  1. To be fair and putting jokes aside, both BWitcher and yerropes call it right here and maybe we can now leave it here as well.
  2. This could well turn out to be a tough meeting with plenty to prove from the Poole riders which should result in an interesting meeting? Good luck to both teams and let's hope for a cracking and safe meeting with hopefully, Poole going on to win.
  3. You horrible Poole lot upsetting some people on here and in return, make them feel the strong need to show what bounders and dirty rotten scoundrels you are. Can't you just enjoy the thought of knowing how much it must have gutted them seeing Darcy lift the winners cup last season and how some of the them have been harbouring that thought throughout the winter Up The Pirates All
  4. Oh well sorry Darcy mate, but that's the end of any thoughts of being World Champion.....Because unfortunately the last time the Oracle shared his opinion on a rider having the "potential" to be a World Champion he gave us David Howe:-)
  5. Well I I've just seen this so who knows!? http://www.speedwaygp.com/news/article/3155/crump-puts-ward-on-track
  6. During the winter Darcy has been getting some gating tips from Jason Crump so it will be interesting to see what he has picked up from the ex triple World Champion? http://www.speedwaygp.com/news/article/3131/darcy-calls-on-crump Hell - even his voice appears to have broken into a deeper tone so there is hope yet!
  7. Welcome news for Kyle with kind and generous sponsorship.....Well done to all concerned PIRATES reserve Kyle Newman admits his 2014 machinery has been greatly improved by financial backing from a variety of sponsors. The Poole-born rider, who scored five points in last week's 48-42 challenge victory over Lakeside, revealed pressure had been taken off his shoulders by fresh funding. He told the Daily Echo: “There are plenty of local companies that have come on board and I owe them all a massive thanks. “I’ve been trying to build four new chassis and the simple fact is that without the sponsors, I wouldn’t have been able to do that. “It would have been a lot harder and I would have been under a lot more pressure going into the season.” Evolution Skateparks provided Newman with a four-figure sum and director and projects manager David Trickey, himself a former rider, said the 22-year-old had been a deserving recipient. Trickey said: “We were looking for an up and coming British rider who would benefit from having more sponsors on board. “Kyle seemed switched on and a genuine guy to work with and we’ve given him a sum of money to go towards his bikes. “I’ve got a lot of contacts in speedway so we’re going to try and give him as much help as we can throughout the season.” Article from Daily Echo... http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/speedway/piratesnews/11118423.Poole_Pirates__Newman_grateful_to_generous_sponsors/
  8. Last season Play-off SF: Wolves 44 - Birmingham Brummies 46 & Brummies 55 - Wolves 38 Steve, when we see you actually think you "had the last laugh" after the above thrashing - then that is funny Why can't you just wait till the end of the season like the other Wolves fans on here rather than start bragging now and potentially set yourself up for another fall if you bomb out?
  9. For a while now the Poole track has been poor so the improvement that has been commented on is most welcome. I sincerely hope you Coventry fans are still around to visit us in Poole come "May" and "July".
  10. Well I'm pleased to hear that!.........Thank you for clarifying and good luck with the operation.
  11. On reflection Steve0 you are correct. However, I don't like to see this sort of thing getting out of hand like this.
  12. This should be a very good meeting and one that is difficult to call. However, I will go with home advantage with Lakeside the winners by 8-10 points?
  13. The local papers view of proceedings: Poole Pirates: Early promise from Ford's men THERE will be greater tests to come, but Matt Ford’s fledglings showed glimpses of the quality required for Elite League success as they passed their first examination of 2014 last night. Against an erratic but dangerous Lakeside outfit, Pirates overcame several significant speed bumps in securing a 48-42 challenge match victory in their first competitive outing of the season. With five heats gone, Aussie star Darcy Ward had twice been set back by engine failures and Vaclav Milik had experienced mechanical gremlins, with Lakeside able to cling on to a narrow lead from heat six until heat 11. Arriving late to the party, Ward was once again Pirates’ lynchpin as he stormed to wins in heats 13 and 15, supplementing the terrific work of Shamek Pawlicki throughout the meeting. Opening in untypical fashion, Ward retired on bend three of heat one as the hosts fell 4-2 behind. Reserve Lee Smart gamely held off Adam Ellis, before ex-Pirate Davey Watt failed to swipe away Maciej Janowski in heat three, allowing the Pole and frontrunner Pawlicki to notch a 5-1. However, a retirement for Czech new boy Milik resulted in the Hammers returning the maximum favour and the teams were locked at 12-12. Ward’s engine misery continued in race five and there was further drama when the Hammers’ Mikkel Bech fell after locking up on bend three, only to remount and scoot home for a point. The Hammers inched 19-17 in front with a 4-2 despite Pawlicki’s neat move inside Lewis Bridger and the advantage became four courtesy of Bech’s jet-propelled gate. Heat eight was shared and the second reserves’ race proved a more exciting affair, with a frustrated Smart all over the back wheel of the third-placed Ben Morley. Ward finally bagged three points before the heat of the night came in 11, as Bech passed Maciej Janowski and Pawlicki for the lead inside half a lap, only for the latter to come roaring back. Supporters from both sides were relieved to see Kyle Newman get to his feet after sliding under the air fence in race 12 and then Ward delivered his second win in spite of an unintentional wheelie on bend four of the second lap. A shared penultimate heat ensured that only a 5-1 maximum from the visitors would result in honours ending even and sure enough, Ward and Pawlicki delivered. While skipper Ward left his rivals in the dust on the re-run, Pawlicki remounted mid-race to secure a point and a closing 4-2 Article from the Daily Echo continues.... http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/11104811.Poole_Pirates__Early_promise_from_Ford_s_men/
  14. Lets give thanks and praise to Saint Stephen of Brum for descending from his lofty tower and the higher moral ground he walks on, to actually come amongst us and share on a daily basis, his doctrine, self-righteous thoughts and of course, his displays of worldly wisdom. Up the Pirates Steve :-)
  15. Hopefully Lakeside should give us a good run out and I would be happy with a ten point win?
  16. Oh my..... how dare I have an opinion that differs from the forum troll You run away now and keep me on ignore, at least that way it saves you from reading the truth about yourself. Hope that wasn't too "vile" or upsetting for you Steve When it comes to trolling on the Poole threads Gavan, you aren't that far behind him either.
  17. RP...I wouldn't expect you would get a straight or honest answer from the forum troll...... just the usual back-tracking nonsense Post edited. That doesn't matter in the world of the forum troll or would suit his agenda ... Anyway, he is so one eyed - It's like trying to reason with a brick wall
  18. Sorry for you Somerset supporters but welcome to the one eyed world of purposely provoking stevebrum. In other words a Troll.
  19. Is this the guy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YjvY_-w12kQ&list=RDtAU6HYpvzUU
  20. Ask Hougaard to write you out a prescription.... He hasn't got around to telling us he is a Doctor yet. But that is only a question of time
  21. Pathetic from the Coventry ground-staff and management. I feel for the people who spent good money only to arrive at the stadium to be given news like that.
  22. Good and informative thread Andrew...... Many thanks.
