For those with their own equipment, price is £35 and the session starts at 11am. For those wishing to hire a bike or just have four laps on a speedway bike, session starts at 10.30am and we have 125cc and 500cc bikes available. Track looks good for tomorrow. Weather forecast is rain during the night but decent during the day. I will be at the track at 8.30am if anybody is travelling a distance and needs an update.

The rain might be the winner on this one as the forecast for Thursday is terrible, but then the forecast said the wonky boxes would beat the Bears last week, and that was wrong!

Due to the unfortunate events at Northside there has been a delay in getting their fixtures completed. They are are now back up and running again after the damage that was caused and I know efforts are being made to arrange the outstanding fixtures. The Northside v Redcar match is pencilled in for 28th October. Both Newcastle and Workington have cancelled fixtures due to 'time constraints'. It is hoped these can be completed but , if not, a possible meeting is being arranged where all the outstanding fixtures will be completed on one day at one hosting track. As with all Junior leagues we are in the hands of the senior promoters and some are more helpful than others but they understand our predicament and the co-ordinater is making every effort to get this league completed by the end of October. The final round of the Northern Open Championship is being held at Redcar on Saturday 12th October as part of the NJL 4 team tournament day.(see Facebook) Hope this helps clarify the situation.

Redcar Speedway will be holding another practice session for those with their own machines along with a hire bike session for those that want to try riding a speedway bike for the first time. This will be on Saturday 21st September starting at 10.30 am for the hire bikes.and 11 for those with their own bikes. We currently have 125cc, 250cc and 500cc bikes for hire with all riding equipment and tuition . You can hire a bike for the day...125,s are £45....500,s are £75....or just come down and do four laps for just a fiver! It's 6.30am and a lovely morning, no rain overnight and blue sky.Still ring if your travelling, in case it changes but looking very good for today's practice.

Have some blue and black ones around that size, 5ft 8 to 9 ish 40/42 chest 32 34 ish waist....nothing spectacular but sound with recent repairs where required....can send photos if required?.... £80 plus postage or can take to Scunthorpe this Sunday.

After last nights abandonment due to rain, the track is very wet this morning although its a warm , windy day. Weather forecast is rain through the night so we will do a track inspection at around 8.30am on Saturday, so if your travelling any distance, please ring for an update.

We have now got bookings for both 500 ,s and a 125 so we must be doing something right! We MAY have another 500 available on the day for people who just want to do 4 laps Weather forecast is good and the track is getting better every week, so get yourself there.

This meeting was the Northern Junior League Riders Championship with representation from all the teams taking part in the league. There is also the Northern league mini Grand Prix, with selected riders taking part in a round at each hosting track,as per the big boys Grand Prix. So two different competitions to give the riders a chance of more rides at different tracks. Hope that helps to clarify the competitions.

We have three 125cc machines, a 250cc and two full 500cc bikes available with all clothing provided and tuition. Costs are just £5 for 4 laps , but get there at 10 am for this one. Looking good for Saturdays session. Plenty of interest in the hire bikes and weather forecast is great so bring plenty of fluids! We have added a full size 250 bike and also a little twist and go to the fleet for the toddlers who would like a spin so everyone welcome. We now have permission to stage a full Amateur event soon so come and get in some practice before the big event.

For those that just want to do 4 laps and experience what,s it like to ride a 500cc bike with no brakes, come down early as we will start these off at 10am to get you out on the track before the quick boys take over. It,s just a fiver for those just doing 4 laps. We will also have the use of the tapes later in the day so riders with their own equipment can practice their starts.

Berwick v Workington was 4/5/13 Workington v Berwick was 6/5/13 Workington v Redcar was 8/6/13 Redcar have withdrawn from the Midland League K.o cup due not being able to complete the Stoke leg fixture prior to the start of the Northern League campaign giving Stoke a bye to the next round against Kings Lynn. Due to a high number of injuries to riders some NJL fixtures have been postponed in order to give riders time to recover.

As for the riders, they are just happy to ride!....if their name appears anywhere then that is just a bonus. As for the crowds!....the one,s I have spoken too have loved it so far. If anyone who was at these meetings can help me with heat details, please contact me.Some of us are too busy in the pits to complete a programme but I appreciate that our 'media' side could be better and I will attempt to improve that situation.
