  1. Iversen Ward Doyle Zagar Pawlicki Wolves Batch Worrall Swindon Janowski Andersen Schlein Brits Lawson and Harris, and Killer and Watt not far away. But Woffy not top 10.
  2. With 5 wins out of last 6, Worrall on fire, and their good away form, Swindon should make the play-offs on current form. Can beat KL over 2 legs. Will go Poole-Swindon final, with Coventry and KL making the play-offs, as they can all win away.
  3. fantastic team effort by those Roscos Rampant Rockin Randy Red Robins. Another late surge from Killer Batch and Worrall, that has stunned Lynn Poole and Leicester in recent weeks. Should get into the play-offs at this rate. Well done to Greavsy, and full commitment from Killer after riding in Russia. That's 5 wins out of last 6. Kid Morra getting new mechanic. GO ROBINS!!!
  4. Another superb evening of speedway thrills and spills at Blunsdon, and sat on the banks in great weather with a cold pint what more could you want! After beating Lynn and Poole thought Leicester might surprise Swindon with ex-Robins Doyle and Klindt looking unbeatable, but captain's performance again from Batch in last heat to seal another Robins comeback full of character. Well done Worrall, and biggest cheer was Greaves lone point. About 1300 peeps there. No meeting for 3 weeks now. I swore I saw Lord Lucan in the back-straight bogs.
  5. Will be close as last time...will go 48-42 Swindon. I think the Robins are the only home team not to have taken max points off bottom club Leicester? Need to win this, and they have beaten the top 2, KL and PP, in the last two home meetings. GO ROBINS!!!
  6. The official attendance at Cardiff was 41800... nearly 6000 up on the last one I attended in 2012, so good news.
  7. If the new Swindon stadium opening(we hope)next year has 40000 seats and roof have it there as its only a 20-minute walk from my house!
  8. 7-10 years ago the Adams-led Swindon were probably averaging around 1800-2000, now probably down to around 1400...1000 on a bad night and over 2000 on a good night. The top Swedish crowds are far higher than the EL, as the Eastie promoter was saying try to promote speedway in front of 700 at Eastbourne compared to over 3000 in Sweden and 15000 in Poland.
  9. Crowds are down at Swindon as there is so much to do there is no time for speedway. Also the 99% Afro/Asian population only likes cricket and football, Christ knows how the ice hockey club flourishes. Also the massive surrounding farming population of Wilts /Berks/ Glos/ Oxon cannot afford fuel for their tractors to get to the stadium. It is almost impossible to climb in now because of the securityAlso some fans are scared to use the notorious back-straight bogs. These are what I would class as the main factors for lower crowds Poole were probably paying him..the financial problems at Swindon last year and non-trying by riders is well-known unfortunately
  10. How many of you Robins forummers went to Cardiff? Saw 3 Robins fans wearing Mohican wigs yesterday, never seen 'em at The Abbey! Plenty of Robins colours there. Batch was disappointing after the last GP, but generally Leigh never did a lot at Cardiff either. Good to see Mr.Hunt and Blunsdon track staff in attendance. Was behind Eddie Kennett in ticket queue, one of his mates very derogatory about his time with Swindon! Wonder why? The GP is a different world to the EL.
  11. We were going to come off at junction 32 Cardiff East, then used the directed junction 33 Cardiff West as short of time due to traffic congestion on the M4. We have used junc.33 the previous 5 times we have gone by car, the first time was from the old Cardiff ground at Ninian Park, then County Hall. Was no problem then. You don't expect to pay 10 quid for park n' WALK! Need to get that organised better. First GP was best one for me, awesome atmosphere among the 40000 speed fans, and enjoy chatting to fans from different clubs. Sat next to two old guys from Bristol, wearing jackets from the 70s literally covered in hundreds of metal and cloth club badges. Said they haven't been washed since 1978! Not as many Polish fans since Gollob retired. It's a different world from league speedway so anyone attending the GP is unlikely to be attracted to a cold night at Blunsdon standing on a grass bank in an outdated stadium with poor views.( I've never seen the 3 Mohican wig wearing Robins fans I saw yesterdayat Swindon's meetings!) Although hopefully the Robins will be moving into their new stadium in late 2015(unlikely to have retractable roof though!).
  12. Great atmosphere, great view, and some good racing and slick presentation as usual...BUT the ten quid Park n'Ride system was crap...waiting too long for buses from Cardiff City F.C. then on the return about quarter-of-a-mile queue for buses so we decided to do the 30-minute walk back to the car park. Next time will not use park n' ride, was better when at County Hall, better off parking in side street nearer stadium or getting taxi from football stadium, or coach or train. Well done to old Greg, unlucky Woffy and Wardy. Back to boring old Blunsdon this week! What was attendance?. Was behind Eddie Kennett in ticket queue at stadium, he was riding there 6 years ago!
  13. no printer mate..and I like the Star GP review. Good Sun red-top spread on Woffy, hope he's ok after bike fall.
  14. Don't always buy one but they're about a tenner with free radio, I use the Speedy Star racecard. Looking forward to my 7th.Cardiff GP and either a Woffy or Batch win. Will be getting the train from Swindon instead of driving this time. Fanzone just outside station this year. Hopefully 40000+ crowd, and great atmosphere. Rain forecast..
  15. Good evening of racing/good weather at the Shabbey...brilliant racing from Wardy, another good comeback from Swindon...Gusto top Robin...Killer and Morra form is a concern though. Crowd of over 1600 according to a steward, so not as good as last time against Poole. Track was bumpy but some good passing.
  16. When you're 58 mate its a bloody struggle to do anything..too old to climb over anything now...ooh young man at your age
  17. Speedway should take a look at the family fun days at horse racing venues, all under 18s free admission and things to do for the kids. Problem is most clubs run on a weekday evening so kids have school next day. Loads of kids at Blunsdon when they had the free Easter egg and air-horns giveaways, but some were sodding nuisances running around!. The kids these days can't interact with the riders as you could years ago when you could wander round the pits getting autographs from well known riders. The riders used to come into the crowd at Swindon after the meeting to sign autographs a couple of years ago but that seems to have stopped now. Rosco mentioned about getting out into local schools to promote the sport but it hasn't happened. The local club is not such a part of the community as STFC is. When I was a nipper half the kids from the estate jumped on the special buses to go up to Blunsdon on a Saturday night, when you could climb in for free! Funtimes!
  18. if Swindon ride like they did against Lynn will be a home win, but hopefully wont be a collapse as against Wolves and Poole last time. Less than 100 is classed as a large away contingent thesedays, but should be 2000+ Robins fans there if decent weather. Forecast not good for Thursday...will go for the normal 7-point Moonrakerr win against those Dorrset Knobberrs.
  19. If Swindon ride like they did last night they can win this on their fav away track.
  20. Fantastic night of speedway at the Abbey...superb comeback from the Robins to inflict KL's heaviest defeat of the season, real captain's performance from Batch in heats 13 and 15, and good all-round teamwork, especially Charlie Wright. One of the best Swindon fightbacks for a while, and 4 points taken off the runaway leaders in 2 matches... good weather and decent-size crowd. Just need more consistency to reach the top 4.
  21. Give the Robins a bit of credit !..will now go 38-54 without Worrall. The rest really need to step up to the plate, after the last home meeting when they threw it away.
  22. Poor showing from the two GP world-beaters Batch and Killer...you expect a better display from Troyboy.
  23. If you're there this week beware of the famous "head-down-the-toilet and bog brush treatment" from Wiltshire Willie
