Good point. I've noticed the same. The Polish, Aussies, Danes, Swedes all sing along to their national anthems with pride.
At Cardiff - All the Brits just stand there like dummies when our anthem is played. ("God Save The Queen" that is, not that Welsh thing).
It's the same in most sports, as though the Brits are embarrased to be British.
IMO a decent meeting.
The top two teams battling it out till the end, a run off and some entertaining riding by the Russians + good to see Matej in the points (pity that he was a one man team).
What a load of tosh. It's just a scam to rip off the punter.
In Poland there's guys setting off full blown incendiary devices in the stadiums. Great fun, bit smokey though.
To be fair to Matej, I think that he lost a lot of confidence the night that nasty nicki stuck him in the fence on turn 4. Before that he was scoring pretty well, averaging something like 7.5, if I remember right. It was also Sullivan as skipper who had to be dragged off Pedersen before he ripped his head off.
Ryan was a good team player as all Aussies are and was a good skipper but had his own problems which was eventually very sad.
Well done Matej.
Back in the GP and back in the Pirates lineup will do me fine.
What's his average these days? He's certainly better round Winborne Rd than Watto, Freddie, Skornicki, Zorro and DD.
Good GP for Millardisms - (Man from Mildura etc) but tonight we had a new one :-
"Rune Holta, the FINN riding on a Polish Licence".
Don't know what my pal f-s-p will make of that?
fsp is the expert on Polish taxi fares, he caught a taxi from Warsaw to Bydgoszcz.
He needed to get there quickly as the bar was open.
Cost him about 150 euros if I remember.
What get pissed, not you?
BTW. That thing that you were keeping under your hat, the one that you told me keep my mouth shut on, is that a none starter now?
Wroclaw to Bydgoszcz is a bitch of a drive. Really slow going for 3/4 hours.
Wroclaw to Rybnik is a piece of cake. Rico's route is spot on. Straight down the new motorway to Gliwice and turn right for Rybnik, 2 hours easy drive. Scenery on route is pretty reasonable but Gliwice is Polands equivalent of Bolton so don't hang around there, Rybnik is only 40 minutes down the road.
