  1. Interesting listening to the Facennas and Gordon Pairman interviewed on the new Greg Hancock (reel45.com) podcast. 6 acres of land purchased, minor track alterations and interesting ideas to drive the sport forward. Really sounds promising and just hope they get some of their ideas pushed out to other promotions.
  2. Possibly good weather, even in Buxton. Will be looking to go but no information on either club web site.
  3. Enjoyable meeting, entertainment from both sides with JPB looking the pick of the bunch. Brummies couldn't cope carrying two riders tonight when all need to have form to cover Mason.
  4. Trying to get back to live speedway after a few years break. Hoping the weather will be kind. Should I expect an easy home win or a competitive meeting?
  5. It says he's a local lad. In the Scunthorpe Stags team this year.
  6. I have no problems with Leicester setting up with a team of so called 'gaters' but there is nothing worse than watching somebody who misses the gate apparently not trying then retiring before the race is complete. I thought the atmosphere reflected this last night with the crowd only really getting behind the racing of Auty and Starke. The whole meeting seemed very flat with the announcers asking the crowd not to go quiet on him. The idea of giving out free posters so that people can help advertise around the County may work but it is ultimately the product on show that will get people coming to watch and on last nights evidence its going to be a hard sell.
  7. I took my 4 year old son to yesterdays meeting and we both enjoyed it. Plenty of decent racing with a 3rd bend that seemed to keep all of the riders on their toes. It was also nice to have a meeting that seemed to move along a t a decent pace with 2 minutes being called as soon a heat was completed. This certainly helped keep my lad interest and wanting to see more. I know that Stoke isnt the most attractive of stadia but its not as if we are being asked to live their and for a 3 hour visit it has everything that you need. Regarding booing riders, I'm sure they really couldn't care less, I don't know any riders at all but I cant imagine they are sensitive souls. The booing and jeering just adds to any atmosphere and adds to the entertainment.
  8. Strength at reserve will be the key all season, no different tonight, can see the Heathens sneaking a win but getting stronger as the season goes on.
  9. I'm planning to make my first visit to Leicester tonight having moved to the area. Really looking forward to seeing two good teams in modern surroundings. Looks 2 evenly matched teams so I'm really hoping it can be the solution to my speedway fix without having to travel too far. From the posts I've seen about Leicester it certainly could be interesting.
