  1. Pawlicki could have broken his leg there. Nasty crash. Dudek wasn’t going to back off. Smektala lost his back wheel. Pawlicki collected bike. Hope he’s ok. And he’s up and walking. Good news.
  2. No that’s not it. He’s miles off. Three years ago I for one thought he could break through but it’s just not happened for some reason.
  3. Ellis slightly better in that one. Gated second but by the 3rd bend was stone last. Jensen leading had an ef with both Pawlicki and Kubera passing but he had enough over Ellis’s to just roll over the line. Adam should be doing better than this. Give the spot to Brennan, Flint or Kemp for experience.
  4. Decent meeting with all riders battling except Ellis. He is better than this, surely? Looks poorly prepared and gave up in his second ride whilst 100 metres adrift.
  5. Check out the Extraleague thread. I put up footage of the crash. Quite horrendous and hope he makes a quick recovery.
  6. Talk about dragging the name of Workington speedway through the mud. The new promotion must be so proud to have someone like you attached to their new venture. What an utter embarrassment to them you are.
  7. A very good meeting marred by the Dan Bewley crash. Hope he isn’t badly hurt as it was horrendous. He was having a bit of a mare of a meeting and was unfortunately in the wrong place at the wrong time. Jeppersen over keen to keep his place in the team. A fair result. Special mention for Kacper Woryna who is now establishing himself as a top liner. GPs beckon.
  8. Another poster who posts abuse but when I am proved correct doesn’t have the humility to admit they were wrong. No surprise to be honest. Shame he can’t live up to his name.
  9. Because I spoke the truth and the guy that slagged me off on the Workington thread has just admitted what I said was correct? ( Fans standing up to ten metres back from track)
  10. As long as Lidl or Aldi don’t get wind of a bit of land available. If I was landowner and they offered more, then sorry Edinburgh Speedway, match it or get ready for center isle food blenders and size 42 stretch jeans. Of course we all want Edinburgh speedway to continue but never heard of a club announcing they are racing next season when they haven’t even purchased the land and got planning permissions in place. With all the goodwill in the world it’s going to be stretching it buying the land, getting permissions and building a stadium. Unless it’s a portacabin and scaffold terraces.
  11. Exactly what I said so you agree with me. I will look out for your apology.
  12. So they haven’t yet acquired the land to build the stadium and there is competition from other businesses to acquire the land? Fingers crossed these other businesses don’t have deeper pockets.
  13. Has planning been granted at this new Edinburgh site? With a clean canvas the management have the opportunity to put in another Belle Vue of the north, albeit on a smaller scale. As long as they keep that David Hemsley away from marking the track out!
  14. Thought the ref got all the calls right last night. Watched the meeting back and hav’t changed my mind. Yes quite harsh but exactly the same as Poland. The only howler he made was allowing heat 11 to start when the start Marshall clearly bulked Kemp. Red light should have come on and riders to reset at tapes.
  15. Great news Edinburgh are sorted for next season. The management must have been working 20 hours a day to find the land, get all relevant planning permissions signed off, an architect to submit stadium designs, company to manufacture stadium, and get the track in place. All going to be done in 9 months. Scotland clearly has a better system in place compared to England where it would take numerous council meetings, planning meetings by the dozen with a complaints process etc and lots of NIMBYS. To get past all that is remarkable so I doff my cap to the Edinburgh management. So pleased to hear the Monarchs will be at tapes for 2023, along with Workington, Eastbourne and hopefully Swindon returning. Great stuff.
  16. No you can’t combine the averages of two riders, say one 6 and the other two, and bring in two 4 pointers. You change like for like or redeclare the whole team back to the starting team building average. That isn’t going to happen. Unless there’s a rider out there on an average below Ablitt who could come in and do better, what’s the point? Can’t think of one. Nathan is trying but too big a jump at this stage of his career.
  17. Not the best of meetings. Since the track has got smooth, we have lost our home advantage and teams come here no with little fear. Very little if my passing tonight which makes it a gating fest. The track seems to have lost the inside passing line. Chris Harris a class above and was led for 2 seconds all night when Lawson charged under him in heat 15 but he dealt with that and pulled away. Special mention to Flint who continued to show his liking for Poole, carrying on from last season when he scored paid 13. Also the young Dane looks impressive and definitely one for the future. The rest looked poor, especially Wells who was given an undeserved second opportunity in heat 14 when tailed right off. The ref made a howler allowing heat 11 to start when the start martial virtually knocked Kemp off his bike. Green light and go when Kemp wasn’t ready. Red light and restart would have been the fair outcome.
  18. Again it must be a Workington thing. Weird and abusive responses when I am all for the track.
