  1. The new 20,000 seater stadium at Blunsdon will have retractable roof
  2. So that's something like out of 9 scheduled home fixtures only 3 have been completed, 2 not completed, and 4 called off! 2012 again! At least the forecast is good for the televised fixture on Monday against BV. Wont be buying tickets in advance though even though will save 7 quid. Not good for crowd levels all these call-offs. Hasn't rained for a while in Royal Priory Vale.
  3. Last Thursday was great weather...typical, no meeting!
  4. Would put Zagar higher and Doyle Killer Andersen Nicholls lower, and Bech and Kerr definitely in top 10 at mo.
  5. That's why he's a Grand Prix rider, I've seen them all go missing when the pressure is on. All slagging off Gusto but what do the Lynn fans think of Schleiny, gone right down the pan since 2/3 years ago?
  6. well-earned point at the favs, but lead thrown away yet again. Gusto must go now.
  7. They're having an area where bins are stored called "Leonard Rabbish Yard". What about Richardson Road, Rosco Row, Ashby Avenue, Briggs Lane, Holloway Way, Duke Drive, Broadbanks Brow, Crump Close, Bouchard Boulevard, Kilby Crescent, Adams Avenue, Street Street, Hewlett Hill, Hitch Heights, Munday Mount, Williams House, Teodorowicz Terrace, Jones Passage, Roger Piece, White Walk, Autrey Gardens, Nilsen Mews, Fry Fields, Brett Path, Keen Court, Gresham Green, Gjedde Meadow, Kildemand Corner, Andersen Mead, Batchelor Brook, Bastable Yard, Chessell Chase, Smart View, Stead Square, Karger Gate, Olsson Park, Thomsen Place, Gray Grange, etc.,...
  8. Great gesture from Swindon Council to name three roads around the new stadium after legends Kilby Holloway Richardson. Perhaps they could fit in Adams Briggs Ashby Broadbanks Crump Rosco Hewlett Keen Jones etc., if enough roads are built.
  9. should be easy win for those Narfolk boys, though if Captain Batch can get his arse in gear could be a surprise in store for the EL favs, would expect more from Killer as well. North and Worrall trump cards again I hope.
  10. Superb win for North Dakota over the world champ, but rubbish ending after being ahead...disgraceful display from Batch a Grand Prix rider. Kennett to come in.
  11. Swindon can get at least a point here...there's a Killer on the loose!!!
  12. Would like to see an in-form Edward Kennett back, remember seeing him and Steady taking on the best in the world a few years ago at Cardiff. He was so good they even named a local Wiltshire river after him! Get yer finger out Edward... was in the top 10 of the averages in the first half of last year.
  13. Have watched speedway at The Steam Railway, South Marston Hotel, Jovial Monk, Wheatsheaf, The New Inn, and Village Hotel in Swindon...they normally put it on if you ask them.
  14. Superb win for Roscos Rampant Red Rockin Robins...didn't need to go down to last heat. Brandon is definitely Robins fav track.
  15. Swindon always seemed to win last-heat deciders at Brandon when Leigh Adams was riding, but think Cov will shade this one, after winning at Blunsdon.
  16. was going at the bargain tenner but got absorbed in the snooker final and the weather looked dodgy..good luck to those Roscos Rampant Rockin Red Robins!!!
  17. Remember seeing Tone ride at West Am and Swindon...excellent rider...RIP
  18. I remember...but then he crumbled after that.
  19. I looked at the BBC site, hope it's wrong, if the weather was same as today or yesterday would have been bumper crowd. Dogs is good value, went last Wednesday, 14 quid... 3-course meal, seat, racecard, excellent VFM, even won a few quid. Free admission tomorrow
  20. Rain forecasted for 8.00 tomorrow, start it at 6.30 instead!
  21. If the weather is ok good VFM on Bank Holiday...should be a good crowd for this 10 quid sport.
  22. The crowds at the Shabbey stadium have certainly fallen since Leigh Adams left, used to get 4-5000 plus for the Grand Finals and big meetings, about 1400-1500 since then, unless Poole are visiting, which adds another 1000 on, a lot different from the 5000 plus average in the 60s/70s/early 80s, when sometimes they had bigger crowds than STFC. That bumper lock-out crowd for the Golden Helmet in 79 was around16-17000, will be lucky to get that for whole season's league meetings this year! Think Worky's average crowds have gone from about 1200 10 years ago, when I used to go, to 7-800 now. Couldn't have been more than 200 when I went to IOW a few years ago, then went out of business when it went down to 100-150. Guy said they were getting 600 average when in PL.
  23. is that the big geezer with the beard?, yeah bit of a miserable bugger. Good for Wiltshire Ham, Double Eggs and Chips.
