Excellent win for the Comets, doesn't read as if it was the best of matches but hey, I'll take a scruffy away win anytime!! Good to see Rene finally showing his real form and long may it continue, certainly worth the investment is that new engine, and with Nickolai and the rest of the guys chipping in after Ty was sidelined that's been a really good effort to get the result from a normally difficult track, very positive outlook for us if we can keep this form together especially as most of our remaining meetings are at home!!

Former rather than the latter for me but whatever we're getting it's nowhere near enough considering the potential this team is showing? -

For what it's worth, my own opinion is that interest waned in speedway when it was lost to terrestrial TV, what is shown is not always indicative of the product available, sadly for most out of sight really is out of mind? -

Well I hope your right as it certainly didn't look anywhere near 800/900 from my viewpoint? Would like it to be so tho as with four meetings to pay for out of it this week there will be very little change by the end of it? -
Our final home fixture at the moment is Edinburgh on September 1st, can't see that being the last under current conditions?

Cancelling the meeting originally isn't the issue getting it back on is!!

Annoyed me for year's this end of meeting exodus. Just find it so disrespectful that 300/400 people can't hang fire for five minutes, with so little speedway action to watch thesedays what's the rush? -

An example of why there's been such a breakdown in respect between fans and promotion/s? -

If Steve Whitehead came on here and accepted the apology it's all over, up to now tho it's just apology made, two different things? -

I quite agree with your post BB and the only thing missing now is for Steve Whitehead to come on here and publicly accept Jenga's apology otherwise it just looks exactly like it reads... a typical knee jerk reaction of a hammer to crack a nut? It's a sad state of affairs nonetheless and one that should never have developed to this extent, I hope that once sorted amicably it's kicked into the long grass and we can get on with the season including Jenga's £16!! Lessons on "both" sides need to be learned from this, I do not know either individual concerned but I guess this is what happens when all your hearing from your club is the sound of silence, an accumulation of speculation/accusation develops and then things get a bit out of hand? -

They haven't found me mate and I've been here for years!! -
You couldn't make it up!!

That question has been done to death on various threads mate, when you under achieve it affects people's desire to watch, too many long breaks causes interest to wane, (like this season for example) other things take priority, it all adds up, it's a shame for certain as the product in the Championship is good unfortunately the way it's run isn't?
-
Dunno mate, I haven't been to any Friday meetings, such as they've been, so I can't answer that question? Seen very little so far with one thing and another, 3 to be precise but judging by what I've read it doesn't improve matters at all, maybe if there's a run of meetings to go at on Friday it may yield a different story so it's a case of wait and see really!! Strangely enough you being a Berwick fan you'll get first hand experience, your up next for us a week on Friday!!
-
Half that on a good day, unfortunately!!

The longer this season goes on the more ridiculous it gets?

Can't beat stats Y/B, the figures maybe slightly off but the event certainly stuck? Funnily enough the IOW never crossed my mind, completely forgot about that one!! -

Scroll back up this thread half a dozen posts and you'll find the answer to that!! Always stuck in my mind as I think it was the meeting that ended our very long unbeaten home record at that time? Scunthorpe Saints as they were then with the sign of Simon Templer (The Saint) on the race jacket....if memory serves us oldies will remember that programme?? -
Before this season started I thought Workington were refused permission to run meetings at home on Friday nights as too many teams were already doing so, how then have we managed to get half a season's worth of home fixtures arranged for said Friday nights? We all know it's as much the riders dictating these meetings as promoters so....half way thru the season and these arrangements have to be altered to suit and we go back to racing Saturday's, hey, that's good for me and it's how it should have been from the start but seriously, is this likely to happen, with little to no cooperation within the speedway ranks thesedays I would think this to be nigh on impossible to achieve? Certainly have had/ still got loads of Saturday's available but will we get any reinstated for official fixtures, to be fair many were simply to avoid clashes with the GP's and Craig Cook,s participation in them but it's not just us that have to change, if we moved meetings to the weekend would other clubs come anyway, if you asked them nicely and you received a polite "no thank you" it's not in our interests... would they be forced to race, is this likely? Going to cause some problems this and I await the outcomes with some interest?

Dave spread the word at last night's meeting, Dan's done well to win that one!!
