  1. Very good win for the Comets tonight, satisfied with that, nice 3pts. Must have been difficult for Berwick to come to terms with losing their No1 so early on, reserves not firing either wouldn't have helped especially with having to cover Morris's rides as well, pretty disheartening? As I said previous, couldn't make this match due to work commitments so cant really comment much however, I would like to say that I agree with the Berwick supporter, either this thread or the Saturday match, about running this BH fixture either earlier or, during the afternoon like we used to do back in the 70's, definitely be worth considering if it would encourage more Bandits fans along as I get the feeling a lot would if the timing was more agreeable to getting back for work next day... Suppose a winning side would as well, sorry, had to get that in!! Only joking, best of luck Bandits, it wont be all bad all season, even you have to turn the corner somewhere!!
  2. Must be psychic, couldn't get to this due to an early start time at work!! Mate texted and told me of the bad smash in ht1, hope it's not as bad as it read and all concerned are OK!!
  3. Hope I get a decent start time for myself tonight as I am at work, only saying this as Comets v Berwick BH meetings normally drag out something ridiculous and have caused me to miss the end of the last "three" such meetings?? Should be a relatively comfortable win for the Comets and I'm looking at around 52-38, and some good racing thrown in as well!!
  4. Definitely hope the Comets can put up as good a show for this match as we did tonight, we will certainly need to against a pretty good Scunny side!! Having Micky Dyer in again could be a big help for us at reserve to take advantage of what is being stated as a, "weak" home pairing, lets hope they are then when we get there!!
  5. Excellent performance from the Comets, + guests, never expected that!! Ipswich were very disappointing for the most part and squandering a 20pt lead must be pretty galling for the faithful? Have to admit that the effort's of Cook and Dyer made the show possible tonight, big bounce back from Rusty too after his lapse midweek and solid scoring from the rest of the guy's did the job nicely!! Barker looked superb once he got his eye in and full marks to Ritchie Hawkins, great battling tonight and worth more than he got.. overall tho, too many below par performances from Ipswich to be worth mentioning so needn't bother that, they are a much better team than this and basically were just taken apart by a team who, perhaps, just wanted it more?
  6. Looking forward to this match, definitely think we are 6/8pts too far behind to make it to the next round but hey, we are still in there and, hopefully, Rusty will be more like his usual self tonight and put down a decent score!! Ipswich will make this tough and on last season's performances here certainly know how to fill 2nd and 3rd as and when required, need the gating boots on tonight, cant afford many, if any last places if were to do this, big ask but it is achievable!!!
  7. A very disappointing result as far as the Comets are concerned and one that I didnt expect!! Reads tho like it was just one of those home team performances where everyone just click's and blow's the opposition away so, well done Ipswich, that's "half" of it done!! Hope we can put up a good fight on Saturday but I feel this is going to be about 6/8pts too many, Ipswich are usually a very awkward side to beat at our place and definitely know how to fill 2nd and 3rd, but, you never know!!
  8. My Apologies to all, what am I thinking, maybe I need to get some new glasses!! I'm remembering the "Home" match not the away one, Oh Dear, what a brilliant start to my career?
  9. As I'm new to this forum may I take the opportunity to say Hello to everyone!! In response to the above tho, and I'm sorry June01, the results were, Ht 2, Mills, Morris, Koppe, Knight. Ht 13, Lawson, Bach, Wells, Knight. Simon Stead had been withdrawn, post his Ht 5 scheduled ride and was replaced by Jake Knight.
