Welcome to Ipswich Jonas Jeppesen. Replacing Michael in the team.
-
Garcia released by Edinburgh. Sign him up now !!!
-
Stoke should be given every opportunity to get their track in order and keep it maintained. Having stock cars does not help but as Scunthorpe kings Lynn Ipswich mildenhall and Eastbourne can work with the cars then surely stoke can too. With the correct equipment and know how and the right amount of time there is no reason why the stoke track be back to the very high standards it was in the eighties.

Ipswich v Edinburgh 21 6 18

I’d like to see us sign Jeppesen who has been released by Somerset to replace Michael -
Jason Doyle has inspired many riders by being focused fitter leaner and more determined. None of those attributes cost anything apart fro spending time in the gym. I believe cam shared a workshop last year with Scott Nicholls and went to the gym too when Scott went. Sadly that’s not the case this season and it clearly shows.

Are Malcolm vasey and Nigel Crabtree still involved at stoke ?
-
What sort of crowd numbers do you think were there last night
-
When was the last time stoke ran a meeting which ran without any track, generater or curfew problems. No one wants to see a track close but the safety of the riders must be the prime concern. I think the time has come for the promotion to be suspended until the SCB are happy for it to resume or it’s sold or leased out to a fit and proper promotion.

Totally agree. The top league has always shafted the second tier. In 1991 4 teams were encouraged up with help promised. It killed Wimbledon , bankrupt Berwick. Then almagamation came along but the top tier wouldn’t share the top riders around so the rich were rich and the poor got poorer. Resulting in huge financial problems for Glasgow/Edinburgh Middlesbrough and others. It could have worked and provided a full and varied fixture list if it wasn’t for self interest. Birmingham were tempted up followed by Somerset and rye house and the rockets gates have halved. We can learn from history and I guess Ipswich Sheffield and Redcar are correct to protect their race night

I hope Ben does sign for Buxton. They desperately need another heatleader
-
I believe the rent has doubled but it’s the first increase in 8 years. All depends on how much the original rent was to know if it’s a massive or unreasonable increase
-
I really do hope Buxton continue. Played a huge part in the progress of many riders. Cookie the wright brothers and many many more. I think teams like Eastbourne Birmingham Cradley have driven up pay rates to get the best riders and this is crucifying teams like iow Buxton and kings Lynn young stars are no more due to riders wanting more than the sport can pay.

Ipswich Witches v Sheffield Tigers 7th June
Racin Jason 72 replied to Badge's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Thought sarge rode well considering he was at number 2. Rory classy. Nico looks much more like his old self. Connor rode some aggressive corners and deserved more. Danyon was excellent once he won his first race the confidence came back immediately. Danny was unlucky but rode well all things considered. And cam was slightly disappointing. Looks like the cam of old. One question I have. Is it possible to look for your partner ??? Only rider to do so was sarge. -

Totally agree. They both want to ride the same bit of track at the same time. Absolute madness putting them together. I’d put Nico at 2 and get his confidence back up with Rory. -

A very strange choice of guest as James is struggling to get a 4 point ave at reserve at Glasgow. We certainly got the best out of him when he rode for us a couple of seasons ago. -
berge is very good at Berwick. He has never had a second season with any club despite generally increasing his average. I believe he is a temperamental character.

Major new sponsorship deal for British speedway
Racin Jason 72 replied to stewmac's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Speaks volumes that within weeks of taking over the Great Britain team the new management secure a major and significant sponsor. Something the BSPA have failed to deliver on for years. I’m guessing cpl in the late eighties was the last time -
Newcastle at home and again at Berwick riding for the diamonds
-
If you could provide Ben Barker with bikes and a mechanic and just get him to arrive and ride you will get the best out of him. Was brilliant in two spells at Ipswich but carries a lot of baggage.

When was the last time there were no speedway meeting scheduled on a Saturday during the season ?? Obviously not including rain offs ive been attending for 30 years and I cannot remember this ever happening before. Saturday night was the main race day for many clubs. Kings Lynn Coventry Cradley Belle Vue in the top flight. And also many more that rode in the national league. I guess that’s the price of having a Grand Prix and England giving in to everybody else.
-
I actually really want to go to stoke just to see if it really is that bad ! Last time I went was twenty years ago and there was a crater on the first bend then. But I remember in the late eighties the track was famously well prepared and smooth so we know it can be done. I know stock cars share the track but so do many other tracks without the rough track.

So did anyone attend this meeting. Did the generator conk out or lights fuse again ?
