Manzares looked a fantastic rider in his first season at Ipswich. His second season was hugely disappointing and it seems he has dropped even further as a full season in the reserve berth should have seen his scoring rocket.

I got hammered on Facebook a few weeks ago because I complained that mildenhall had cut short their meeting by two heats because a paramedic had got shale in her eye. Thankfully she made a full recovery. It made me think that perhaps a two pound discount on the next admission would be the correct thing to do. Im my job as a carpenter if I agreed to fit 15 kitchen units and only fitted 13 before cutting myself and unable to continue. You would expect me to return to complete the job. But if I said sorry but I’m not coming back to fulfill the work but I still want the full amount I priced despite not finishing. You would not accept that strangely enough H&S had recommended a year ago that the track and medical staff should wear eye protection. That has not happened even after the incident. This isn’t a go at mildenhall as the situation would have been handled exactly the same at any other track. But it’s another reason why fans drift away

Ipswich V Berwick

Congratulations to ALL the riders for at least giving it a go. Correct decision to call it off. I imagine it was a visability rather than the wet track. I switched off my window wipers for about ten secs on the way home to demonstrate to my passengers how bad the visability would be for the riders. -
Premiership, Championship, what's the difference?
Racin Jason 72 replied to redlead's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I believe the championship has got far too strong. Reserves should both be British from the national league and the current top two riders in our case Danny and Rory should Be plying their trade in the top league only. The natural jump from national league to championship is too large as it stands. There are a lot of talented young British rider out there who should be getting track time in the championship without coming against the likes of Cook Morris Schlein etc at this stage of their careers -
Think Glasgow v Ipswich will be a epic battle. Witches need to gain 4 league points which is a massive ask but we have nicholls and barker guesting while the tigers have chosen Manzares which makes us slightly stronger imo. Think we will lose by 4 on the night.

What’s in a name ??
Racin Jason 72 replied to Racin Jason 72's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I believe it nearly killed the promotion financially -
Now lakeside are going to relocate to Rye House what are they going to call the team. The obvious is the Rye House hammers but will that alienate some fans from both sides ? Historically cradley at stoke. The Scottish monarchs. Boston riding at kings Lynn. Coventry riding at Leicester and cradley riding at Birmingham have all been unsuccessful to a degree. I think in this case lakeside should retain the name for the remainder of this season and next season the team should revert to Rye House rockets. Would this stop lakeside fans attending ??? Or will the rocket fans support a lakeside team ?? intresting times ahead. I’m just glad we are not loosing another team. Very intrested to know what the views are of the rockets and hammers supporters are.

Just to add some balance. Jason pipe today on Facebook was very complimentary about the track and extra lighting with its own generator and generally saying the Tattum and his team had done a very decent job. -

Well I hope Ipswich stay in the championship. Don’t want to return to the top flight personally -

Really enjoyed my first visit to the NSS. Despite the wet track we enjoyed some terrific racing in a great stadium. I parked in the stadium car park as suggested and failed to have the brunch in the Peter craven suite instead having a burger from downstairs. I’m sure as it was about 11am it must have been kept warm from the last colts meeting !! presentation was first class as Hayley kept everyone informed of the delays which you could hear clearly and chase the ace was very good value too with good crowd participation. Very much looking forward to returning very soon. Plus not one single hold up going or returning on my 450 mile round trip !!!!!! -

Best wishes to Dan for a full and speedy recovery. I’m making the trip up tomorrow from Ipswich for my first visit to the NSS. I’ve booked tickets for the grandstand. Any advice regarding parking and eating at the stadium or any other useful information I might need ?? -

What happened to the 5 year plan when stoke went down a level?

Amazing result. Looking at the teams on paper stoke should have won comfortably i read on Facebook during the day that jacks grandfather is terminally ill and the whole family were to be at his bedside.

I saw the track and witnessed the actions of the riders. My opinion is no more or less valid than yours but I’m reporting what I saw first hand -

Chris gay asked both captains their opinions. If one side were prepared to ride he was going to get the meeting started however after initially being prepared to ride the Ipswich team seemed to be swayed to change their minds by their captain. I agree that rider safety is paramount but I was present last night unlike a few of the posters defending the riders. Danny king said he would have given it a go as did Richard Lawson. They should have at least tried. To not even try is inexcusable. Nobody would be complaining if they had a go and then said no. At this rate the riders won’t have a sport left in s couple of years. -

I too thought it was sawdust but it was limestone dust which does a similar job. The riders should be ashamed of themselves at not trying the track after all the efforts. -

They don’t want to ride. Nearly 8 and they haven’t changed while the Ipswich riders are ready to go.
