  1. It was stated tonight on BT Sport that this weekends football fixtures are likely to be cancelled with no sporting activities for the 10 days of mourning. This will clearly affect speedway as any other sport taking place. There should be an announcement tomorrow. Leicester v Poole on Saturday is now off.
  2. With the very sad new coming through this afternoon about the death of the Queen, it looks unlikely this fixture will now go ahead, putting more pressure on a congested fixture list. I am guessing that we will have a clearer picture tomorrow when announcements are made.
  3. Well you might want to support someone taking illegal substances but others have a different opinion. Drugs have no part in sport.an illegal substance is not prescription or taking a couple of extra paracetamol.
  4. Looks like he got off lightly. Could have got 2 years. Will Plymouth stand by him now or want him in their team next season?
  5. Fingers crossed will be down for this. Meant to be up in London for business but will try to rearrange. If not will buy the stream.
  6. Of course it was the right call to ride today. Unfortunate that a thunderstorm, which was not predicted in any forecast, grew over the channel and had our name on it. Looking outside now it’s a pleasant evening. No way should the meeting have been called off early. Now, because of the rainoff, the Leicester meeting in the KO Cup needs to be put back. We could be playing them three time at Poole in a month.
  7. Well said. But the majority of Plymouth fans on here are agressive in their tone and seem to think Plymouths injury crisis is Poole’s fault.
  8. I don’t dish out anything. Plymouth fans wishing huge losses on another speedway club is disgraceful.
  9. No. Leicester in the KO Cup. But Playoffs take precedence so that gets moved back.
  10. What is it with Plymouth fans and their imbecilic posts? Is this poster a real speedway fan? And I am sure people on here have noticed. All the animosity comes from Plymouth fans towards Poole. They seem to have a massive inferiority complex. Most Poole fans, myself included, had a soft spot for Plymouth down the coast. We wished them well on their survival and growth. Yet their fans on the whole are abusive and not particularly friendly. This Maldon45, wishing big losses on another club shows the Plymouth mentality. Very sad and very strange.
  11. Left home and All roads were dry. Arrived at parking near stadium to a lightning display and within a couple of minutes it was torrential. Ten mins later the drains in the road couldn’t cope. Drove home with flooded roads. Still raining now and track would be underwater. No chance direct storm hit. So we go again next Tuesday with Plymouth first leg. Let’s hope this low pressure moves away and we get a little settled weather.
  12. Thunder and lightning at stadium. Hammering down. Wont last long but damage is being done. Looks like Plymouth get the first leg after all.
  13. What’s that got to do with this meeting? Atkins rides for neither club.
  14. The rain band is about 25-30 mins wide. Depends how heavy it is and whether it will directly hit. decided to wait and see. Danish league on tv followed by Champions League if not on. Could get away with it and get it on.
  15. So you want to buy a piece of land. You announce to the world that you want to buy this piece of land. Property developers are suddenly alerted. They bid higher. Council accept offer. Avoiding complaints from nimbys. When the Edinburgh promotion originally announced they were after this land, I recall making a post highlighting this very issue. The naivety from some posters on here is ridiculous. I feel very sorry for the fans of Edinburgh Speedway and do hope the promotion, with the help of the local council, find an affordable piece of land suitable for a new stadium and the sport can continue in the area. It is disappointing that Edinburgh are going to be homeless after this season.
  16. The guy is an idiot. Seems they breed in the Plymouth area. Blaming Poole for Plymouths weak team. Expecting Poole to call it off. You couldn’t make it up. But they could yet get lucky.
  17. Plymouth might get away with it yet. Rain is pushing up from the Channel Islands and could have our name on it. If it hits it could cause issues.
  18. That’s the problem though. We can all blame Plymouth for this situation but if riders don’t want to ride for them, there’s little that can be done. As I said earlier, the show goes on.
  19. It was absolutely ridiculous to announce anything until the land had actually been purchased. To say they were after a bit of prime land, and a stadium would be built by the start of next season was pie in the sky and all that it did was raise supporters hopes and alert potential property developers. Now it has dashed them. It would have been dar better to have stayed quiet, get on with buying the land without fans knowledge, submit plans with the local council, gain planning permissions and if it took a further year, then so what. Instead today there are a lot of very disappointed Edinburgh fans. I feel for them.
