Bandits Back To Berrington?
Boobs replied to bigeddiechek's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
24 hours late in getting that on here, it is now 3/4 way through April 2nd. Bandits 1, Monarchs 0. -
Edinburgh V Berwick (lc) 4/4/14 @ 7.30pm
Boobs replied to Mr Blobby's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Monarchs have "Stevie" Worrall as they call him as a red-hot reserve, if Steenie and Liamie can keep him in check, Bandits might, just might, squeeze out a point. -
Since the proposed move back out to Ancroft has a three-page thread of its own now, let's get this one back on the rails. Can we get a couple of groups together for Saturday? IN THE BOX, IN THE WARM, ON THE CHEAP!: Due to a late cancellation, a rare (and inexpensive) opportunity for group hospitality at the forthcoming Bandits v Monarchs match at Shielfield Park this Saturday (April 5th) has become available. Fancy a nice early-season evening in the warm confines of our hospitality box? To discuss further, contact Lani Rae 07779-227535 or lani@berwickbandits.co

Interesting to read the various thoughts here. Time to call Dennis on the number quoted, find out some more details. If it helps, I'll donate a photo session for the calendar. -
Bandits Back To Berrington?

Just did it, but he's engaged. Must be getting a lot of media enquiries about the move, I expect. -
From Berwick newsletter: Due to a late cancellation, a rare opportunity for group hospitality at the forthcoming Bandits v Monarchs match at Shielfield Park has become available. Fancy a nice early-season evening in the warm confines of our hospitality box? Commercial boss Lani Rae has space available on Saturday for the visit of Edinburgh Monarchs. Visiting groups would be welcome, of course! She is also able to accomodate couples and even solo spectators who want to escape the chill of late spring -- do not be shy about asking Lani if she can fit you in this week. To discuss further, contact Lani Rae 07779-227535 or lani@berwickbandits.co

Income? It is a fence-fundraiser....... -
Workington Vs Glasgow - Lc - Sat 29/3/14 7pm

Sorry, not the cheapest. Berwick is £14 for adults, £10 concession and all kids under sixteen are free. I won't begin to talk about season-ticket prices. Worky are good on prices, better than most -- but most certainly higher-priced than your pals on the other side. -

True colours. -
I think sir, that as a member of the paying public it matters very much.

How Would You Improve Presentation?
Boobs replied to oldtimer's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I think the referee performs both these duties. They send in pretty full reports after every meeting, covering a variety of other points, too. -
The formula -- and costs involved -- for the Fours, especially, would be interesting.
-
Remember that averages roll. Newcomers (of which there aren't many) if they hit the ground running will be out of reserve post haste because their average will be immediate. Guys who have trailed low scores through last season, even if they hit form, might stay reserve an extras month or two.

Because he has a promoter's licence, one assumes. It is also quite likely the BSPA might not be delighted by the news of his departure from the club. As a MC member and a vital cog in organisation of their shared events, David Hoggart will (if he still wants to of course) be very much part of the BSPA set-up during 2014.

While I'm horrified by this decision, I have to say Edinburgh's existence couldn't be challenged using it as a precedent. Scotland and England have fundamentally different legal systems, even before September 18th.
-
Barrett certainly had a couple of good meetings at Ashfield, but over two seasons very much hit-and-miss for Berwick. Facundo Albin was a huge favourite at Sheffield, has every chance of going further in the sport and might well be a better and indeed less-expensive option. Although Joey Ringwood must be given every chance to get his paperwork together.

Nemo isn't riding in England this year, and certainly wouldn't be at Redcar even if he changed his mind, as his Thursday-night Swedish team would be very unhappy. So -- who replaces Kozza?
-
Why are you still displaying riders like Alex Davies, Ryan Douglas, Kozza Smith et al in your teams at the start of this thread? It seems certain they will not be allowed to join these teams.
-
Certainly can't use r/r for a rider who has never raced for you and who isn't going to be available anyway. Exceptions granted in the past were for riders returning to their last season's club who had been injured pre-season.

Advice On Tactical Rides/substitutes.
Boobs replied to a4poster's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
But no tacticals in KO Cup -
Again? Bandits have been bottom of the league maybe twice in 45 years. Last time was during the Waite administration. Berwick might not win the league in 2014, but they have a solid team which will have them well-enough placed. Whoever ends up as No 1. Which in itself might be an interesting contest to watch. Vissing? Kus?

No, I think the poster does know what they are talking about. Speedway Star, page 9: Plymouth boss David Short admitted "we had a contract with Mark Lemon and it should have been honoured". Plymouth's promotion impressed many people last season after taking over from Mr Bowden, but reneging on a signed contract is despicable.

Nick Morris is British, both parents and four grand-parents all being British. The fact of his being born overseas is no more relevant than Mark Loram being born in Malta or Benji Compton in Tenerife. He has a UK passport and if British speedway failed to realise his potential at a time when we are crying out for new young blood, more fool them. The thing about his riding in Australian meetings is a red herring. Kyle Newman, Joe Haines and Josh Auty have all raced in official MA title events in recent years, if Nick requested an ACU licence and entered the British title this year, why shouldn't he be accepted? Britain needs all the good young riders it can find.

Berwick are offering season tickets at £199, and £149 for OAPs.........
