I’ve been going to foxhall since march 1985 so that’s 36 seasons and I’ve missed less than ten home meetings in all that time. normally I might miss a meeting as I’m away on holiday but I never choose to miss a home meeting however this Thursday I’m choosing not to go to foxhall. £23 for 15 heats and a likely home defeat. No thanks

Spot on. The promotion can’t afford to lose fans so early in the season especially as they have rectified the track which was one of the reasons for poor crowds last season

I don’t know but as we are 2 points under the limit we can fit him in ironically Ben has lost a fair bit of weight over the winter and is riding extremely well so far this season !!!!!

Swap heeps for Ben Barker

Decided to go the Kent v Thurrock today as I’d not been to iwade for 25 years. found my way there ok and plenty of signs of speedway which were helpful. Very friendly staff on car parking duty and on the admission gate. going into the stadium it looked no different than it did 25 years ago but the track looked immaculate and super smooth we ventured onto the back straight as the home straight was fairly full even at 11am. Unfortunately there wasn’t any music to keep us entertained and the pa was inaudible. Once the racing started we saw some decent racing but the delays between heats were so long especially with no background music. By heat 6 we went to get some food and were quickly seen and our order taken. I chose a sausage in a roll as they don’t do hot dogs !!! 25 minutes later I finally received my food but to be fair all the staff were working flat out and and were very apologetic and polite yet another delay for the air fence and then a electrical problem was enough for me. Two hours in and 8 heats completed. So back in the van we got and returned to Ipswich now I know this is a new promotion at a newly reopened league venue and you have to make allowances but honestly this is exactly why speedway is in the state it’s in

15.04.2022 - Scunthorpe v Leicester League
Racin Jason 72 replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I purchased the stream and was very impressed with the first broadcast. great racing in front of a very healthy crowd. I expected Leicester to win easily but Scunthorpe rode very well indeed. And deserved the emphatic win. -
I would suggest he is about two stone heavier than Danny king who is of similar height. if you put a extra two stone on any riders bike they would be at a massive disadvantage. he has had 8 months to work on his fitness and it looks like he hasn’t bothered. When he was trim in 2019 he had his best ever season by a mile. He was fantastic and a joy to watch. I want that Cameron at foxhall.

All of them are riding apart from Plymouth. And mpt Hans and Ben barker can’t guest today due to other commitments

You can always tell what kind of season cam will have on press day. One chin equals a very good season two or more chins and it’s a poor season

Any truth in the rumour that Heeps missed heat 8 as he was stuck in the queue for chips ??? -

I’m sure the grandstand seats 2,000 edit. According to the panther’s website the stand seats 2,200

I like this idea. I’m always inquisitive about the size of the crowd. interesting I was at the Ben fund and sat in the stand which looked quite full. However when we walked along the back straight the stand was actually only half full. It was very surprising. My guess of the Ben fund crowd would be 1400

Looking at the photo tai posted before the meeting I’d say it was a accident waiting to happen. large stone did the damage. Thankfully it didn’t hit him in the eye -
Not bad for 56 seasons !!!!

2019. Trained hard and got fit and put two points on his average 2021 started overweight and dropped two points and gets sacked twice and was very lucky to keep his place at Kent. winter of 2021 told by management where he needs to improve and all are confident press day 8 months since he stopped racing with plenty of time to train and get fit when will the penny drop ?
