  1. Except Swindon. Only they then don't pay for them!
  2. A pretty fair allocation of riders to the two meetings. Two big nights, with some cut'n'thrust stuff over the last few heats to decide on the last places in the Final!
  3. Surely not! No mention of a transfer in the press or on Lynn website
  4. Apparently so. James will be calling a halt at the end of term. Hope he has a great final season.
  5. Great to see people from Argentina on here. Truly an international forum these days. And yes, Go Facu!
  6. A change in the rules means that a race can be declared if it is stopped after the leading rider has entered his third lap. Which may lead to referees awaiting him crossing the line, preventing re-running races with riders already spread out.
  7. No news yet? 14 days until Edinburgh meeting, not much more until Sheffield.
  8. He's been on Radio Forth on a Sunday for over thirty years. Were the two-and-two-makes-five guessers thinking he would be back at Glasgow when it was expected the Tigers would be roaring on a Friday night?
  9. With Australians clearly suffering from visa restrictions, is there a case for English promoters to look to Argentina for new raw talent? Covatti has been a revelation at Perry Barr and now Albin is getting good press at Sheffield. Neither needed visas or work permits. Is there anyone else over there, ready to come here and have a club take a risk?
  10. I bought a Star this morning, and I think the new lay-out is much fresher. The old format of each track's tame scribe pumping out what is already on the club's website and will probably be seen again word-for-word in their programme (apologies to the few honourable exceptions) has been broken up. Very good. One thing that seems to have crept in is that articles/items are not confined to one page, and reappear in mid-sentence overleaf someplace. Is that common in setting-out magazines these days, or just a case of trying to pack everything in? All in all, still a good read. Indeed, a better read than in immediate past years.
  11. The plastic bag is designed to prevent people leafing through the magazine -- requiring them to puchase it "sight unseen"!
