  1. I believe Richard Lawson is mentoring him, he was at the Aces/Wolves meeting recently. I agree with you either a former or experienced rider would be helpful which is why I was sorry to see Scotty leave, he would have been perfect.
  2. My understanding is that sky had a contract but decided they did not want to go ahead with it so they "gave" it to BT at no charge but BT has to pick up all the costs of showing it. But that arrangements ends at the end of the season so BT will then have to decide whether they want to negotiate a new deal. Not 100% sure that I am right with all of that.
  3. Has anyone actually spoken to him? Just saying his back can cover a multitude of issues.
  4. Well Mr Ford needs to be quick, isn't the last date for changes on the 31st (injuries excepted)
  5. Buster has released a statement on the web site. It sounds like one ore more of your riders may be facing an open door
  6. Can anyone tell me of a decent B&B, pub or hotel I could stay on Monday night. Don't fancy the drive back to London after the match but not familiar with the area. Thanks folks
  7. He isn't, Bates rode and came second or third depending on which site you are following.
  8. This could so easily have been avoided by making it a free entry but everyone was making a £20 donation to the Darcy Foundation. This seems so much like BV last year except BV did give refunds despite the huge lossess, in like manner Ford should do the same and take the hit himself, it must be petty cash for him. Interesting that Noddy and Darcy seem to have agreed about the state of the track.
  9. Mark has said that the team is virtually complete just some final details to sort out. Could that be visas for Max and Sedgman?
  10. I believe Maxs' van last year was silver so it must have changed colour.
  11. If that is true Phil, as you report it, then why doesn't Mr Philip Rising or his colleagues at Speedway Star start digging round, starting with you, and earn their money as journalists. It is disgraceful that the chairman of the governing body has the power to do this sort of thing and the lackeys on the board allow him to. Then people wonder why we cannot attract high profile sponsers and backers to the sport.
  12. My understanding is that the BSPA do grant a license to the promoters who are not necessarily the owners. The promoters could be employed by the owners.
  13. Is it a coincidence that tomorrow is also the day that the Speedway Star prints the report on the track?
  14. The crucial word you missed out Phil is "COULD"
  15. Thank you, Philip. I will be glad when this whole sorry mess can be put to bed. And, please God, the new prospective owners can get us all back to speedway and us beating Poole.
  16. In fairness Philip whoever posted the articles did not claim any source. I hope your decision to go to print was from having clearance from MCC solicitors.
  17. Max struggled at Lakeside as well, he was terrible in the play-offs.
  18. Well, according to the BSPA the new owners have been approved by MCC, so who told you they have not been accepted, names would give us something to check your sources.
  19. I responded to a tweet, reputedly from SpeedwayGB , saying everything in place by saying we had nothing. They reputedly replied as my posting. The formatting reflects my lack of technical skill not being fake. Mind you there have been any number of these recently on the Aces fan page on Facebook which a certain Mr Mullally is very prominent contributor of which all of his are genuine.
  20. Here is a copy of a reply from SpeedwayGB to a tweet I sent them. Their answer first with my question second. Sorry for the formatting. But, we have no team, no promoter, no stadium, no riders - in fact nothing. This is not a joke or a fake, I do neither.
  21. From what you have said there Philip, putting aside what did or did not happen at or before the GOM, if I was one of the two new owners I would make sure my contract with MCC was so watertight that any future issues or "promises" made would be covered. Tell me though, why if all the terracing should have been completed and it wasn't why aren't Gordon and Morton making more of a defence case to support them.
