  1. Some years ago the Great Britain Rugby League title was dumped and the England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales teams emerged in the wake. The qualification to play for those countries is somewhat transparent, apparentely Aussies that admit to having drunk a pint of Guinness qualify for the irish team, and Kiwis that once ate a deep fried Mars bar can qualify for scotland etc.[ Qualification for Wales concerns sheep and is best only discussed in the presence of a solicitor]. Anyway, with the resignation of Middlo and a new broom coming out the cupboard could we not run a simialr setup? Home countries internationals maybe with the winner qualifying for a world cup place. Who would we have as naturalised squad members before we would need to instigate the Guinness and Mars Bar rule?
  2. Come on that's Bordeauxing on the ridiculous.
  3. He has a holiday home nearby and we occasionaly see him knocking about.. Looks differant in real life.
  4. Just been announced on SpeedwayGB site:- To give the sports more media coverage, the NL rider alocation for the coming week will be drawn out by Ronne Russell on the BBCs The National Lottery Live show.
  5. The BSPA should be allowed to get together without the accompanyment of a responsable adults.
  6. They're not going to make any improvement if they are only racing against other NL riders. They have to race against the big boys. If they're given access to some of their team mates equipment you would expect an improvement.
  7. Terry Russell says if the kerb isn't painted ORANGE he's taking his bat home.
  8. Is it not going to be a full time job, all this bring thro' young brits etc? You surely can't do it in a week!!! No it's just a meaningless, thankless job with an expenses paid jolly for a week in August. Just let it be anyone except Rosco, even Havvy.
  9. So with Phil Morris resigning at B'ham is he now clearing his way for the GB job?
  10. Yes... Unbelievable.....no mention of Poole, Matt Ford, Middlo, heat 10 call offs, moisture in the track, Gordon The tramp or Tatnum Chippy!!! Gavan's blown it.
  11. Here's how it works:- A rider decides what points average he wants to be on and then manipulates several 'engine failures' until he attains that average. Hence RIDER CONTROL. Simple!
  12. 10 likes for Mr Rising's opinion. 1 like for Mr BWitcher's opion. Shows a small snapshot of the general opion, in my opion. (Sorry if too many opions)
  13. Are there more crashes on Sky or Eurosport?
  14. I remember it. The Walford Lions in the 'Imperial Leather' sponsored KO Cup final versus the famous Weatherfield Wickdippers at the old Rosamond Street stadium. Heat 1 Kevin Webster got excluded for touching the start line.................girls. Team manager Ken Barlow said "It's what most young people do these days, isn't it?" Meeting was declared a result after 10 heats when match official Leonard Rossiter found Rising Damp on turn one.
  15. Will Sky mention Coronation Street tonight? Eurosport would.
  16. You can bet they'll all be watching it on big screen in The Rovers on Corrie.
  17. Not to be outdone by Corrie, other TV shows are now getting in on the Speedway act. Tony Steele is to play to a Council Damp Inspector in 'This Old House'.
  18. Especially now with Kevin Webster back at No1 and R/R for Ken Barlow still in operation.
  19. Remember him well at Hyde rd from my early teens. Made quite an impression. Bought an old bantam with my paper round money for 10 bob and rode it round a site of demolished prefabs thinking I was PC.
  20. It hasn't been a full strength field in every round, though. Holder, Ward, Emil and a fully fit Nicki would have had a lot of the points that have been distributed elsewhere.
  21. Really? I wouldn't have thought that he would have got a podium finish.
