  1. Poor? We’re you really there? Sorry Ray tonight was the best meeting of the season and the crowd lapped it up.
  2. Tonight had passing after the second bend in 8 of the 15 heats. Berwick v Poole had passing in three of the 15 heats. Tonight’s meeting was superior on every conceivable level.
  3. Heat one Craig Cook passed Kemp. Heat 3, King passed Basso back straight then lined up and blasted around Ostergaard. Heat 5 Zack Cook passed CC on bend 4 for CC to re pass next lap. Heat 6 DREW Kemp passed Brennan lap two bend 4. Heat 7 Basso passed B Cook Heat 9 CC passed Zack Cook lap 2. Heat 10 Basso passed Drew Kemp lap 2 Heat 15 CC passed Steve Worrall lap 3. No, there wasn’t any passing! What we have learned tonight is that Glasgow won’t want to draw Poole in the semi finals.
  4. Well well well. Must admit I didn’t see that result coming. Big crowd, good tight meeting with Pirates always having the upper hand. Brilliant atmosphere and all the pirates getting well stuck in to send the Tigers home empty handed! Perhaps not a passing fest but there was passing in half the heats, but the closeness of the scores and the determination made up for it as the roof came off the stadium on a few occasions. Rather than a neutral watching a feed isn’t the same as attending because those there, (with the exception of the 4 Glasgow fans on the first bend)lapping it up. Rider of the night was Richard Lawson who was only. Eaten in heat 7 when everyone but the ref saw Ulrich Ostergaard take a mighty roller. Stevie Wonder posted on Twitter, asking how Chris Gay the ref missed it. Ben Basso’s return was greeted in boos from several in the crowd. It clearly affected him as he was pretty useless. Second season syndrome? On the other hand Danny Hume was greeted very warmly and showed his improvement this season with a battling display. Broc Nichol has scored very well at Poole but tonight was almost as useless as Connor Bailey. Craig Cook battled and made several passes, and Tom Brennan battled along with Ostergaard. But Pirates were on it and all to man man had raised their game on recent performances. About time too as we are not going to finish top two meaning having to battle past decent teams to make the semis.
  5. A lovely warm day here in Poole. Temp around 25-26 C. Light winds. A little cloud cover will help keep a bit of moisture in the track as long as it’s well watered but expecting dust and a blue groove by mid meeting. Regardless of practice, the team as a whole are not riding to their potential. Not sure what the main issue is but they are not clicking as a team. See a repeat of the Leicester meeting.
  6. I fly with him normally a few times a month but wasn’t there when it happened. Still can’t believe it. Yes he did what he enjoyed but his poor family. Young daughter, son working in Falklands is just flying back. Hard to contemplate as like me he was safe. Ah great guy full of fun with a wicked sense of humour. Enjoy your time on earth folks. You don’t know when it could end.
  7. Don’t worry I shouldn’t have mentioned it. Just devastated at the moment. Probably reflecting in my posts.
  8. Neither time did Lawson hit Harris or Palm Toft. Brady just crunched into Lawson forcing him to shut off. Enjoying the racing tonight. Sorry if I seem off. Lost my close mate in a paragliding accident two days ago.
  9. Knocked Lawson to the fence where he had to get off the throttle.
  10. Some excellent racing tonight. On previous visits the track has nearly always failed to deliver its potential but tonights it’s good. A shame BV don’t have stiffer opposition to make a match of it.
  11. Home rider advantage as the home riders know the fastest way around.
  12. Heat 4 was over the top riding from Kurtz who could have caused an injury. Bashing riders out is not part of racing.
  13. Watched a bit of this womens football. Standard is very poor. Football doesn’t live up to the BBC hype sorry to say.
  14. Had one good race. But the scoreline is a complete joke and makes a mockery of a six team league. All 6 teams should be much better balanced. And BV are not even the best team in the league.
  15. Kurtz knocking Lawson out there. Bit of dirty riding. This is a ridiculous waste of a live meeting.
  16. It was just a bit of ribbing don’t be so touchy. Yes BV the best place to watch speedway in the U.K. just a shame not many Mancs know about it.
  17. Glad to see Bewley looking recovered after that horrific crash just over a week ago. Lucky boy. What time do they open the gates? Getting close to start time!
  18. On our current form I can’t see past a ten point Glasgow win. We are not starting meetings well, give the opposition a healthy lead before we actually start to compete. We are not gating and if you are chasing the opposition out of the second bend you are in for a long night. It’s strange to see a lacklustre team but that’s what we currently have. Not going to make the final on the form we are currently exhibiting. And certainly don’t seem to have the passion to actually win it this year. Hope things improve but we would need all 6 riders to click to win, and it hasn’t happened for a while. Be nice to be proved wrong.
  19. Not blinkered at all. Say it as I see it. Zack Cook is in poor form. Havvy made a blunder leaving Ablitt to heat 14 when we were always likely to be 5-1’d. Swap the reserves around imo.
  20. Bombers clutch went. However Bomber got lucky as on first running Bomber was completely out of it first bend. Also, Danny had puncture last bend.
  21. Fully deserved draw. Was the better team once dialled in.
