  1. Not far out. Thought it was an excellent meeting, thrills and spills, and superb win for 5-man Swindon. Well done especially to Gusto and Worrall, and pity Doyley isn't still riding for Swindon. Robins missed Morra, and Leicester missed Steady. Good to see old fav Geoff Bouchard and Darryl Ritchings there. Thought the crowd of around 1000 was very poor on what was a decent evening, and this must be a major cause for concern. Cant carry on in the EL with those sort of attendances!
  2. They may have had bigger hearts, but another thing is a lot of the riders were local, and had pride to ride for their local club. Nowadays a lot of riders are just foreign mercenaries who ride for 3/4 different clubs, and don't have the same commitment.
  3. Except Blunsdon Hill, where there will be heavy showers! The last time I saw Leicester at Swindon Ray Wilson was riding for them,(excellent rider)battling against the likes of Briggo, Ashby, Kilby, Broady, Keener, Hitchy, Munday, Dukey, must have been about 1970. With so many ex-Robins in the line-up might be closer than expected, Mads could get 15 or 6....48-42 to the Rosco Rampant Rockin Ones. Latest MET Office forecast ...sunny all day
  4. Some of the junk people come out with...Morra is one of the most fearless riders in British speedway. He has obviously never seen him ride at The Shabbey, especially the time he smoked Holder the then world champ, one of the best passing moves I've seen in 51 years of watching this once great sport.
  5. Doubt if many in positions of authority have ever read this,... so much sodding negativity from some of these keyboard warriors, in amongst the more intelligent posters. Most people join then probably give up reading some of the drivel because of the whingers, who seem to be in the majority. People are just jealous of the success Rosco has achieved...something they couldn't envisage in their own tiny lives, and post anonymously rather than saying it to the target's face. Criticising riders from the safety of their PC's, wouldn't have the bottle to ride a speedway bike the sad gits
  6. Followed the Dons in the mid/late 60s in the days of Nygren, Hedge, Luckhurst, etc., after New Cross closed, was the only track left in souf London, before moving to Swindon in 68. Had mixed feelings on who to support when they visited Blunsdon.
  7. Rosco is one hell of a big baby...but Swindon's best-ever boss. Roscos Rampant Red Rockin Robbing Robins luckily live to fight again. Must do better on Thursday against the Lions.
  8. Wonderful riding from the Woffmeister, nicely poised for the Cardiff GP on July 12 with so many in contention. WOFFY!WOFFY!WOFFY!
  9. Will go for a Rosco's Rampant Rockin Red Robins win 48-42, hopefully they wont throw the lead away again.
  10. Iversen and Bjerre can afford an off night then Schweiny and Kerr step up to the plate and seal the victory...the team to beat.
  11. Welcome back at Swindon anytime...EL Best Pairs winner with Leigh 2004.
  12. As people have said it was not the track but poor visibility. The shale is the finest quality known from South Cerney shale pits up the road from The Abbey, and has been in use since 1949. It is the best money can buy. Great Gusto performance silencing the critics. What size crowd last night?
  13. Anyway two wins out of two over the Aces...move on peeps.
  14. I would go to the Grand Prix at Cardiff, buy the most expensive seat, and sit back and enjoy getting beer spilled over your manbag.
  15. What sort of attendance ?.... Belle Vue didn't deserve a point, very poor on both visits to the Shabbey.
  16. Well done Swindon especially Gusto ..again. Glad I came home from the dogs up there and didn't bother to go back for the speedway. Yet another abandonment, that's only 3 meetings completed in 10 attempts. Can see this Robins side gradually moving up the table, All-round strength.
  17. reported that the new stadium will have state-of-the-art digital transmission facilities that will do away with the need for outside broadcast units, and viewing will be similar to "horse racing" with glass-fronted lounge and outside viewing areas. Pay for Park-and-ride from Cricklade Road means there will be more parking for free on St.Andys Ridge.
  18. I will be loitering in the back-straight bogs dressed in a tuxedo and carrying an Excalibur sword if people are looking for bovver.
  19. IVERSEN Bjerre Zagar Doyle Kerr Nicholls Batch Killer Lawson Blackbird Pawlickis Bech Andersen Michelsen Woffy thereabouts
  20. Just come home from the track, watched a few dog races(less than 100 there). Spoke to Rosco who said they were thinking of watering the track, looked in very good nick, and despite the drizzle should be all-systems go. Should be a discount on the night for fans as cant see there being many there again.
  21. Off to Blunsdon for the rest of the dog racing now.
  22. Worrall was their top scorer last time, so if the Zagarmeister and Cookie get their act together could make life difficult for Swindon, although yet again the weather could disrupt the meeting. With Sky there though would have to be bad for it to be called off!
  23. R.I.P. Simmo...remember him in second-halves at New Cross, then Hackney West Ham and Kings Lynn, and Swindon. for 1 year
  24. Matty wont score 4 again(probably), Cookie shouldn't get 3 again either...wish he was still riding for Swindon, as in 2009 when Swindon topped the table, some superb team riding with Leigh Adams that season, Leigh hugging the white line and the Zagarmeister blasting round the boards. Gusto needs a good one again, great 15 at Eastbourne last night. Should be a lot closer this time, with Scotty doing better.
  25. Hope it will be a repeat of the last meeting with Zagar scoring 3 and Gusto being top scorer for those Rosco's Rampant Rip-Roaring Rocking and Rolling Red Robins again!
