  1. Of course not forgetting the first action at Wimborne Rd will be the Gary Havelock Farewell meeting on Friday, 21st March. We will have to ensure the car park is capable of accommodating the fleet of coach's coming down from Coventry
  2. 2014 FIXTURE NEWS FRIDAY 17 JANUARY, 2014 POOLE will begin their league title with a home tie against Eastbourne on Wednesday 9th April before embarking on a two-in-a-day contest against Wiltshire rivals Swindon on Good Friday, but prior to the league campaign the Pirates will be involved in an early season challenge against Lakeside Hammers in the Southern Mafia Trophy with the first leg at Poole on Wednesday March 26th and the concluding leg at Lakeside 48 hours later. 3. I knew when I posted my Darcy message that the usual anti Poole suspects would be all over it like a rash and not just because it was Darcy, but Poole speedway in general and as usual, they replied! It's always nice as well to show and remind them just who are the current Elite League Champions..... It always seems to go down so well! For the record and taking into account his form throughout the season, I would have liked to see Niels K Iversen be declared the EL top rider 2013. I also found some of the other riders mentioned interesting choices. Up the Pirates
  4. Should have been Darcy Ward who captained the Poole Pirates to another league title in England and shown on Sky Sports Elite League Speedway And just for all you Darcy and Poole fans (NOT!) here is the man himself..Enjoy I'm sure
  5. In no particular order my top four to-date but could change once we find out the last places for a couple of teams? Kings Lynn. Coventry. Poole and finally, Swindon. At the moment, Swindon are a bit of a doubt - however, I can't see Rosco accepting mediocrity and that's why I have included them. I seem to recall Matt Ford saying at the start of last season, that he wasn't necessarily aiming to win the league but win the play-off's and that seemed to be the plan. The good thing is that it appears to be more open this season and I hope that means good speedway throughout the season for us to watch? It's the team who have built up a head of steam and momentum towards the end of the season that often goes on to take the title and that will be in the mind of each clubs managers and promoters. Therefore, I fully expect changes in riders throughout the season and not just at Poole!? So now we are in to 2014, I personally, am looking forward to the start and hopefully for the club and supporters, another good season for the Poole boys. Good luck to ALL the teams and as always, may the best team win.
  6. No wonder the guy appears to be permanently confused and falsely believes he remains untouchable. He supports a yo yo football club that can't stay in the Premiership and then living in West Bromwich? he supports a team from Wolverhampton who the locals from West Brom call "the Dingles"......Still when it comes to WBA - you can always rely on them to show form is temporary and class is permanent as they have continually proved over the many years. I recall him mentioning he supports WBA on here so that's why I made the reference to the Dingles...However, I wouldn't apply that term to the other Wolverhampton speedway fans on here because it isn't applicable so it's steve dingle from now on Up the Pooleites!
  7. You are a tease Skidder!......What sort of " rethink" are you alluding too?
  8. Some of my fellow Poole supporters are not doing themselves, or Poole speedway any favours here and this sort of continuous wind-up only leads to resentment from other clubs supporters and to be fair, I don't blame them and if agrotron actually believes some of this stuff, then he should seek out some form of help!
  9. He will never change the name calling FB so Instead of calling them Wolverhampton - try calling them the Dingles and see how well that goes down!? He will know exactly what you mean but after all, "It's just a bit of light banter" isn't it steve!
  10. Still no news on our last rider? Personally,I would have thought today would be an ideal time to release the news.
  11. Well we all start equal so good luck!? I hope Leicester have a good first season and the club and supporters move on having enjoyed the experience. We really need to look after the teams in the top flight to protect British speedway for the future.
  12. Hehe!....Oh Steve...You do make me laugh sometimes!
  13. Totally agree. Personally I can't stand the club or the majority of it's glory hunting supporters who have never been to Old Trafford. A bit like some on here who dislike Poole with a passion and to be truthful - I can understand what they are feeling because we have been successful and also taking into account the Matt Ford factor... who we Poole fans have to thank for the success but who through his determination to ensure our winning ways, has upset lots of people on the way. I suppose a bit like Sir Alex of The Gorbals did in his time at MU but in different circumstances of course! However, as much as I disliked Ferguson and his ways, I had tremendous respect for the man's achievements which I very much doubt, will ever again be repeated. It just so happens that I was lucky enough to move to a town and support a team that has been rather successful for the last ten years or so but I also remember sticking with them from when I first went to Poole Speedway in the middle 70's onwards, when we endured a long period of time when we never won anything for years.
  14. This ignore facility is wonderful!.....I can see the forum busybody has just posted - however, I am spared having to read the usual drivel which no doubt has yet again insulted me because my post was made viewable due to being quoted? Many thanks again, to the posters who kindly advised and recommended me by PM to block him off
  15. What I find a shame Gavan is how you want to be taken seriously whilst you continue to make derogatory references about Poole supporters with examples like these.... "People in Dorset are Paranoid" " Poole blue tints" "My issues with Poole are Matt Ford and one or 2 blue tints on here" " and then you get the clowns" "Fickle Poole fans" "are you that much of a moron shovlar" " yes I do slag poole off " " pigs will fly when Poole speedway actually care about British speedway or British riders, Matt ford only out for himself and couldn't give 2 hoots about our sport" and finally " See blue tints the world doesn't revolve around Dorset" It's clear that the majority of posts you make on this forum are about Poole and yet you are an Ipswich fan! We are not an overly sensitive bunch on here but you have a habit of getting up peoples noses with silly remarks like the above and we defend our corner accordingly. Yes, I know the "world doesn't revolve around Dorset" but it would appear to be the centre of your world when you visit the BSF! To use a line from foreverblue, I also don't " tow the party line"...... and Poole at times, have left themselves open to criticism. However, I could take more notice of your posts and to be fair, a few others. if you cut out the silly remarks. I have taken on board some good advice given to me by 3 other members sent via a PM resulting in finally put stevebrum on ignore simply because the forum busybody is a world to himself and he annoys me immensely with his patronising attitude plus trolling on any Poole thread. Anyway, if I didn't, I have no doubt I would receive another ban replying to him! ....Therefore, I hope you take this reply in a constructive manner because at the moment, I have no desire to place a second poster on ignore?
  16. Great to see Chris back on a speedway bike again and a return to winning ways...Article continues.... http://www.worldspeedway.com/artman/publish/article_26206.shtml AUSTRALIAN SPEEDWAY Last Updated: Dec 28th, 2013 - 11:09:18 Australian Speedway: Chris Holder Back With A Bang. By Admin Dec 28, 2013, 11:04 Email this article Printer friendly page The comeback of former world speedway champion Chris Holder is well and truly on track after he won the inaugural Central Coast Harley Davidson Gold Bar Classic at the Gosford Showground last night. The return of speedway to the Gosford Showground attracted a large and appreciative crowd who were entertained by a big program of exciting solo and sidecar action. After winning the Jason Crump Invitational Cup at Kurri Kurri on Boxing Night, Holder made it back-to-back victories at Gosford despite being put under pressure by some of Australia’s best young talent. Holder has only been able to get back on the bike earlier this month after having suffered severe injuries in a crash in England early in July. Despite admitting he was underdone and far from race hardened Holder was well pleased with his performance where he was made to work hard in many of his races. Holder’s starts were one aspect of his riding that were below his usual high standards, but several of his slower starts were followed by his best rides as he stormed through the field to win all but one of his races.
  17. Personally, I thought the observations raised on Milik were in general, both balanced and fair with the odd dose of banter. I think the move is something of a gamble but one that could work out very well for Poole and Vaclav. May I take this opportunity to wish the supporters of all our teams a Happy Christmas & a Prosperous 2014.
  18. Quick of the mark Jacques!....Thanks for the information.
  19. Doesn't Nick stay at Roscoe's house?......Might be a bit difficult over breakfast! I wonder if Neil has a spare room at his B&B
  20. I'm pretty sure Rosco and Swindon would have something to say about that!? http://www.swindonrobins.co/news.php?extend.2109.1
  21. I'm only " the forums' worst poster " and " on ignore" because I have the audacity to stand up and reply to the continuous, snide and patronising remarks that has now embarrassingly, become his trademark. I actually take it as a compliment that the forum's busybody attempts to avoid me because it shows he dislikes reading the truth about himself. And still stirring and trolling the Panthers fans till the end just because he can
  22. You call that a gift!? He/She? has had more regenerations than Dr Who Incidentally, I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised if you Panther fans enjoy your speedway a lot more in the PL rather than the EL? And to think, he remains in denial about being a being a stirring troll
  23. Before you finally leave the Elite League section - may I wish all the Panthers fans a Merry Christmas and I hope it all works out for you in 2014.
  24. Good luck next season and I sincerely hope to see the Panthers back where they belong in the top league (whatever that may be!?) very soon.
  25. Welcome back Magic......... http://www.speedwaygb.co/news.php?extend.23492 PIRATES BRING BACK JANOWSKI TUESDAY DECEMBER 17, 2013 WORLD Cup winner Maciej Janowski will be back with Poole next season as they attempt to defend the Elite League title. Janowski, who became a club asset of the Pirates last winter, was heavily involved in their late-season charge to glory, and now becomes the fifth name on their 2014 team sheet. Promoter Matt Ford said: “There is no doubt that Magic played a huge part in helping us win the league last season. But both Magic and I believe he has even more to offer the club. “He is an absolute pleasure to work with and at only 22 years of age, I feel he can blossom into a consistent World-class star alongside Darcy Ward next season. With an average of 6.95 he is the sort of rider who ticks all the boxes – I am confident he will improve on that.”
