  1. Don't you think the club might have replied if you hadn't given a false name, matching the one-off e-mail address you'd created?
  2. One of your more-intelligent posts, Manse!
  3. I think the rest of the United Kingdom would prefer the rebuilding of Offa's Dyke
  4. Just realised that, with the regular season now over, season ticket is over too. Season tickets were for regular PL and Cup matches only. This was announced by the club on Facebook. But being in the play-offs is a great bonus, and well worth the money!
  5. Safe to say that, if the club has been informed by BSPA office, they will carry the information in their e-Newsletter. They always put one out late Friday or early Saturday.
  6. Therefore, you want a referee from where, England? Who would -- in your mind -- therefore not be biased towards the nine English pairings? (This thread at times has been a joy to read. So many posts, so few brain-cells)
  7. With apologies to Ray Parker Jr, and to the Edinburgh team and promotion (doing an amazing job so far this year) ooooh, ain't their supporters getting too smug for words..... If there's something smug in your neighborhood Who ya gonna call? SMUGBUSTERS! If there's something weird and they don't look good Who ya gonna call? SMUGBUSTERS I ain't afraid of no smugs I ain't afraid of no smugs Roll on Saturday night!
  8. As the team -- which is a team, with great togetherness in the pits -- posts yet another four-point away win, are there are still those who want it changed? Leave well alone. They're doing fine, clearly going to stay in the top six.
  9. Yes, in your opinion. But press releases are just that, information to the media. Sports editors and the like prefer juicier copy, and if it gets onto the printed page or the airwaves, then the job is done. People might come along to see for themselves.
  10. Probably differed by not being in the top six. Which you are. With the team built by the club.
  11. Peterboro arrive after running Monarchs closer than any other side this season, so they'll be up for it tonight. Sedgy and Worrall go from team-mates to rivals. This morning's e-Newsletter confirms all adults get a free programme tonight, and informs on latest fixture-changes.
  12. The club is aware of the incoveniences caused -- virtually outwith the control of the promotion -- over several recent meetings by weather and medical delays. As a way of offering a small 'thank you' for your patience, all paying adults (and season ticket-holders) will be offered a free programme for this Saturday's match against Peterborough. From e_newsletter.
  13. Berwick stage their first home match for five weeks this weekend, aiming to maintain an impressive top-six status against an equally-solid Bears squad. Club e-Newsletter highlights Rafal Kopopka as "interesting" and likely to find Shielfield to his liking. With "Jock Steen" moving up to No 3 for Bandits, Matej Kus becomes this month's hopefully-powerful reserve scorer. Teams: Berwick - Vissing, r/r, Jensen, Wethers, Doolan, Carr & Kus. Redcar - Lawson, Skidmore, Graveson, Wilkinson, Summers, Williamson & Konopka All the Bandits except Claus Vissing can take an r/r outing. The newsletter has also discloses the rained-off PL match between these two teams at the STMP will be restaged on July 10th. After the PL match this Saturday, the second leg of NJL Cup Final will feature Berwick Border Raiders against Castleford. Raiders currently hold a 4-point lead.
  14. Difficult one with a couple of Saturday tracks, both with fixture backlogs already. Bandits have now suffered ten call-offs this season already -- two at home, eight away.
  15. Speedway has gone mad, if a club (with no home meeting next week either, the loss of which affects their cashflow) would put off a fairly-local derby just because they thought they might not win. Still no news of call-off on BSPA website.
  16. Chris Mills now going to Newcastle? Good to hear he's getting a gig again. Diamonds made a real mess of their last changes, Millsie might offer some solidarity at the bottom end. Well said that lady! Bandits e-newsletter last night made much the same points, and it is clear Berwick are more than happy with his progress, which isn't being helped by so many rained-off matches. Once he gets more racing under his belt, with Bandits and Hitmen, his scoring will rise. Worst reserve in the League? You're having a laugh.
  17. Very unfortunate. But Redcar promotion know their track best, maybe drainage is poor. Bandits have now had TEN meetings (two home and eight away) postponed this year already. Impressive PR by Berwick, getting e-newsletter out to supporters, telling them of cancellation, before eleven o'clock. As of now (11.30) BSPA site still says meeting is on!
  18. Weather forecast gives heavy rain in Sheffield this morning, clearing to a dry evening. If Proctor is allowed to ride, track should be fine. If not, track will be waterlogged. (Just been told Adam Roynon announced as new Plymouth signing in Devon newspapers -- which must surely screw up any hope of Sheffield using r/r for him from now on)
  19. New BSPA averages for all clubs kick in from May 1st, but Berwick won't see any real change, Doolan still No 1 and the two reserves the same. Depending on form and results, next break-point is June 1st.
  20. From Berwick's e-mail newsletter to supporters: STEFAN STEPS UP: Another of our local boys is making good! Ian Rae is a happy man, having arranged with Richard Moss at Buxton for 19-year-old Stefan Farnaby to join the Hitmen for their 2014 National League campaign. Stefan, from Tweedmouth, only started speedway last year, racing with Berwick's NJL squad, and has this term already shown sufficient progress to warrant a move into the National League. His progress from NJL to NL after just a year parallels that of Liam Carr, who will be Stefan's team-mate at Buxton. Bandits' supporters need not worry about his long-term future, however -- before sending him down to Derbyshire for the Hitmens' press day this weekend, Ian Rae has signed Stefan to a full Berwick contract, securing him as a Berwick asset while he is gaining experience in the lower league. Along with Liam Carr, Stefan is another Tweedmouth local to come through the NJL ranks, proving yet again the value of our junior racing programme, well-controlled in 2014 by Gary Flint and Colin Easton.
  21. From Berwick's e-mail newsletter to their supporters: SUSANNE'S IN CHARGE: Our huge FIM event on June 7th (see below) is to be graced by the world's leading female referee! Susanne Huettinger from Austria has been appointed to control the meeting. From Wiener Neustadt (Vienna New Town) where she lives with her husband and two children, Susanne is widely recognised as a popular and experienced official.
  22. From Bandits' e-mail newsletter to supporters: DIAMOND GEEZERS: This Saturday brings our oldest, nearest and (possibly) dearest rivals back to Berwick. When Newcastle come to town, no holds are barred! The Diamonds have an exceedingly workmanlike squad (again!) this season and -- like ourselves -- will be aiming to start the Premier League campaign with two weekend wins. Which is why we will be hoping (and cheering) for our New Holland Bandits to produce their best form, right across the board. On Saturday, with a big attendance guaranteed, if you are looking for your regular stand seat or terracing barrier, better come along ten minutes earlier than usual! LIAM JOINS THE ELITE: As he consolidates his situation with our Premier League Bandits, teenager Liam Carr has had a call from Lakeside Hammers, who have invited him to ride in their colours at Coventry on Monday, May 5th, and again at Belle Vue in June. Onward and upward, young Liam!
