  1. Like to see Steve Worrall show some form tonight. Started the season rusty.
  2. Hope it’s not just a race to the first bend. Plymouth very small and narrow.
  3. Fair enough but it’s not as though he did a Basso. Can’t help wondering why Basso failed to show at Poole last week. He would have found out what the Pirate fans would have thought of him. It’s Like leaving Liverpool to go to West Ham. Still, onto tonight. Lucky I checked and it’s a 7pm start. Stream ordered. Hopefully will work on my smart tv. Downloaded TV Bro app and logged in. Should be OK. Glad so many clubs are streaming this season. Should have happened at least 5 years ago and lots of lost revenue, but at least they are doing it now. https://www.gladiatorslive.com
  4. So looking forward to returning to Cowley for this one. Poole fans used to gather together on the 3/4th bend.

  6. Tickets likely to sell out so have got a couple. For those going to Crowley, best to get your tickets asap. https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/whats-on/oxford/oxford-stadium/20-04-22-oxford-cheetahs-vs-poole-pirates-7-30pm/e-byykgg
  7. Getting a losing point for getting within 6 at away tracks.
  8. Was going to come down for this but have changed my mind and will order a stream. Will venture down for the league meeting. The stream for £11.99 is a bargain and when you consider the price of diesel at the moment plus entry and program, a trip to Plymouth would see a spend of approx £80 plus half a day. No brainer.
  9. Can’t see past us Pirates making it another title to be honest. Of course injuries can change that but we have very strong heatleaders, Ben and Zack Cook backing them up and Drew Kemp at reserve. Very strong at home and will never get thrashed, meaning bonus points galore. Young Ablitt isn’t expected to score big, just pick up a few points at home, and will get three rides away. Leicester and Glasgow the main rivals. Just think we will have too much for them again.
  10. Next Tuesday sees the first meaningful meeting at The Plymouth Coliseum this season and the first leg of the KO Cup. Looking forward to coming down for this one. Have Plymouth got a number one lined up yet? Don’t really want them to start the season with a 3 point rider at one. Poole should be at full strength and I think we could fancy our chances for this one. Thoughts?
  11. Very lucky with the weather. Rain arrived just after heat 15 and any delays would have seen the meeting ended before then. Some very decent racing for Bjarne. Zack Cook possibly the pick of the riders on display being unbeaten until heat 15 when he was shut out. Thanks to Bjarne for serving up some great racing over a long and successful career.
  12. Can’t understand a word Ablitt said. Was the mic not connected to the main feed. Just background noise. Seems the same issue with every rider. Better for Rob to offer his mic to each rider. Poor sound quality. A shame.
  13. Just come back on here and was rolling with laughter. The term wasn’t meant to seriously offend. I used the term as someone with long hair who likes bikes and rock music. There were loads of greebo about in the past and I have never heard the term used for unkempt people. Now I remember why I don’t post on here regularly anymore. Say a word slightly unPC and it is sure to offend some fart.
  14. Would have had Adam over Greebo. Younger, more potential over a rider not the most popular at Poole and passed his best.
  15. I always used cash. For virtually everything. But in recent years my use of cash has dwindled to virtually nothing. It’s a pain in the arse to have to go and get cash to pay for entry to speedway. In fact it’s ridiculous. I pay for most things nowadays with my iPhone. Hover it over the terminal and done. My daughter pays on her iWatch. Beep. Thank you, done.
  16. As the season is about to start, I would like to wish all clubs a good season, whether they finish first or last. Good crowds, great racing, nothing serious on the injury front, plenty of controversy, great racing, last heat deciders, with all clubs making it through to the end of the season without threat of closure. Time for the sport to grow, bring in new fans, entice old clubs like Swindon, Eastbourne and Workington back to the Championship, and bring hope to Coventry fans that something might happen soon. In the next couple of weeks the banter will start, arguments will erupt and the mud slinging will be in full swing. I am as guilty as the next fan. But remember, we are all fans of the sport and in this current political climate, survival of all clubs is paramount. Let’s all look forward to a great new season with the rightful winners of the Championship after a titanic battle full of drama and excitement. Bring it on!
  17. Hope the day is a success. But cash only is ridiculous. Over the past year I doubt I have handed over more than £100 in cash. A bit of small change for a car park, but everything is card or Apple Pay today. Who the hell seriously uses cash?
  18. Good to finally read that Birmingham have got a team together. Was worried at one stage they might not even come to tapes. If this touted team cones to fruition, they should be strong at home, and a team winning in front,of its home fans is paramount. Weak teams do the league no good. Let’s hope the Brum fans support their club in decent numbers.
  19. If the Russians have banned him, then he should apply for Polish citizenship, as the Russians will stop him riding from herein.
  20. Most of the Russian army soldiers won’t kill anyone either. Should they be allowed to take part in individual sporting events if good enough? The paraolympians have just been banned. I would say all are completely innocent. But bans mean EVERYONE. If those banned are unhappy, then they know what the cause is and if enough of them get together, say several million, then Putins tenure at dictator will be at risk. Alternatively, find out where Putin will be in future months, and go and shoot him dead. Might end up caught and sentenced to death but the world will cheer you and you will go down in the history books as a hero for democracy.
