I agree 100% with that.

Poole's first meeting of the season is the defence of the Elite Shield which gives us a rather tough two leg affair against a very good Stars team. With Gomolski, North and Starke having to settle in to the Poole team and also at Wimborne Road and by all accounts Chris Holder looking " a bit rusty" plus the Stars already having a settled team, then I would not be surprised to see Poole lose this on aggregate over the two legs? Still it's great to have speedway back again and as always, may the best team win.

Which team starman supports is irrelevant. And now you confirm how ridiculous this argument is by making yet another post full of insults and at the same time criticising starman for doing the same! I enjoy reading Poole news and banter on here from all the different posters and try to input some interesting topics within the Poole thread until you come along with the usual flaming rhetoric and matters generally take a turn for the worse. Stick to friendly banter gavan and I would try to take you and what you are trying to get across a bit more seriously.
-
I'll always stick up for free speech gavan, but not the level you take it too and the above cheap-throwaway remark perfectly shows you for what you are. And if starman is doing as you say, then he needs to stop, reflect and change his approach to posting. (God knows if I can do that, then anyone can!) Two wrongs don't make a right guys.
-
Tell that to gavan who tends to break them most days with personal insults resulting in any decent comment being lost or taken seriously.
-
Gavan doesn't like Matt Ford. Gavan doesn't like Neil Middleditch . Gavan doesn't like starman plus " 1 or 2 others" on here and feels free to personally insult them when he feels the need....particularly starman on a regular basis. Gavan takes hypocrisy to another level with the last line in his post above. ( " i will discuss actually debate rather than just pathetically insult people") Gavan is under the impression that his opinion on Poole matters is so important he has to share it with us every day - Even if he does sound like a broken record!

Enjoy Poole fans! http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/speedway/piratesnews/11864968.GOPRO_VIDEO__Grand_Prix_star_Chris_Holder_slides_round_Wimborne_Road/ "CHRIS Holder got a few laps under his belt at Wimborne Roadtoday as Poole Pirates held their press and practice. And the 2012 world champion slid round the circuit with the Daily Echo’s GoPro camera on board."

According to this press release it's down to many reasons but not apparently, a decision taken by FIM? Good luck to Kings Lynn - Having read the statement you may well need it MATT Ford admitted that concerns over finance and the level of competition had prompted Poole Pirates’ decision to withdraw from the World Speedway League. The promoter had been a big supporter of last year’s inaugural event in Poland at which Poole finished second behind Swedish outfit Piraterna. However, despite initially having declared an interest in hosting this year’s event, Ford admitted that too many barriers had stood in the way of Pirates’ participation. Discussing the decision not to host, Ford told the Daily Echo: “First and foremost the meeting would be incredibly expensive to put on and it would have meant that I would have had to start in the region of £30 for a ticket. “That was a no go. I think the club would have ended up catching a pretty nasty cold staging the event, and that was just to break even, not make a profit. “I didn’t want to give the club a huge financial loss in April.” Ford added that he felt the setup of the competition would not give his team a fair chance of holding their own against their continental rivals – Gorzow, Vetlanda and Holsted. He continued: “While Poland, Sweden and Denmark run to a squad system, Britain doesn’t. It’s only fair that if our opponents are afforded that facility then we should be afforded the same thing. “The guys that came first, second and third in last year’s Grand Prix at Gorzow – Bartosz Zmarzlik, Matej Zagar and Krzysztof Kasprzak – all ride for Gorzow, along with Niels-Kristian Iversen and Linus Sundstrom. “If you were to take a points limit for those five riders in the UK they would be near 45 rather than the 34 that we have to work to. “Likewise, Vetlanda have Emil Sayfutdinov, Jarek Hampel, Tai Woffinden, Thomas H Jonasson and Peter Ljung and it’s just too much – we just wouldn’t be competitive. “It cost us a five-figure sum to enter last year and I can’t see the sense in going into it again unless you have some chance of being competitive. “It’s a totally different situation to the Champions League in football. When certain clubs enter that competition they appreciate there is very little chance of them winning it. However, because of TV rights and increased admissions, they know they can make millions of pounds. “That’s not true in our case, we lose money by entering and I can’t see the sense in sending a team that isn’t competitive to lose money. “The tournament needs to be taken seriously but all teams need to be level.” http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/11863958.Speedway__Ford_reveals_concerns_over_World_Speedway_League/

No doubt you will use another one of your aliases to stick up for yourself as you continually attempt to play to the gallery. And as we speak!

I would think the feeling is mutual - whoever you are or not

Back on topic regarding Poole matters.... POOLE Pirates have become the first British speedway club to be awarded a new sponsor licence – paving the way for Aussie star Chris Holder to ride in 2015. Pirates applied at the beginning of February and passed a compliance inspection last week, with the licence granted on Friday. The first certificate of sponsorship – for Grand Prix ace Holder – was produced on the same day. All sponsor clubs voluntarily surrendered their licences at the end of January after process and record-keeping issues were highlighted by UK Visas and Immigration. The Poole hierarchy is confident that a more robust system within the club is now in place. Promoter Matt Ford said: “My heartfelt thanks must be passed to Nigel Leahy (announcer) who has acted with great haste and professionalism in this matter. “I have always made clear how having the right team off-track gives us the tools to be successful on-track and this is a clear indication of that. “We now hope that Chris's application is seamless and we all look forward to seeing him take his place with us in March.” Article from Bournemouth Echo.... http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/11800674.Speedway__Holder_s_Pirates_return_inches_closer/ Hopefully we will see Majic included in the team soon.

Talking about how Darcy could benefit from a mentor - I remeber when Darcy was getting some advice on his starting technique from three-time World Champion Jason Crump around a couple of years ago, I really hoped he would listen and learn just how much discipline it requires to be a World Champion but unfortunately for him and the world of speedway, he chose another path. He has the undoubted ability to do it and there is still time for him to get his act together but I still have this nagging doubt the guy was made with a self destruct button within and he keeps pressing the button! Personally, I wish Jason would become more involved with his speedway career and give him the kick up the jacksy he needs to fulfil his wonderful natural ability on a speedway bike. It's up to you Darcy which way you take - Chump or Champ?.... I really hope it's Champ.

Happy New Year to all Poole fans and here's wishing for a successful defence of our league title in 2015
-
Many would like Poole to pick Darcy so they can have a good Chris for this season and let Darcy get his act together come back the following one. However, I would say that if Darcy is to be our number 1, ( subject to clearance and the obvious waiting to see from Matt ) then he will get the same 100% support I give to any rider wearing the Poole colours.
-
Subject to Darcy been given the all clear to return to speedway from the hearing on 8th January 2015 , I could well see Matt making him the first choice? Then what will Chris do?.. Personally I wouldn't like to see him riding for another EL team but the guy has got to make a living so I wish him well. That's of course if things do turn out as above!?

Holder over Ward all day long for me. Darcy should take a break from the UK whether ban enforced or not.

Sky Coverage Wanted Of Poole V Coventry
Poole Quay 7 replied to home straight's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Well you can eliminate me from any betting because I find it a lot more easier to be nice to people than unpleasant! Shame for some people and myself that I wasn't like like this from the start because there is nothing clever in being unnecessarily unpleasant at times and believe it or not, it actually go's against the grain and my friends and family that really know me, wouldn't actually believe that was me!! I'll still defend my name and Poole Speedway when necessary, but I'm pleased to say it will be done in a more refined manner that is in keeping with my own personality I do wonder about a couple of others on here though ( not you Steve ).......Time will tell!? -

If the result was the other way around then personally, I wouldn't dream of watching it again so fair play to whoever they are! -

Well done Steve and I'm sure home straight will thoroughly enjoy watching it! -
judging by the way MF is talking, it would appear he would like Darcy to return subject to the length of the ban of course. The final decision on the length of the ban will take into account the time he has already spent not riding. People can guess and speculate on the length and apparently, we should know in November. Maybe a year away from riding in the UK would do the lad some good!?.......Time will tell. I will reiterate again I would like Chris back and hopefully in the team building we can also accommodate Magic!

I have recently taken a more reserved view of things on here and I fully intend to continue in that vein. Being a public forum it attracts all sorts of people with all sorts of styles of writing and attitudes and of course having different opinions is only natural and good. However, thinking you have got one over someone at the expense of making yourself look unpleasant and unpopular isn't a clever move by anyone and yes, I'll put my hand up and admit I have been guilty of this to a few people and I now, publicly apologise and hope we move on. I'll still defend Poole Speedway if I feel the criticism isn't constructive but instead of going for the poster - I'll demonstrate why I think they are wrong in a more constructive manner and like most other people, just ignore any blatant trolling. You will never get a perfect state of Utopia on any public forum, however, I just hope a couple of others will refrain from blaming other posters......stop the sarcastic wind-ups, baiting and writing flaming rhetoric... otherwise they will start to stand out from the crowd...... Actions speak louder than words and constructive speedway conversations, a bit of banter and friendly wind ups is the way to go and I hope it continues!?

If we had to make a choice between Milik or Pawlicki, then personally I would rather have Pawlicki but its all about team limits and averages so time will tell?
