  1. Uninspired choice. A rider who I am pretty sure I've never seen do anything interesting ever.
  2. Lindback is the worst speedway rider ever to be on. Got stung by that sap in the SGP betting
  3. Pedersen knows that if he closes the door on Bellego but is still in front he is unlikely to get excluded. I think the reason NP has so many more of these incidents is because: (1) he is vulnerable to the big blast round the outside. He's been under powered for the last 4-5 years (2) he's proper a dirty rider Still love him though!
  4. I think it would be a lot closer than you might think especially if held away from Poland. Consider that Russia have Emil, Laguta x 2 and Gleb. Denmark have LM, NP, NKI and Mikkelsen. They would run any polish team close. Perhaps lose by 5-10 points in Poland but outside Poland I reckon they could take it to the last couple of heats. Can you remember the year when Sweden had no right to win but did?! Anyway onwards and upwards.
  5. Still hopeful for this meeting in terms of racing even with TW out. Would have like to see Lindback in for Ljung though. Togliatti might be a leveller and give GB a better chance at sneaking 5th ahead of the Swedes. Cook rode well in the SGP challenge in 2017 on the same track (albeit flooded) Would love to see a full strength 4 man team event though. Pol v Den v Rus v Aus. That would be sensational.
  6. Meeting got better but it was poor. I just don't understand how the organisers cant produce a decent race track for 10 meetings a year. It's completely crazy. The viewing spectacle has to be the most important thing and it's so often neglected. Earlier comments about getting some test races done on the track prior to the SGP is absolutely spot on. I would have bullet Hallstavik for 2020.
  7. Berntzon 50 less Magic 25 more Lindgren 25 more Vaculik 50 less Emil 50 more Good luck everyone!
  8. have a memory of EG just pushing his bike by the starting grid totally p***** off ! Simon Wigg. What a super rider. Speedway, Grasstrack, Longtrack. Great memories from his 2 seasons at Bradford
  9. 1989 was definitely shown on TV. Did E. Gundersen get an engine failure on the way to the tapes and get excluded?
  10. Sad news for you. Hopefully it might kick start a revolution! The team is all wrong if you ask me. Doyle Senior and NKI cant regularly provide the big scores and aren't going to get any better. They dont have enough quality Poles for the home team to get behind. Holta on paper looked like a great signing as he was on fire at Czestowchowa in 2017 but following his injury he looks completely done. Jack Holder I feel slightly sorry for. He's only a young lad really and he has a lot of pressure to make the rides. Put him in another team and I am sure he would flourish Lublin are just going from strength to strength. Michelson is a proper heat leader and G Laguta seems to have come back from his ban better than ever. Rest of the team are all just dogs who don't give an inch.. even AJ seems to be showing plenty of aggression!
  11. I was tempted! Shame that after some amazing speedway races that's what some people want to bring to the table.
  12. Interesting topic. Speaking to my dad who went to Halifax 1965-84 I think he would disagree with it been a horrible track. His view was that it was super fast (perhaps only Crewe faster?) and caught a lot of visiting riders out. Back then the spectacle of speedway was so exciting and coupled with the noise and slug of air at the back of the Shay main stand it was thrilling (similar times eh?) Another poster mention Chris Pusey who remains my dad's favourite ever rider and after watching speedway for over 50 years that's pretty good going. A friend of his has actually reproduced an exact Chris Pusey replica bike but that's for a different thread Onto Bradford... Another track around a pitch. I'd say for most of the 20 years racing at Odsal was generally OK. Decent shape and plenty wide enough. Then in the last few years before closure with the likes of Wigg, Loram, Screen, Sean Wilson the track was prep'd in such a way that you could see visually the outside of the bends was thick with extra dirt. All of sudden you had the most tremendous race track. Just wished they'd done it 15 years earlier!!
  13. Agreed. Very pleased for Kolodjei. He's such a great rider in Poland and love the camo!! Madsen a gater? I don't think so. He's a good gater but has plenty more in the locker. He came from 4th to 1st in the semi!!!
  14. And hopefully it wont come back. Absolute dump of a race track. Pretty stadium though
  15. I'm not convinced that the Polish riders are that much better than everyone else. The Polish lads have a huge advantage in that they get so much more quality racing and exposure on tracks they have grown up on. Look at last year you had Kolodziej, Hampel, KK, Pawlicki, Smeketa, Buckowski in the qualifiers. All top riders in Extraliga. Yet only Kolodziej finished top 3 in any of the 4 matches.
  16. Wasnt 1 league tried around 94? Not sure if it was the same season that it was an 18 heat formula. From memory it was a bit rubbish Use of Guest, R/R, riding for multiple teams etc. It's all a bit odd and unique to speedway. Personally I'd rather see a guest ride as I want to see competitive racing and have no personal attachment to any team.
  17. Gutted for Woffinden. In time he might consider himself fortunate that it wasn't worse. Sober reminder of what these guys do for a living The way Wroclaw rode was superb. Really felt like they upped their game. Best I've seen Fricke ride in Poland for over a year
