is going to get nobody in the G.P. -

Thought that the wild card was being dumped next year. -

Zager would do O.K as a second stringer, 6 point average at best. The "proper" Matej would wipe the floor with him in the E.L (Arena and B.V excluded) p.s Arlington excluded also as we will run R/R. -

Only the top 8 stay in next year, the other 8 are nominated. BTW no way will BSI drop Gollob with 2 G.Ps in Poland. -

pugwash replied to batesie's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Nice to meet new people but nicer still to meet old friends that you don't see very often, Splatty and James from Rye House & f-s-p from Finland. BTW thanks for the Finnbag. -
Will The Gp Move To Wembley?
pugwash replied to Blazeaway's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
BSI have signed a contract for The Millenium Stadium until 2010 so it ain't going anywhere for a least another 5 years. -

Is this the song that's something about a saucepan? -
Just got back from the G.P last night. This was my 3rd time at Krsko and could probably be the last. 20 heats of absolute boredom only broken by new track record by first Crump then Adams. Can't believe that this was missed by Sky. The semis and final were pretty exciting topped off by a brilliant win by Trick but overall wished that I had stayed at home. Still can't believe that track. It's the best speedway track that I've ever seen apart from Hyde Road but produced poor racing. Was it "Olsenism" or a cock-up by the Krsko track staff? A few really fast heats then total boredom. Another strange feature, the meeeting was completely lacking in atmosphere, maybe due to the low Polish turnout. Back straight Krsko not exactly back straight Bydgoszcz!

British Gp Tickets
pugwash replied to witchnut's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Suggest National Express coaches would be the cheapest, about 40 euros, return. Journey time about 3.5 hours. -
British Gp Tickets
pugwash replied to witchnut's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
The problem that I had with my tickets has now been sorted. (Misprint apparently). I sent an e-mail to BSI who in turn have obviously kicked the ticket agents up the behind and I got a reply P.D.Q from them. Contact BSI at speedway@benfieldsports.com if your'e having problems with the agents. -
Thanks for the spelling lesson Tomaz, I owe you a "Union".
-
Send me copy in English, if you can, when it's finished, I'll be interested to read it.

Spot on Mr B.H Ferjan is the "proper" Matej, Zager is the young pretender.

A Two Horse Race Already?
pugwash replied to Subedei's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
If Rickardsson continues with his present form it will soon be a one horse race, he is miles quicker than anyone else by far and Crumpy is very forunate not to be 12 points behind already expect this series to be over by Bydgoszcz. -
Think that Matej Zagar could well make the semi-finals at least. Pity that it's not the proper Matej though.

Ridiculous Gp Gate Positions Balloting!
pugwash replied to 25yearfan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Total farce. The riders who win thier respective semi-finals should get 1st and 2nd pick of gates for the final. (1st pick allocated to the rider who scores more points in his 5 qualifer rides). Ditto for 3rd and 4th picks. If not then the rider winning the semi does not get any advantage over the 2nd place rider for winning. You MUST gain advantage for beating someone otherwise it's a farce. Outcome of this last night would have been Nicki 1st pick, Trick 2nd, Bjerne 3rd, Jason 4th. Also the re-run situation wants addressing. Either race awarded or handicap start (say 3 metre stagger). The outcome of this total farce was that Trick was robbed of finishing on 50 pts with Crumpy on 38 pts as opposed to 45pts-43pts. Big difference, no wonder Tony was well sick. -
British Gp Tickets
pugwash replied to witchnut's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Think that you have missed the jist of it. I've bought tickets in block M1, which according to the plan is NOT air horn free, but on the tickets it clearly states : "block M1, air horn free zone". Confused Has anyone else got block M1 seats? -

David Norris Cardiff Wild Card
pugwash replied to Splatty's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Don't agree with nominating a wildcard from the home country, think that it's better to nominate a rider IN FORM such as Kasper or Ales Dryml. Last year although Floppy was a Brit he was actually the form rider in the E.L and of course did perform as such.
